Chapter 39 Their here
Chapter 39 Their here
Everyone is anxious today, making sure all weapons are secure and will be given out by sun down.
Kids are being rushed in the safe bunker that was built many years ago by our ancestors. Food and supplies are already stored and all that's left are the elders and pregnant women.
I have been sore from last night and Andrew have been so sweet checking up on me and taking care of me.
I'm doing my hair half up half down to cover my mark, I'm not ready to show it yet. Hopefully I will live to even show it.
I look at it one last time in the mirror and smile, it's shaped like our pack's crest. It's beautiful. I can't believe I am actually marked.
Apart of me still can't believe any of this is real. A few months ago I was the outcast, a nobody. Now I'm the future Luna and leading a war against demons. Who would have seen that coming?
I fix my hair to hide the mark and a couple of hickeys on my neck.
I open the bathroom door and walk out to see Andrew waiting for me.
"You ready?"
"Yeah." He gives me a kiss then we walk outside the room.
We leave the house and Andrew left to get rest of the weapons and I am waiting for him. As I wait, a group of people approaches me. The people that didn't want to help me fight.
I look at them confused. "Aren't you supposed to be in the bunker?"
"Yes but we're not going to." I look at them ready to tell them turn their asses around because they will not be dying because of stubbornness.
"Look I get that you don't like me-" I began but they cut me off.
"We want to help." Someone in the back said. I look to see it's Gina, not one I would say I liked but she still didn't treat me has bad. "We all came together and agreed. It doesn't," she pauses and starts again. "it isn't right for us to be selfish while our future Luna is fighting to stay alive and we just sit back while we could help."
Another one chimed in and says, "We want to be there for you. You and the Alpha but first we're asking for your forgiveness."
They all lower their head, waiting for my response. I look them proud like a mother, weird. I smile and say, "Of course I forgive you all." I look at all of them as their heads are still lowered. "You can raise your heads." They did as I said. "Thank you."
They all look at me with grateful smiles and a guy asks, "Is there any room for us?"
A huge smile grows on my face. "Plenty."
I begin to tell them what to do and what the plan was. I asked one of the weapon builders to show them how to use them and where to meet once finished.
As I got them in check I looked at the place, around me. It's almost time.
"Hey." I turn around to see Emma behind me.
I cross my arms and continue to look a head. "What do you want Emma?"
She sighs. "Uh... To apologize." I turn around and look at her so fast I almost got whiplash.
As I look her face she was dead serious. "You're not joking." I stated.
"No. I'm not."
"Why all of a sudden?"
"You are going to be my future Luna. I might as well be on your good side." She laughs. I didn't and looked back at the people working. "I have been a bitch to you your entire life and I want to say I'm sorry."
"Is this to make us besties now?"
"God no. But we can start off fresh. I can promise you I'm not that terrible."
"I'd have see that for myself." I sincerely looked at her for any good in her and I'm hoping that I'm right but she doesn't seem that bad. For now at least.
"See you on the battle field freak." Surprisingly I was not offended by what she called me because I know she didn't mean it in a bad way. She walks away in the direction of the pack house and I start to look around for Andrew. He's been gone for a while now actually.
Suddenly someone hugs me from behind starts kissing my neck and I instantly knew it was him. "Hey. Where have you been?"
"Just some weapon issues. All sorted out now." He turns me around with his hands around my waist and I put mine around his. I'm confused on what weapons he was talking about because earlier I didn't see him in the shed. Are their more weapons?
"What was Emma talking you about?"
"Oh just some girl stuff." I smiled.
"Oh no. I should hide. Don't want get in the middle of another cat fight."
I playfully hit him on the chest. "Shut up." I laugh at his joke.
He leans down and softly kiss my lips. He rest his forehead on mine and asks, "Are you ok?"
"Yes Andrew. How many times do I have to say it." He keeps asking if he hurt me last night other than me being sore which doesn't feel that bad anymore and he just won't take 'I'm ok' for an answer. But I got to admit, it's kind of cute.
"I'm talking about tonight."
"Oh. I'm fine." I put on a fake smile to show him that I'm ok.
"You know I can tell you're lying." He stated. Stupid mark. "Elle it's ok to be scared. No one will judge you. I'm scared for goddess sakes."
Oh baby. I grab his face and give him one long passionate kiss. "We'll make it." I said through our mind link. Hopefully.
"Ugh stop it! I'm going to barf."
I quickly break away from Andrew as I heard Anna. "Anna, hey. We were just-."
"Don't need to tell details. I just wanted you to meet someone." Beside her is a tall charming man. He's Asian, built and has really nice long hair that reaches by his neck. "This is the man I have been telling you about, Aiden."
I smile as I greet him. "Hi. Nice to finally meet the man my sister is in love with." I shake his hand as I look at my sister shyly looking away.
He smiles and says, "It's nice to finally meet the sister of the woman I am in love with." He looks at her with a smile and they look each other lovingly. Aww.
"Ugh stop it. I'm going to barf." I said using the reverse trick on my sister.
She rolls her eyes and says, "Oh shut it. Anyway Aiden wants to help."
"What? Really? Are you sure?" I ask.
"Yes. There is no way I am making this one go in a fight without me. Plus you're her sister and Andrew is a close associate to my pack." He looks at Andrew and they both nod.
"Well thank you."
He smiles and both him and my sister leaves to get their things ready.
......
It's almost midnight and we're all gathered outside. Some are already by where we're going to stake out, a mile away from the castle.
Now I am saying the finally speech before we leave with Andrew next to me.
"Today is the day we've all been dreading. I want to say I'm proud of you all, for being brave enough to fight against the demons. Thank you for fighting for me, with me." I pause and look amongst them all. "Not all of us will make it... but fight. Fight and survive." I repeat the same thing my mother told me. I look at them desperately. "Please."
"Fight and survive." Andrew stands beside and holds my hand.
"Fight and survive." The pack says together.
"Ok everyone move!" Chris shouts.
Most shift into their wolf forms, while some don't, all running to the castle. Both Andrew and I look at each other.
"Be careful."
"I will. You come back to me Elle Cooper."
"I promise I will." I hope.
Andrew shifts in his black wolf and runs off with the others. I look around making sure everyone is gone and I'm met eye to eye with Veronica. She smiles at me before shifting into her beautiful brown wolf.
She howls as she runs off and I could here the pack from a distance howling back.
It's time.
~~~~~
"There is still no sign of the demons."
For some reason I'm not happy hearing. Something just feels off, probably just me being paranoid. We've been out here for three hours and still no sign of them. What are they up to?
"Cristian have you seen Simon?" I asked a little worried.
"He should be staking out with the others."
"He never said he was going to do that."
"I guess he changed his mind."
Cristian kept looking at me weird, as if confused and it's kind of bugging me. I haven't mentioned it to him because we were around people but now it's clear. "Why are looking at me like that?"
He looks at me caught off guard. "Uh... your aura. It doesn't affect me anymore." He says confused.
The mark. I don't want to hide this from him. I move my hair and showed him my neck. "I'm marked."
He looks shocked at first but quickly hides it. "Congrats. I'm happy for you." He doesn't seem that happy.
He gives me a small smile before leaving the cave. I frown at the thought of him being mad at him. I was about to ask him what the problem is then suddenly the warnings go off.
Their here.
I quickly run outside and climbed the highest tree I could find.
"Where are they?" I asked Andrew through the mind link.
"Their coming from the West. Fast."
I look to the West and I could barely see anything. I try to listen out or even smell anything and I got a scent of blood and death, just like vampires. But more death and rot. A shiver runs down my spine as it gets strong.
"Their here."
I quickly climb down from the tree and run up front where Cristian and Andrew are. Everyone else is either behind us or watching from a distance ready to come out.
We all look amongst ourselves giving the 'let's do this' look. We hear footsteps coming from the woods and we look in that direction.
There is a man I have never seen before. He is huge, really muscular with a lot of scars on his face. I gulp as I see the demons march behind him. All looking furious with weapons. Guns, swords, really huge swords. They still make those?
They stop at distance in front us. "Vampire king!" The huge one shouts. "I see you got our message."
"Bruce I see your the one leading all of this!" Cristian shouts back. I look between them as I feel the hate radiate off them. "And what message are you talking about?"
"Oh no, I don't lead this."
"I do!" A very dark voice shouts from behind them. The voice sent a familiar chill down my spine. I look trying to see who it is, with the very familiar voice.
The person steps out and I gasp, shocked. Some part of me knew but didn't want to accept it. Now that I look back it was so obvious.
I clench my hands in a fist. "You." I said with hate laced through my voice.
He smirks as he looks at the shock on my face.
