CHAPTER 50
While they were there in the kitchen, Ariella came and saw them.
"What are you talking about?" she asked while walking towards them.
She noticed earlier that Anton was gone and he hadn't returned yet, so she was looking for where he was. "Oh, what happened?" she asked when she noticed the medicine kit on the table and Nanny Yel's bandaged hand.
Nanny Yel immediately stood up when she arrived.
"What happened to Nanny Yel?" she asked Anton.
"It was just an accident, my wife. You have nothing to worry about," he said and smiled before approaching her.
She turned her gaze to her Dad who was next to Nanny Yel.
She frowned slightly as she looked at her.
He immediately read Ariella's mind, so he moved away from Nanny Yel.
She almost laughed because of her Dad especially when he walked away because of what she noticed.
"Do you need anything else, Ma'am?" Nanny Yel asked.
"I can do it, Nanny. Just take a rest for a moment," she replied.
She just bowed her head in respect and agreement. Lance couldn't take his eyes off her as if that was indicating something.
"Uhmm, Dad, can we talk?" Anton asked.
He looked at her first before turning his gaze to Ariella, and finally to Nanny Yel.
He didn't speak.
Anton sat down for a moment while Lance was still standing.
"Dad, please? Just for a while.” Ariella said.
He could no longer refuse Ariella's wishes, so he sat down.
"Uhm, Nanny Yel, just prepare some ice coffee for us," she said, which she immediately obeyed.
"Yes ma'am."
Anton clears his throat first as preparation.
"Dad, I just want to personally apologize for what happened," his introduction before holding Ariella's hand.
Ariella looked at him for a moment before returning her gaze to her Dad who was in front of them.
He didn't say even a single word but listened to him.
"I know I hurt your daughter emotionally, that's why I am proving myself that I won't do it again," he added.
"Actions are better than words, Anton, remember that," he said seriously.
"I'm sorry, Dad. I hope you can also give me a chance. I hope you can forgive me.”
"Forgive me?" a sudden question from Madam Victoria that shocked and surprised them, so all their attention turned to her.
"Grandma." Anton said.
She walked towards them.
"Why are you apologizing to him and asking for his forgiveness? Why did you have to do that?” she asked before turning her gaze to Lance.
"Uhmm, grandma...I made mistakes," he said.
She still couldn't understand his point, so she asked again. "Mistakes? What kind of mistake?”
Before he could answer, Nanny Yel arrived carrying a tray with only 3 glasses of ice coffee.
She dropped it on the table.
"You don't know what your grandson did to my daughter?" Lance asked.
They all looked at each other. It was a mystery to her what he meant, while Nanny Yel also stopped because of what he said. Soon she ignored that and placed each glass of iced coffee in front of them.
“What do you mean? Did he do something wrong or do you just think it was wrong?”
"Uhmm Granda..."
"Definitely wrong. Your grandson hurt my daughter.”
"Daddy," Ariella scolded.
Madam Victoria looked at Anton with a frown.
"I will explain, Grandma-" he didn't finish what he said when the ice coffee accidentally got stuck on his shirt when Nanny Yel was about to place the ice coffee in front of him.
Nanny Yel panicked and immediately asked for a dispensation while wiping his clothes. “Oh, I'm sorry, Sir. I'm really sorry. I did not mean."
"Oh, what did you do!" Madam Victoria said irritably.
"It's okay, Nanny. Just go back to your work," Anton said calmly while wiping his clothes.
"Are you hurt? Are you okay?” Ariella asked while also wiping his clothes.
"I am really sorry, Sir."
"You stupid maid!" Madam Victoria yelled at her as she poked her.
"Grandma! It's okay. Watch your words," Anton scolded her. "Nanny, just go back to your work or if you are done with your tasks, you can take a rest," he added.
"Okay, sir. I am sorry again," she said before she left, but before that she and Lance looked at each other.
Ariella left for a while, and when she came back she had a towel with her.
She gave it to Anton to use temporarily, and sat down again.
"So, going back to the topic, what did you do to Ariella?" Madam Victoria asked before sitting down.
"Anton, why don't you tell your grandmother about your wrong doings?" Lance said.
Anton and Ariella looked at each other first as if saying something in mind.
"Uhmm... I hurt Ariella emotionally. I ruined her trust for me. But, we fixed it.”
"Oh, so..."
"Why don't you tell her about your ex-girlfriend?" said Lance.
"What do you mean?" she asked confusedly before looking at Anton. "About Cindy?"
"It's a long story, grandma. The important thing is we fixed it and we're okay," he answered before holding Ariella's hand and smiling sweetly while looking at her.
Lance just let out a deep sigh.
"Okay. That's good to hear.”
Kurt arrived a few seconds later.
"Granny, let's go home," he said. Madam Victoria immediately stood up.
"Oh, we need to go now," she said.
Anton stood up to lead them out.
"You can go home tomorrow. It is safer to travel in the morning. It is better if you sleep here," said Anton.
"Indeed. Here you spend the night. There are still vacant rooms upstairs," Ariella agreed.
"No, no, no. We have to go home now. I still have somewhere to go," said Kurt.
"Where else are you going, Kurt?" Anton asked.
Kurt widened his smile, saying, "Secret."
"We have to go home now. I know I won't be comfortable if I sleep here," said Madam Victoria.
"Are you sure, grandma? It would be better-”
"¿Tengo que repeat?" (Do I have to repeat?) Madam Victoria asked so Ariella didn't finish what she was supposed to say.
Ariella couldn't speak and was unable to do it, so she just let her go.
"We will go now. No need to come with us," she added.
Anton and Ariella just looked at each other.
"Bye bro. Bye, sis," Kurt said while waving his hand.
"Take care," said Anton.
They have left. As Madam Victoria said, she did not come with them any further and they stayed inside.
A few moments later, Ara came to invite her Dad to come home.
"Dad, let's go home? I am sleepy and tired," she said and there was a trace of sleepiness in her eyes and the wants to take a rest.
"Where did you get tired?" asked his Dad.
"Dad," she called grumblingly.
"You can sleep here for a night. We will take you home tomorrow," said Anton. Ariella agreed with what he said.
"I agree. Dad, it would be better if you sleep here first. Please?”
“It's exciting! Dad, can we sleep here first? I can't walk anymore to commute. I am really tired," she said as if she was weak but she was only acting to persuade their father to agree.
"We will take you home tomorrow morning," Anton said.
"Please, Dad. Just for
a night," Ariella said as if a little kid begging her father.
"Okay, okay," he said.
Ara was very happy as well as Anton and Ariella.
“Where's our room?” Ara asked.
Ariella almost laughed.
