CHAPTER 84
Earlier, Levi left the town house to go to the farm. To my knowledge, the reason we come here is because now's the harvest season and they needed him here. His Uncle Raul is here and so is his family. They also have a mansion here so I wasn't surprised at all.
When I woke up earlier, he even left a note next to the breakfast he cooked for me and his daughter. He wants us to also go there to visit Dad Henry and Mama Mel. Although I don't want to leave here now because of laziness, I couldn't do anything at all when our pick-up arrived.
"Where are we going, mommy?" My daughter asked me when we got in the car.
I just smiled sparingly at it.
"Let's go to daddy," I replied to her before she hugged my arm.
We briefly crossed the road to the farm. If I only memorized the way there, I would rather just walk because it's still early and I'm sure the breeze is still nice.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a large number of farmers. My eyes immediately searched for my daughter's father but it was hard for me to see because I wasn't wearing contact lenses. Annoying because I missed that this morning!
"Rae!" Someone called my name.
I turned to that caller of my name and saw Avery, Levi's half-cousin. It is said that it was adopted by his Uncle Raul. There is no doubt that the Acuzars also harbor kindness. They’re adopting a child from a foster home and this is one of them.
“I knew it was you. It’s good that Levi brought you here,” she greeted me and kissed me.
Then it looked at my daughter who was just silently staring at her.
“Your daughter is really beautiful. She looks very much like Levi,” she praised then went down so that Asteria could be her level.
“Hi, I’m your Aunt Avery. It’s so nice to see you again, huh,” she greeted my daughter so I smiled.
I heard Ria greet her as well and the two of them continued their conversation. She’s good with kids. I heard that she is pregnant now and will be getting married soon. Fortunately, she has found the person she will be with forever. I know her base on Acel’s story that she told me before. I admit I misjudged her and I was wrong about that. We all have a hidden shame in our whole being when it comes to love.
I just don’t know why in others, it is pure evil.
“Rae, can Ria go with me to our house? Our house is just near here. I’ll just introduce her to my fiancé. He really loves kids that’s why,” she said to me.
I looked at them both. I landed my eye on my daughter who’s smiling at me shyly so I laughed.
“Do you want to go with Aunt Avery?” I asked her.
Ria is the type of child who is easy to please. It quickly gets along with people she can get along with. Something I was afraid of then but when I found out it was hard to get inside her I became complacent.
My daughter simply nodded at me.
"Can I?" This embarrassing question makes me laugh even more.
“Of course, Love. Mommy and Daddy will come to you later. You should behave, okay?” I instructed her and turned back to Avery.
She even held it to her stomach quite obviously and then smiled at me widely.
“You’re the best! I’ll take care of her, I promise!” Glad she told me.
"You should," I said with a mixture of threats.
When they left, I continued to observe all around. The sun is starting to show so I can feel the pain on my skin.
I kept walking until I could get away from that part of the farm. I arrived at the extension of this barn. My mouth dropped open when I saw a bridge there and at the bottom was a very clear creek.
In its extreme clarity, it seems capable of explaining a vague relationship.
I close my eyes when the wind blows. It’s just slow but good and peaceful to feel. I took off the boots I was wearing and head to that bridge. I even noticed that there was a trace of water there that seemed to have someone come from here.
When I turned my gaze back to the water, it seemed to be pulling me. What I'm wearing rught now suits to this so well. I’m only wearing a white see-through dress and underneath that are my red shorts and bralette. I feel like I want to go swim.
"Astraea?"
“Holy shit!” I cussed when someone called my name out of the blue.
I quickly turned to see who it was. My eyes widened when I saw Noah, his body is soaking wet and only wearing shorts. His hair is still slightly dripping.
Now, that explained the soaking wet here. He is here.
I immediately looked away from him when I felt that it was strictly forbidden to look at him.
"W-what are you doing here?" Stuttering I asked him and took the boots I had laid on the bridge for a moment.
He suddenly smiled at me. He gently ran his hand through his wet hair and approached me.
When it got close to me, he just passed me and went to the other side.
“I always swim here. The water is so good that it gives you peace. I swear!” It was a happy answer for me so I looked at him.
He looks so innocent and timid. I suddenly remembered what he had told me the day before. That Levi impregnated his ex-girlfriend. This is why they became enemies. If so, why is Levi the only one so mad at him?
“Why are you alone? Aren't you with someone here?” I just asked him without saying anything.
It did not respond. Instead it suddenly stood up and fell into the water. I even screamed when I reached and got wet.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" He hissed while laughing so I just stared at it.
“I really come here alone. I don’t need someone to accompany me. You, why are you here?” he asked me again.
I went back to sitting there. I lowered my legs to reach the water. I smiled when I felt it warm a little.
"I was looking for Levi and I accidentally saw it," I simply replied to him.
I saw the frown on its forehead.
“Oh, yeah. Levi’s with Anne. They went to the other island because it is currently being renovated. I'm just not sure if they're back already,” he said so I looked at him.
Before I could react, he suddenly touched my wrist. It was too late for me to react because it suddenly pulled me causing me to fall into the water.
“Wait—” I shouted before I finally sank into the water.
As soon as half of my body rose in the water, I could hear his laughter so I immediately sprinkled water on his face.
Noah laughed again which made me stared at him. Before I could speak, I almost screamed again when I heard someone sneeze.
"Enjoying his company, huh?"
When I looked back at it, my jaw almost dropped when I saw him. With the woman Noah mentioned just now.
I bit my lower lip. I blinked twice while slowly swimming closer to the shallow part. My chest continued to pound hard. I was about to get out of the water when I felt someone holding my hand from below.
I immediately look at Noah. It wasn’t looking at me, but at Levi. Some time later, his expression suddenly hardened as they seemed to be measuring the look of the two.
“Stop leaving her for another woman, Levi. She’s not a thing. The last time I remembered you left someone for another one, it cost you everything,” Noah told him meaningfully.
My mouth just fell open. What is he talking about this time?
