The call
CHAPTER FIVE
It was already 8:00 in the morning when she woke up. She remained to lie on her bed. Her eyes are staring at the ceiling, trying to remember what happened last night.
When she realized nothing happened to them, she just let go a sigh with mixed annoyance.
She felt annoyed with herself for not to Anton. She felt annoyed because she's thinking that maybe there is something wrong with her body.
Is Anton not satisfied with her?
But then she remembered Anton. When she looked for him, he was not by her side. She was alone now and she didn't know where Anton is.
Where did he go and why he didn't even let Ariella know he will leave?
She sighed as she looked at the pillow beside her. She has nothing to do but get up and dress.
She walked through the window and stood there for a moment.
She let out a deep sigh as she closed her eyes, breathing fresh air to refresh her mind and remove those things that are bothering her mind since last night.
For a moment, she lost her mind about what happened last night. Her mind was refreshed for a moment when she inhaled the fresh air while she closed her eyes.
She tries to focus her attention on something else so that she doesn't think about anything, especially the things that have been bothering her since last night.
She stretched and yawned when unexpectedly someone wrapped around her waist.
She looked down there and saw Anton's hairy arm tightly hugging her waist.
She drew a smile at an unexpected opportunity. There was a question in her mind that she couldn't answer but that caused her to smile.
She thought that Anton left without saying goodbye to her, but he didn't. Maybe Anton was in the kitchen or the bathroom when she woke up and that's why she didn't see Anton by her side earlier.
She could feel the cold body of him hugging her from the back. Maybe he went to the bathroom earlier so she didn't see her when she woke up.
All of a sudden, they heard the telephone ringing.
Anton picked up the phone and answered the call.
"Yes, we are coming." He said.
Kim, his secretary, called and asked where they were. Their business client will arrive at 8:30 AM, so they need to hurry.
She is a big client who doesn't like to wait for them.
"Who called?" Ariella asked.
He put down the telephone and approached her.
She was still standing in front of the window.
"Our business client will arrive at 8:30 AM, so will you come with me?"
She just smiled. She's not in her condition to respond to what he said. It seems like she was somewhere, and it seems like she didn't hear what he said, so she just smiled but didn't say a word.
Yes, she's directly looking at him but her mind is floating in the air.
Anton was in front of her and was confused. He noticed she was stunned, so he held her hands.
It was cold. Her hands are cold.
"Are you okay, honey butter?" he coldly asked while caressing her cheek.
Upon hearing their endearment, she came back to her senses and blinked.
She nodded and says, "Of… course, honey butter."
He combed her hair using her fingers without taking his eyes off her. A sugary smile can be seen on his face.
"Are you thinking about last night?" He suddenly asked causing her to frown.
She shook her but didn't say a word. In fact, she's really thinking about last night and it's bothering her. She's just trying to focus her attention on other things.
She's still confused and many questions are in her mind since last night.
"I'm sorry about that. I'm just really not feeling well. I'm sorry, I interrupted our honeymoon. But, don't worry, after our meeting with our client, I will spend my whole night with you," he said in a determined way.
Only smile on her face was the answer. He knew to himself what was the real reason why he stopped last night and avoid her.
He remembered something that caused him to avoid her.
He remembered his ex-fiancée. It occurred to him that he should not have married Ariella but his ex-fiancée. It was not Ariella's face that he saw last night but the scarred face of his ex-fiancée. He also thought back to how tender they were to each other when they were together.
Ariella was not on his mind at that moment, but his ex-fiancée. Maybe he couldn't stand it coming back to his mind so he chose not to continue their honeymoon and avoided Ariella.
Ariella also recovered from heartbreak, but she is trying to forget all the pains in her chest left by her ex-boyfriend who betrayed her.
One of the reasons why she married Anton was to forget about failed love.
If she hadn't caught Tanner cheating on her, he might still be cheating on her today. Fortunately, she realized her worth and self was not worthy of Tanner.
She had even promised herself that she would never love again, but now she is Anton's perfect wife.
Can they learn to love each other if they both have pain in their hearts?...
"Will you go with me? Or just stay here and wait for me?" Anton asked.
"I will just take a bath," she answered.
He mockingly and crazily smiled as the idea entered his mind. His eyes dilated with lust as he looked at her.
Ariella almost laughed because she knew that kind of look. She knew what he was thinking.
She tapped his shoulder and sneered. "Just wait for me here, okay?"
He gave him a smile and said, "Take your time. You don't have to hurry."
Before she opened the door, she blinked at him and widen her smile. She said, "Wait for me here, okay?"
He nodded with a smile on his face.
He sat on the bed while waiting for her when she received a call from an unknown number.
He stared at his phone, reading the numbers. He ignored it because it was an unknown number.
Again, his phone ring and vibrate. He picked it up and stared at the unknown number that calling.
He answered the call but he didn't say a word.
It took a few more seconds before the caller speak.
"Hello?" a woman said on the other line. Her voice was soft which reminds him of his ex-fiancée's voice.
He doesn't want to admit to himself that he misses her voice. Maybe, he really just remembered her.
But, who is the girl who called her with a sweet and soft voice?
