TEDDY BEAR GAME

Marie was walking to her house with fear since her dad was walking in an angry way which looked as if he was waiting for her to return home from the party, and she was in some sort of trouble. That thought came to her mind because that is how it had happened in the past. Delilah had given her enough reasons to be scared of something or the other as she did nothing else but complain about her to Mr. Jones.

“Why are you coming home so late?” Mr. Jones questioned her as soon as she reached the main gate. He opened the gate after he gave her a welcome like that.

“Dad, I am not so late. Maybe a little because of the power cut in the hall, but it is still not that late,” Marie replied feeling guilty for having gone to the party in the first place.

Her parents were not open-minded enough to accept that she had gone to a boy-girl party. She should have known that and not asked her dad for his permission to begin with. Why does everything good have to end up in a situation so weird, she thought. Once she entered her house, without getting a response from her father, she asked, “What happened, dad?”

Suddenly, her dad’s mood changed, and he replied in a series of sentences which were not only sweet, but also very loving. Marie used to wait for her father to talk to her this sweetly as Mr. Jones stayed disturbed due to office pressure most of the time. He would never be able to cut off from work entirely, even when he was at home. Calls and emails bugged him throughout the time.

Mr. Jones put his hand on her head and gave a subtle smile from one side. He answered, “Nothing, sweetheart.” “Go inside and freshen up.” “Hope you enjoyed the party.”

This made it pretty evident to her that something had definitely been up at home while she was away. But she was not in the mood to talk about it or ask because she was still having a good time in her mind as she remembered the party which she returned from.

As surprised as she was to see the atmosphere at home, she could not understand why her step-mom and step-sister had gone to bed at that time. It was not only early for them to go to bed, but it was also a big question since they had never gone to bed so early in front of her. Being in the room silently was one thing, but the lights of their rooms were also off. She didn't know what she should do because she shared the room with Rebecca.

The minute she entered her room, she tried to understand what Rebecca was up to because something was moving under the sheets near her private part at the bottom. She tried to focus and be able to guess what it must be, but in the meantime, Rebecca opened her eyes and pulled that thing at the top. She organized herself on the bed to sit up straight and asked, "Hello, Marie. How was the party?"

Marie was confused when she saw a teddy bear in Rebecca's hands which was coming out of the sheet since she brought it to the top. Marie did not know how to feel about it and what she should think because even if Rebecca was playing a game with a teddy bear, what kind of game it could have been as she had her eyes closed and was moving the teddy bear inside the sheet with which she had covered herself and that too near her bottom.

Not stressing over it anymore, Marie answered, “The party was great. In the end, there was a power cut in the hall, and some people broke the glass door to let us out as it would not open without electricity since it was electronic. It was fun.”

“You got stuck in the hall, you said?” Rebecca asked and commented, “How can that be fun?!”

“It was the first time ever that I experienced something like that, and like it or not, it was fun because mom and dad were not around. I was loving to be without their supervision because they don’t allow me to do fun things,” Marie justified.

“So, what ‘fun thing’ did you do?” Rebecca asked.

“Well, I am not telling that to you.”

“Why?” “Please tell me,” Rebecca requested.

“Promise me you will not tell mom and dad."

“I promise I will not tell mom and dad. Please tell me now.”

“I had my first kiss at the party,” Marie confessed.

Rebecca’s mouth opened showing how startled she was listening to her step-sister telling her that she had her first kiss at the first ever boy-girl party which she attended.

“You had your first kiss?” She repeated it at least two, three times just to be sure that she was hearing it right from Marie as she could not believe it when she heard it for the first time.

“Yes! I had my first kiss at the party,” Marie clarified.

“Tell me, who did you kiss?”

“Now that is the biggest secret.”

“Please tell me if you are my sister,” Rebecca said.

“Of course, I am your sister, but it is a secret.”

“You know what, I will tell you who I kissed if you tell me what happened at home,” Marie stated.

“What happened at home?” Rebecca asked her again, making it look as if she also did not know what happened at home despite the fact that she had been there.

“Why is dad in a bad mood? Mom has also gone to sleep so early,” Marie explained.

“Oh, between mom and dad, you are asking. They fought,” Rebecca mentioned.

“Fought? Why did they fight? Was it because I went to the party?”

“I don’t know. I was in the room when I could hear both of them fighting.”

“Didn't you check why they were fighting?” Marie asked.

“Listen, I can be busy with my own things too. But I was not interested in finding out the reason that they were fighting about,” Rebecca replied and continued, “Besides, they have been fighting for a couple of months. If you are getting everything that you need from them, don’t worry about anything else.”

Making a face at her sister, Marie turned to the other side and started getting ready to go to bed. In her mind, she was thinking about the possible reason for her parents to be fighting for a few months as Rebecca mentioned. Usually, the fights at home were either related to her or they happened because of her. But this time, the reason seemed to be different.

While she was lying down and trying to sleep, it suddenly crossed her mind to try what her sister was doing when she had the room all to herself. Marie turned around to check if Rebecca had slept. Once it was clear that she was in her dreamland, Marie immediately picked up her teddy bear as both of them had a similar kind of it just with a different color of the bow that was on it and carefully slid it under her sheets to her private part too..
