CHAPTER 103
“Rae! What are you doing here? I thought you were in bed rest?” Rafa greeted me when I entered their workplace.
I didn't look at her and just went straight to my old seat and sat there. As far as I know, it's their lunch break today so she's the only one I came here today. Yerim resigned three months ago so Rafa is the only one left here.
“I am fine. I just missed coming here,” I told her and looked around.
Nothing has changed here. It still looks the same. I suddenly miss going in here every day and editing a cot manuscript, coming up with new ideas for the next book to pass, and chasing a deadline. It’s also been a long time since I stopped writing. The movie adaptation of the last story I wrote, I can say was successful. I am happy with the outcome and whenever I want, I can bring back that memory to Tierra Fima.
"I missed writing and editing," I laughed and looked at Rafa.
She also smiled broadly as she stared at me.
“You changed a lot, Rae. You've changed so much and it's all so great, so much help for you. I’m so happy for you,” she answered me seriously.
I felt my heart leap when I heard that. Only now did it tell me something like this so I couldn’t help but be emotional. My pregnancy hormones added that it really made everyone suffer, especially me and Levi.
"I'm happy to go back here someday if I'm still allowed to," I told her tearfully.
She laughed then stood up and approached me.
“I'm infected with your hormones! Is there a gender already?” She asked me and hugged me for a moment.
I shook and touched my stomach.
“Not yet, Raf. Two more months to find out,” I replied and stood up.
She guided me outside the work place and enjoyed eating at the nearest restaurant. When we started eating, we just called Yerim because it was busy right now for her half-sister’s wedding. We were exposed to her haggard appearance so we almost burst out laughing.
When Rafa and I finished lunch, I decided to go to Levi's office. As soon as I entered the building, I noticed that everyone was staring at me until I entered the elevator. When I got off the floor of his office, Jaxon greeted me. It looked like it was going to pass me so I tapped him on the arm.
"Still ignoring me, huh?" I tease him.
It scratched the side of his head and smiled.
“I’m trying to move on here, Rae. Stop bothering me. You too, I might take you back from him,” he reciprocated to me so we both laughed.
The last time we talked was the one before we headed to Tierra Fima. Before that happened to me what Noah did. I cleared everything out and offered a friendship with him but he refused — which I understand because I know how he feels about me. I just hope he finds the right woman for him.
After we talked, I went straight to Levi's office. I just nodded at Kat as if she would have prevented me from entering. When I opened the door, I saw Levi and Anne talking.
Levi looked at me and immediately stood up when he saw me, even Anne. I went straight to him and kissed him on the lips.
"I just passed by," I told him sparingly.
I could feel him wrapping his hand around my waist.
“Let’s go home together. You can wait for me here,” he told me softly so I smiled.
"Maybe you still have an important meeting—"
“This is not so important. I was just talking to her about the renovation of Hotel Tierra. It's going to end, too,” he interrupted me so I didn't do anything anymore.
I ignored Anne as I could see her staring straight at me. I just sat on the couch there and read a few magazines. Some time later, Levi suddenly came out and left Anne and me inside. I decided to just ignore her because I was avoiding stress but I was surprised when she suddenly approached me so I frowned at her.
“I’m—”
"I'm sorry, Astraea," she interrupted me, which surprised me.
“Levi told me about your condition and I’m so sorry on showing up with him suddenly the other day. I just really want to apologize to you, I didn’t know you were in that situation,” she continued.
I didn't know what to say to her so I just kept looking at her. It bit her lower lip and looked at me intently.
“I like Levi. I really am. But I’m not that desperate to ruin a family just to have him and I’m sure that won’t happen because I know he loves you so much. I’m just really used to us being close to each other because you weren’t there before, but don’t get me wrong, please. I’m just his childhood friend and he never liked me back before and I understand that. I understand better now so…” She paused and bit her lower lip again.
I couldn't stop a smile from appearing on my lips because of what I heard. I can’t deny she was different from Mari and Hoseah. I can feel that she’s a good woman and I’m grateful for that thing.
"I'll talk to him to get you back as an architect to our house," I told her sparingly and just smiled at her.
I saw the joy in her eyes before she finally hugged me. After that, she came out. I breathed a sigh of relief.
I admit she's good at her profession. Levi would not get her as a family architect if not. And I'm sure she will do good at this dream house. I want it to be perfect as well.
