Dangerous Smirk.
As I walked out of Mr Lawson's room, I kept wondering what made him apologize to me. He didn't look like the type of man that owned up to his mistake so his action took me by a huge surprise. I couldn't even say a word. I was astonished and my mind kept wandering to find the answer to that single action of his.
I frowned as I recalled the past events. He had asked me to escort him as a date to a very important meeting, gave me an expensive dress and even worse; he regarded me as his wife in the midst of everyone and was so relaxed about it. Then, he kissed me when I questioned him about it.
I sighed, rubbing my head. He was acting very strange and I wondered what the reason could be.
The moment I got home, the other creepy event sagged into my memory. That creeper…
Why does it feel like he had been watching me for a long time? I picked up the picture on my nightstand and observed it; it was the same picture I had seen with that strange man at the exit of Mr. Laswon's company. That morning, I had gone to Mr Lawson's office to give him his briefcase which he had forgotten at his master suite. Then, I lost my way and ran into a young man who for an unknown abrupt reason was with a picture of me and my daughter. At first, I hadn't thought much about it, but that man at the lobby made me question the hidden motive of the picture.
When I studied the picture, the dimmed lamp didn't provide much illumination, but I could still make out the figures in the picture. It was a picture of me and my daughter hugging at the front of her new school.
For the meantime, I must be more careful around strangers and unknown places; I have to do that for the safety of my family.
With a deep intake of breath, I dropped the picture and lay back on my bed. Mr Lawson had forgiven me for burning his jacket and asked me to follow him to a boutique to get a new jacket. I just hoped I wouldn't mess it up.

The limousine stopped at a grand mall, popularly visited by rich influential people; one of Queen Elizabeth's daughter in laws had once purchased clothes from it. The chauffeur stepped out and went to open the limousine's door for Mr Lawson. The pleasant scent of lavenders filled my nostrils as I stepped out of the car. The entire floor was marbled and a lot of rare flowers were planted at various angles of the mall. A golden statue stood majestically at the front of the mall, It was surrounded by a small alluring garden. Luxurious lamplights placed at each of the tiled walls blinked under the sunlight.
Mr Lawson got down and I followed him, walking close as his wheelchair glided towards the entrance of the mall. The wind was gusting through the corners of the man-like statue and birds relaxed on the statue, chirping. I took my time to look around, this place was freaking luxurious. The only time I had ever come this close to having this encounter was when I went on vacation to Hawaii. Despite the ache at my heart, I admitted; it was also where I met Rick.
A doorman standing before a huge door slightly bowed at us and opened the door.
"Welcome," the doorman said with a clear British accent.
I smiled at him. "Thanks."
We walked inside. Lots of interior designs were placed on the walls including rare great artworks and a huge chandelier brightened the hall. Mr Lawson was led by a male attendant into a lift and the lift shook as it ascended. When we got out of the lift, we were led into a room and I was directed to sit on a couch, waiting for the fashion designer to attend to Mr Lawson.
The male attendant came to us with a notepad.
"Please, can I get the details of the jacket you want?" He asked Mr Lawson.
Mr Lawson told him the details and he wrote it down with haste. Afterwards, Mr Lawson followed him and I was told to wait for him.
I curled my hands on my knees and I sat comfortably on the couch, watching as people walked about in the room. At a corner of the room, a lady was wearing a snow white lacy wedding gown. She swirled the wedding gown before her friends who looked at her gown in pure admiration and excitement.
"How is the gown?" She asked her friends, smiling broadly.
"It's beautiful!"
I studied the gown, it was indeed beautiful; it was extremely long and specs of silver stones glinted under the soft glow of the chandelier. My gaze softened and I looked at my bare hand, one day—maybe one day—that would be me preparing to get married. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't notice when a man sat beside me. I felt the sensation of something crawling under my skin before the man spoke.
"This is strange, I just found out that you're actually Mr Lawson's caretaker."
I clenched my knees and turned. His dark eyes stared deeply into mine. It was him; he was the man that had made me feel like I was at the edge of a cliff. The first time I saw him at the lobby, I was shaken to the bones. I tensed and looked around. He wouldn't dare to harm me in the midst of such a crowd.
He swept his dark eyes over my body in a lustful manner and leaned close to my ear.
"I must admit, you aren't that bad looking," he said with a dangerous smirk that sent a shiver down my spine.
