CHAPTER 99
Levi
I'll be back, soon. I can't wait to see you:*
I don't know if I'll be happy with that text. I can't even smile. Yesterday, I was still okay. I could still smile because I knew he was safe and alive. I don’t know what happened today. I notice my mood swings getting worse and worse. I'm disgusted again! Also, he hadn't talked to everyone for five days and had just called to say he was fine. It’s been almost a week since he arrived at Tierra Fima. I feel like I miss him so much!
To Levi
Suit yourself, Levi! It's tiring to wait!
Disgusted, I threw my cellphone on the sofa and sat down on it.
“It's only been a few months before you give birth. Aren’t you excited?” I heard Celine ask Avery, they both sat next to me.
I even noticed the two glancing at me as I stared at Avery's big belly.
“I’m kinda scared. I don't know what to do,” Avery said.
"Isn't Levi coming home yet, Rae?" I heard more questions about it.
I just shrugged at them. I looked at them both waiting for my answer so I was blown away.
I really can’t help but be impatient!
“I don’t know. He didn’t say anything,” I told them lazily and continued to stare at her stomach.
"Are you still having your diet, Rae?" Celine suddenly asked me so I looked at her.
I saw her stare at me intently as she frowned.
"Why?" I ask.
"Nothing. I just noticed you getting fat. Weird,” she commented to me and stared at me even more.
I was stunned to stare at Avery's stomach and examined my arm. I don't see anything weird or maybe, she's just hallucinating. This woman is always like this.
I didn't say a word until my daughter came with her Grandpa. They came from outside.
When lunch came, we ate together. The only ones staying in this house are the parents of Levi, Celine, Jaxon, and the maids. Avery only visited once because she already had her own house with her fiancée.
I kinda feel uncomfortable. I feel like they are all watching me.
When we finished, Ria and I rested in the living room for a while.
I still want Levi here with me somehow. I really want to see him but he won't let me! Damn it!
"Astraea?"
I turned to the person who called my name. I stopped watching when I saw Levi’s Mom, Aunt Criselda.
"Auntie…"
“Did Levi call you again? How are you?” She greeted me with a smile and sat down next to me.
“I'm fine, Auntie. He texted before but now he didn't again,” I replied to her.
"He told me about the wedding next week. Anyway, why does something seem strange to you?” She asked me.
My forehead furrowed and I glanced at my sleeping daughter.
"I don't know," I replied hesitantly.
She was still staring at me before changing the subject so I could breathe easily.
-
“Stop being so negative! Go now so you can find out how he is there,” Rafa said annoyed to me.
I looked at her badly then frowned. After her long vacation without even telling me, she was like this?
"If you can't wait for tomorrow night, stop complaining about that," she said reluctantly and left me, referring to Levi's return.
"Where are you going?!" Annoyed, I shouted at her. That almost resonated throughout the mansion.
"I'll get something to eat instead of listening to your rants!" She shouted back at me so I was just depreciated.
It’s really embarrassing sometimes.
I just picked up my cellphone and initialed Levi's number. My annoyance flared up and gradually turned to anger when he didn’t answer it. Previously, when I called a ring hadn’t even ended, he was already answering! Now, how many times have I called but still nothing!
Why is this man like this?!
I was so annoyed that I went to my room and just went to sleep.
The next day, I feel like I want to spend the night. Everyone in the mansion noticed me for being uncomfortable. Even Uncle Saldy is getting irritated at me because of my being irritated.
My god! It's not my fault!
"What's wrong with you? Do you have a period?" Maxim asked me while we were at the poolside.
I ignored her. I just stayed focused on my cellphone and I texted Levi. Yesterday, he still didn't reply to my texts, that motherfucker!
"Dammit!" I hissed.
"Hey, hey! Are you cursing at me?"
I immediately look at Maxim then I shook my head, "No, Max. I’m sorry."
She stepped aside from my seat and looked at me, "Are you there, Rae? Your mood swing is getting worse. You never used to be like that," she commented to me.
I just sip on my coffee and look straight at her, "I don't know, Max. It's just that…"
"It's just that what? Earlier you suddenly scolded Uncle Saldy and Avery. You even shouted at Ria. What is wrong with you? Do you have a problem? Is there anything that I can help with?"
I shuddered and stared at the emptiness. I didn't finish my coffee because I suddenly didn't want it anymore, which I've been longing for lately.
I ran my palm through my hair. I hid my cellphone in my pocket and stood up, "I'm sorry, Max. Maybe I'm just tired."
"Really, huh? Don't you want to talk?" this serious question to me that I immediately shake my head.
She just hugged me so I turned my back on her. I was about to take a step when she call me again. "Why?"
"You need to go to the gym, Rae. You're getting fat."
What?
