Admit it
CHAPTER 64
Admit it
Anton was deep in thought as he lay on the sofa. He doesn't want to go to work or even eat.
He was restless, especially thinking about what Ariella said yesterday.
He's unable to think and decide properly. Just like what they talked about yesterday, Ariella wants a divorce. Of course, he disagreed with what she wanted, but her decision was final. Even if he disagrees, she will insist on what she wants and file a divorce papers.
He really can't lose her. Now, he's stressed and not okay.
He called her twice but she didn't answer, and sent her messages but she didn't reply even a single word.
In addition, he didn't know where he was going. He doesn't even know where she is. He already looked for her in his in-laws' condominium but she's not there.
Just earlier, his father-in-law confronted him and punched his face in anger.
He was so restless. He wants to go and talk to Ariella but he doesn't know she is. Even when he calls her phone, she doesn't answer it
He knows that if he talk to her,lp he knows that Ariella will change her mind if they talk properly.
He just can't sit there and wait for her to talk to him, so he drove even though he doesn't know where he will go.
While driving, he's trying to contact her but still, she didn't answer his call.
He didn't know what to do and who to ask.
He just kept driving even though he didn't know where he was going.
After a couple of minutes, he tried to call her again, and finally, she answered it.
He immediately said, "My wife."
"Have you thought about it?" she asked instead of saying hello or something.
"I won't agree. I dont want to. Let's just fix it, my wife. I won't do it again. I will change myself.”
"I'm so tired. Even if I force myself to give you another chance, I still can't. You broke me already...now you can't fix it again. I'm so tired, Anton."
"Please, my wife. Forgive me. I will do everything. Just tell me what you want me to do. We can still fix it. I'm willing to do anything you want me to do just don't leave me."
At that moment, tears were falling while he was driving.
"Don't leave me, my wife. Let's just fix it. You love me, don't you?"
Even though he couldn't see Ariella, he knew she was crying because he could hear her.
At this moment, he is keeping his heart strong so that he does not fall into sadness.
"You know I love you, and because of that, you abused me. You took advantage of my love for you because I love you and I am kind. You're thinking I will forgive you again and again because you know I love you.”
"Let's talk, my wife. Please. Let's make it clear. Please give me some time to think.”
“Every time I see you, it breaks me even more. I remember everything you did and it's hurting me so bad. I am enduring the pain which I did not deserve.”
He let his tears fall while listening to her. He knew she was crying.
He suddenly stopped the car and parked it somewhere. He really can't focus on driving because of his feelings.
His head was on the steering wheel as his tears continued to fall.
He couldn't help but cry.
Then, suddenly, he wiped his years away and took his phone to call her again.
At first, he's staring at her phone number then puts it back in his bag.
He remembered what she said earlier, every single word that she said.
He stopped crying as if he was suddenly blown away by the wind.
He thought deeply and it took an hour before he picked up his phone again.
Now, he has the courage to call her again to tell her something.
At first, Ariella declined the call but he tried again until she answered it for the second time.
"Can we talk in person? Please?” he requested in his calm voice.
"Have you thought about it?" she asked instead of answering him.
“Yes. Even if it is against my will. If that's what you want, if that will make you happy and take you away from pain….then….I want the best for you,” he said.
“I hope you really did.”
“Can we talk personally now?
“I'll text you the location,” she replied and immediately ended the call.
He was supposed to say ‘I love you’ to her but she ended the call immediately.
After he saw the message, he drove away.
It only took 15 minutes before he arrived at the location she sent.
He parked there and got out of the car.
He paused for a moment while looking at the place with deep thoughts in his mind. After a minute, he went inside and looked for her.
In the VIP room, Ariella was there and waiting for him. She's just alone there.
He went straight there and saw her sipping juice while looking out the window.
He didn't speak or even call her, and approached her silently.
He hugged her from the back and it shocked her.
"I missed you," he whispered.
"What are you doing?" she asked. “Stop. Have a seat.”
He obeyed what she had said.
"Are you really sure about this? Can't we fix it anymore? I know we can get through this if you don't give up on our relationship," he said.
"My decision was final, Anton. It really seems like we are not compatible with each other ... .Maybe she is the one meant for you and not me. We can't force destiny because if we insist, it will ruin our future.”
He lowered his head and avoided looking at her directly in her eyes because it discourages him.
"We tried, didn't we?" she asked.
He turned his gaze to her when she asked that.
He replied, “Yes, we tried….we can still…please. Think about it clearly. You're the only one I want to be with forever."
"Really? So why did you break my heart? Why did you push me away? Why….you fool me? Can't you really forget her? Is it really hard? You know you are married to me, you have me….but now I know I don't have you. Do you still love her?”
Upon hearing those, his tongue was bent. No words came out of his mouth and as if he was mute.
But his eyes won't lie even if he couldn't tell her directly, she could see the answer through his eyes.
“Why can't you speak? Are you still going to fool me? Why can't you admit it? Can't you be true to yourself? You are not only fooling me but also yourself. Why don't you tell me so I don't talk to you like a fool."
Anton took the courage to speak but he found it hard. How could he tell her personally the truth? He knew Ariella would be very hurt.
"One last question, please. Don't make me a fool, Anton. Just yes or no. Do you still love Cindy?”
He lowered his head, and said, "Yes. I admit it. I still love her and it's so hard to forget her. But believe me or not, I tried to.” Then, he turned his gaze back to her.
Ariella tried to hold her tears but she couldn't handle it so it fell but she immediately wiped it. She was trying to build up her courage so that she wouldn't end up crying a lot.
"I love you, believe me, but even if I love you, I still can't forget her. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything.”
Even Anton couldn't stop the tears from falling.
He held her hand, saying, “But I
can't lose you. You're all I need."
"JUST THE ONE YOU NEED," he said emphatically. "...BUT NOT THE ONE YOU LOVE," she continued.
