CHAPTER 98
I felt my chest gradually heavier because of what I heard. Noah raped his fiancé? Why?!
Maybe Levi saw the questioning in my eyes. It sighed violently.
“He was too desperate to get all his inheritance. A grandson was what his daddy asked for in return to get it and Noah wanted it so bad he didn’t think Adianna,” he continued.
“But why did you let her…”
I saw the pain in his eyes before answering.
“I don’t know how to swim that time. I just recently learned how to swim because I often go to Tierra Fima…” he paused and looked away from me. “… But the real reason was I don’t want to be a dumbass anymore who didn’t do anything to save someone from drowning. That fucking scenario gives me nightmares almost every night,” he finally said.
I could feel the blockage of my throat as I looked at him. I tried to clear my throat and immediately stood up and went to him. I stood in front of him. Because it was high, I looked up at him who was now looking at me.
“I’m sorry for not listening to you,” I almost whispered to myself.
He bit his lower lip and gently licked it. He still smiled.
"This is the first time you say sorry to me first, huh," he said teasingly so I was pissed.
“But I want you to know, what Anne has said to you wasn’t true. You don’t deserve to be disrespected like that. I will never let that happen to you…” he said softly to me and reached for my lips.
He bent down and lifted my chin so that he could finally reach my lips. I was about to follow his kiss when all of a sudden there was a thud so Levi and I immediately turned our attention to it.
“Why haven't you changed your passcode yet? Well, I just saw a kiss! What if I saw something else here?!” Full of irritation Yerim opened, two paper bags at her feet.
I just got a palm on my face and Levi laughed.
-
“So, when is your wedding? Everything is now settled,” Yerim asked as she sat on the sofa.
I kept looking at Asteria who was busy watching Cartoon Network. We just finished having breakfast with Yerim. She said she came from her half-sister's house so she went straight here to sleep. Her condo is still too far from here and she is said to be very tired. I also don’t know this woman why didn’t just rest there. Maybe her half-sister is no longer there because of early work.
“I’m going to the prison to talk to Noah and after that, I’ll meet Georgina,” Levi answered her.
I frowned when I heard that woman’s name.
"Why are you talking to Noah?" I asked him before Yerim could speak.
He tilted his head and looked at me intently. "I just have something to say," he said sparingly.
I just nodded and turned my attention back to the TV.
"You mean Georgina Williams?" Yerim suddenly asked which made me look at her.
“Yes, for wedding planning. I want it to happen by next week,” Levi simply answered her so I was just shaken.
He still doesn’t change that. He was really in a hurry.
“Oh my god! The famous designer Georgina Williams? Seriously! Can I come along? I'm a big fan of her!” Yerim said hysterically so I just laughed.
I no longer know how Levi and Yerim agreed to come together to meet the said Georgina Williams. I was already busy taking care of Ria so I ignored it.
"Mommy, when are we going home to Grandpa?" My daughter suddenly asked me as I combed her hair.
"We'll go there tomorrow, baby," I said and continued what I was doing.
Sometime later, before I could speak again, I winced suddenly when I felt strange dizziness, but that was only for a moment.
I first left Ria in the room to get some water. Levi entered the kitchen correctly so I followed him.
“I thought that was already settled? Not yet. I hope you told me right away,” he said angrily. He was talking on the phone.
I quietly fetched water and waited for him to finish. When the call ended, he turned to me. Its forehead is already furrowed.
“Why? Are you okay?” I asked him and immediately held his hand.
He just scratched the side of his head and looked at me.
“The farm is at stake right now. It was Paul who called to say that the plants continued to wither. There is also a problem with the Tierra hotel,” he told me with a problem.
I smiled at him and lifted my hand to stretch his forehead.
“We’ll be fine here. Maybe that will be for a while.”
“But what about our wedding? I want to marry you, Lumiere. I don’t want to prolong this,” he answered me softly.
I couldn't stop my smile so I bit my lower lip.
“Our wedding can wait. I can also wait, I won't be lost. It’s fine,” I convinced him because I knew he would choose to stay here for the wedding.
He stared at me for a moment before giving me a short kiss. It was superficial but delicious.
“Fine, wait for me here. I will send you to the mansion before I leave,” he said lightly then kissed me again.
I'm sure everything will be fine after this. I also want our wedding to be perfect that's why I let Levi go to handle the problem on the farm. I don't him to think of it while the wedding happens. It's better to solve whatever the problem is right away before it all catches up and make it even bigger. I don't want that to happen. I can see how tired Levi is and I want him to get a good rest.
