Chapter 4 Stay Focused
Aurora didn't expect that the son-in-law that Davis was looking for would be Gregory!
Looking at Gregory and Kelly who didn't know what they were talking about, Aurora suddenly remembered the last time she and Gregory met six years ago.
At that time, Gregory and Emily Shawn stood together like a match made in heaven, and she fell to the ground, tears kept falling, like an ugly duckling that no one loved.
Silas suddenly took Aurora's hand.
Gregory dealt with Kelly impatiently for a while before finding a reason to leave. He didn't like the way Kelly looked at him as if he was a mouthwatering piece of meat.
Seeing that Gregory was not very friendly, Davis didn't stop him from leaving and smiled apologetically.
Davis had wanted his daughter to show Gregory around, but Gregory wasn't going to give them the chance, he didn't forget why he was here today.
Aurora wore a champagne-colored off-the-shoulder dress tonight, which showed off her graceful figure beautifully.
When Gregory found Aurora, Aurora had already put on a coat. And she was being held in his arms by a handsome man with a cold look.
The place where the three were standing was not bright. Seeing Gregory approaching, Silas glanced over and leaned over to kiss Aurora.
Aurora didn't understand why Silas suddenly kissed her, but she didn't say no. What Silas wanted her to cooperate with, as long as it didn't violate the principle, she had no objection.
"Aura..." Gregory's heart twitched fiercely, as if a knife was cutting through his heart.
Aurora froze when she heard Gregory's voice. Silas hugged her tightly. "Eh! Stay focused!
Aurora could feel Gregory's eyes fixed on her back, and she sighed, but she didn't look back.
She wrapped her arms around Silas's neck and tiptoed to respond enthusiastically to the man who was nominally her husband.
Seeing his loved one kissing another man skillfully in front of his eyes, Gregory wanted to speak, but couldn't speak—
Aura, was this your choice? Were you really in love with this man? what about me? What was I to you?
"Mr. Gregory, why are you here? Hey, who are these two?" Kelly's sudden intrusion broke the tense situation.
Silas acted like he just discovered them. After nodding to both Gregory and Kelly, he left with his arms around Aurora.
At the gate of the venue, Aurora looked back and saw the pretty Miss Kelly holding Gregory's arm. They seemed to be a good match.
Inside the silver Grand Cherokee.
Silas tenderly helped Aurora fasten her seat belt and remained silent. He knew that Aurora had something to say.
"Silas, you don't need to do this." Aurora was a little depressed. .
"What do you think is the quickest and most effective way to get that man to give up?" The looked forward with deep eyes.
"When did you know?" Aurora bowed her head in embarrassment.
Silas turned sideways, his hand touched Aurora's cherry lips and caressed gently, "Aura, don't forget who you are. Besides, I don't like other men touching you."
Moments later, Silas reached back and started the car.
Aurora felt a little bitter in her heart when she heard this.
When they got home, the two found Ulani asleep on the sofa. And the TV in the living room was showing The Big Red Dog Clifford cartoon.
Aurora turned off the TV, and Silas carried Ulani to her bedroom.
Aurora went back to her room and took a bath. When she was about to put on her pajamas, she suddenly found herself so distracted that she forgot to take her clothes.
Getting up from the bathtub, Aurora wrapped herself in a towel and opened the bathroom door. The towel was not big enough to cover her amorous feelings at all.
Outside the bathroom door, Silas was leaning against the wall, and he frowned when he saw Aurora come out just wrapped in a small bath towel.
Silas turned around and went to the closet to flip a knee-length coat out. He pulled the coat over Aurora. "Don't come out like this next time."
While Silas was taking a shower, Aurora quickly changed into her pajamas in the room.
Sitting on the big fluffy bed with her hands around her knees, Aurora was upset.
"Silas, let's talk." Aurora seemed to have made a decision as Silas walked out of the bathroom.
Holding Aurora in his arms, Silas asked, "Have you figured it out?"
"Silas, let's continue to be with each other, as we've done for the past three years." Aurora's last hesitation disappeared, and her beautiful sparkling eyes watched Silas.
She was waiting for his response.
"Good." he replied. Silas kissed his wife's cherry lips, and he licked them gently.
He didn't love her, she didn't love him, it was good to embrace each other and keep warm!
Under the same night sky, Gregory was standing by the window in nothing but a silk pajama. The window was wide open, and the cold wind howling in the winter night blew him cold.
Aura, you are so cruel...
Gregory always remembered that Aurora was like an elf who had fallen into the world - a long snow-white flowing dress, smooth blond hair, and blue eyes as clear as the sky, and she slammed into his heart.
During his time with Aurora, Gregory never doubted that they would be together forever. They used to be enviably happy. But why did that happen that day?
Didn't he love her? Why didn't he believe her?
"It's my fault, I'm so fucking blind, how could I fall in love with a man like you who doesn't distinguish right from wrong?"
"Gregory, the relationship between us is like this cup now. It's broken and has no future. Don't worry, I won't get in your way again. Goodbye!"
"Gregory, I don't love you anymore, you are nothing to me!"
"Gregory, I hate you..."
Aurora must not have known that when she turned to leave without hesitation, his heart was crushed to pieces.
How did he know at that time that Aurora really disappeared overnight from the land where he lived.
He had been looking for her for six years.
In the past six years, he had traveled through many cities, and he always thought that if he went to one more city, he might see her. He would not have been able to sustain himself had it not been for such a thought.
There was no way to describe how he felt when he learned that Aurora's departure had been orchestrated by her mother and Emily Shawn...
Aura, I really hated myself! I hated myself for being so proud and how I could leave you, my beloved, my only love.
On this trip to Chicago, he also held such an unrealistic fantasy, thinking that he might be able to find her. Unexpectedly, the dream would come true in reality.
But there was someone else by her side.
"Aura, only I can kiss you, you are mine!" The first time he kissed Aurora, her face was flushed, and he deliberately teased her.
"Ditto." She replied softly and shyly.
But Aura, you kissed someone, right in front of me.
Did you know that my heart was dying at that moment? No, you didn't want me for a long time, didn't you? How could you care what I think?
The wind blowing in through the window became colder, and Gregory looked at the vast night outside the window, at a loss.
