Confessed
CHAPTER 63
CONFESSIONS
Ariella took a deep breath as she waited for the right time and confidently got out of the car.
Just earlier, Anton called and she answered it because she wanted to tell him something.
Now, she's currently in the car, her friend's car, while thinking deeply. She knew that Anton was waiting for her inside La Villa Restaurant.
"Don't stress yourself, okay? Always remember your baby,” she reminded.
"Yeah. Thanks a lot," she replied.
"No problem. You have to decide for you and your baby. I know you will be okay soon."
She smiled somehow, then she got out of the car.
She went inside and immediately saw him waiting for her.
Anton immediately approached her upon seeing her.
"My wife," he called and hugged her so tight.
"Let go of me," she whispered, which he obeyed.
They sat down.
"Thanks, you are finally here. I am so worried about you. I don't know where you go. I can't even track your location,” he said worriedly.
"I just came here to tell you something. I thought about it several times and my decision was final," she said seriously with a straight look.
"What do you mean, my wife? What are you saying?”
She sighed deeply.
"Why don't you tell me directly the truth? I will accept it. I won't force you to love me purely. Just tell me," she said, trying to stop herself from crying again.
"What are you saying?" he asked.
"You're not a moron. You know what I mean. Just tell me. Don't make me stupid. Just tell me so I won't force myself on you.”
"My wife...what do you mean?" he asked again.
"Okay. You still love her, don't you?"
Anton couldn't answer right away but just kept on looking at her.
Ariella already got the answer she needed even if he didn't say it. It is obvious in his eyes.
She couldn't stop her tears anymore. Her tears fell so she lowered her head and wiped her cheek.
"You don't have to answer it anymore," she said. "It's already clear to me. You don't have to fool me this way. You can tell me directly without fooling me, so that I won't expect your love,” she added.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I love you," he said and his voice cracked.
“Where's the love there? That's what I thought too, that you loved me. I just expected too much. I really thought you loved me, so much….it was just too much of an assumption.”
Her tears fell again and she wiped them again. She didn't even look at him. Her head was only tilted because the moment their eyes met, she might start to shed more tears and she couldn't stop herself anymore.
“I am r-really s-sorry. I'm so sorry,” those are the words that only come out of his mouth. That's all he could say.
“She's still there? You still love her, don't you?” she asked, then finally looked him in the eyes.
Anton couldn't answer right away. It seems like his tongue was bent.
Minute passed but no words came out of his mouth.
“Tell me honestly, Anton. Please. Don't make me a fool. Do you still love her?”
“I'm sorry. I-im…I'm so sorry.”
"Is it so hard to say yes or no? Huh? Please? Tell me so I don't have to hope anymore. I won't force you to love me if you still love her. I won't force you to choose between us, and I won't force you to be mine when I know you won't be."
"It's not important if I still love her or not. We are married-”
"Exactly. We are married-... What's the point of marriage without love? It's just papers. A marriage will never be enough if they don't love each other, if you don't love me."
"But I love you."
What he said made her stop like a robot whose battery had been removed.
A couple of minutes passed. She's still staring at him as if there is something wrong.
Then, she spoke, "But you still love her. In 100 percent of your love, I only have 30 percent and the rest is for her, still for her. You don't love me that much, Anton."
She let out a deep sigh after saying those to him.
A moment later, she felt hungry, then she remembered her baby in her tummy. It occurred to her that her baby was already hungry.
Then, she felt a little shy and restless. She doesn't have the courage yet to tell him to order some food, not just drinks.
Her stomach is bloated and she can't bear it anymore, especially since she knows it will affect her baby's health.
She was a bit shy but she spoke. "Can we eat first? I-im…I'm hungry.”
"Sure. Sure. No problem," he replied and called the waitress. She handed them the menu. "Just pick what you want."
After she picked what foods she wanted, she handed him the menu.
"Let's just talk about it later after our meal. I'm just r-really h-hungry,” she said without looking at him.
"Okay. But after that, let's go home, okay?"
She didn't reply. She really wants to tell him about something. Also, she didn't want to go home until now, that's why she didn't reply to what he said earlier.
After a couple of minutes, the food they ordered was served to them.
"Let's eat," he said.
They eat silently just like before. Ariella enjoyed the food, no, it's her baby. She likes the food.
After their meal, they talked.
"I have something to tell you," she said. She could feel the pounding of her chest.
"What is it?" he asked.
She took a deep breath before she spoke, "Let's have a divorce."
His eyes widened in shock upon hearing the word 'divorce' from her.
"What are you saying? Divorce? N-no. No! I don't want to."
"We can't fix our relationship anymore. You don't love me, Anton. I don't want to suffer in pain because of you. I want a man who will love me eternally….and that man was not you.”
He held her hands and begged. "Please, my wife. No. I don't want to. I can't live my life without you, you know that."
"But you broke me already. You ruined my trust. You crumpled me like paper. You destroy me. You hurt me. You put me in pain. You...you don't love me, Anton. I can't stay in this kind of relationship.”
"Please, my wife. Let's talk about it. I do not want to lose you. I need you.”
"You only need me, but you don't love me. You are so unfair, Anton. I love you but you can't love me. The love you make me feel is fake. Just set me free if you can't love me truly.”
“I can't. No. No. I can't. We can fix it-”
“Think about it, Anton. Just set me free if you will always put me in pain. You know, I don't deserve this. I also don't want this….but we have to…. We have to set ourselves free. Maybe we are not destined for each other.”
“No, my wife. You're just tired, that's why you're saying that.”
“Just tired? You don't have an idea how much pain I am e
nduring because of you.”
“My wife, please. I can't. I'd rather die than live without you.”
“Then let's see.”
