Chapter 60: To Right A Wrong

The wolf mark looked good on Jade. That’s me right there… That was my mark on her heart.
But, I guess that wasn’t what my Jade was thinking as she began to cry more harshly after seeing it.
“Are you in pain somewhere, Jade? Do you want me to call a doctor?”
Well, f*ck doctors. I wasn’t going to let anyone else touch my Jade after claiming her, but if she was in pain, I’ll help to soothe it in any way possible…
I must have been too rough on her. It was her first time after all. I felt the blood trickle down in between her legs as I entered earlier.
Although I felt bad I had hurt her, it also made me feel happy inside. All these years, Jade kept her promise to me to be her first, and after this, I’m sure she’ll keep her promise of being the last and only woman in my life...
Why then was she crying so hard like this? Was I really that bestial earlier?
“K-Kix… This was… This was all a mistake,” she said when she could finally bring herself to speak. “We did something wrong. We should stop here,” she said.
“What?... Why?”
How can being fated mates ever be wrong?
Despite being naked, my mate stood from the bed, wounding the flimsy sheet of blanket around her body.
“What do you mean why? I have a boyfriend.”
“Well… You have a new one now,” I said back. I meant to humor her, but her face contorted in pain once more, and she began to sob again.
“J-Just what kind of person does that make me,” she said in between sobs.
“A person whose in-love and who just made the best decision in her life,” I said as I hugged her. She was still sobbing actively against my chest.
“No… This doesn’t make it right. This is still wrong!”
“You can still make it right, Jade.” If she chooses me and dump that foul rat, she could make everything right.
“Y-Yes… You’re right… I have to make it right… I can still correct this,” Jade muttered as she looked up from my chest.
She collected the blanket around her bosom and went inside the comfort room.
“Kix?...” I hear her shout from the comfort room. “Where are my clothes?”
“I gave them to the maids. They need to be washed.”
“Um… Can you lend me something to wear?”
“I brought you some clothes,” I shouted back against the shut door that was separating us both.
I wanted to come inside the bathroom with Jade. I was worried since I could still hear her whimper and cry. Was she alright?
“Jade… Do you want any help?”
“N-No…”
Jade stayed inside there for an hour. I was about to force the door open when she came out with the blanket still around her, but this time, she was dripping wet.
“Where are those clothes,” she asked meekly.
My heart quivered at the sight of her. “Um no… Dry yourself first, then I’ll give them to you.”
I immediately snatched a fresh towel that was hanging inside the bathroom and enveloped it around her head. Why didn’t she use it to dry herself?
“Jade… Are you angry with me?”
“No,” she said, her eyes misting. “I’m more angry at myself…”
“But why?”
“What do you mean why?... I just had s*x with you!”
“You can’t help it… You won’t be able to help it because of our circumstance.” Jade and I were fated mates. Did she think she can escape the inevitable pull between us?
“No… I should have helped it. I should have… I don’t know… But like you said, I could still undo this, right? I could still fix this…”
I nodded. If she breaks up with that rat, all will be well. Everything will be in its proper order.
“Kix… Let’s stop seeing each other… Don’t come near me from now on.”
“What -?”
Did I just hear Jade’s words correctly? She’s asking me to leave her again?
“Jade… It doesn’t make sense. Why are you breaking up with me?”
“I’m not breaking up with you, Kix. We aren’t even together to begin with!”
“Yes, we are! We never broke up!”
“Yeah, but that was a long time ago. Didn’t you start other relationships after that?”
“No,” I said. “You were already my girlfriend and my mate. Why would I start another relationship with someone else?”
“This mate thing… Are you even sure it’s for real?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean I’m not like you… I’m not a werewolf. How can you be sure that were destined to be together? Shouldn’t you be paired with another werewolf?”
“Says who? Who told you who should be or shouldn’t be?”
“Well, your parents said-”
“My parents were wrong, Jade! You – you’re the only one for me. You had always been the only one!”
I hugged Jade tightly. I had no intentions of letting her go.
“Kix, we can’t be together. I can’t be with you… I don’t want to be with you,” she said as she forced her way out of my embrace.
“No, Jade… Don’t say that… Don’t say that, please!” Before I was even aware of it, tears had begun running down my eyes.
All those years I was away from Jade felt like hell. I wasn’t going to do that all over again! Hell no!
“Kix, let go! Let me go!... Don’t force me again like you did today!”
“Force?... No, I didn’t force you, right?... I asked if you -”
“You forced me! You know you did! You forced me to cheat on my boyfriend, and I let you,” Jade sobbed.
Almost immediately, I can see specks of blood begin to form in front of the blanket that Jade had wrapped around her body.
“Jade… You’re still bleeding. You’re still hurt…”
“What do you think?... It doesn’t matter if I’m still hurt or not… Let’s stop this, Kix. You and I have lost our chance before. We’re not going back together even if you have already claimed me like this… Just stay away from me from now on!”
Jade dug through the nearest closet and produced a shirt and pants. She roughly clothed herself with it before she sprung out of the door and left.
I didn’t do anything to stop her. I neither had the strength nor the interest to do so at this point…
I just didn’t want my mate to hurt further than she already had.
