Chapter 95 Memories
Chapter 95 Memories
"Um... who are you?"
That question and the way he looked at me with complete cluelessness of who I am, just continuously plays in my head.
I first thought they were just pulling some joke on me at first but the longer it went on, the more I realized they weren't joking.
He actually cannot remember anything. Not his name, who he is... or was and he doesn't recognize anyone. His brain is completely wiped.
I tried so hard to get him remember something about himself but nothing worked, he just looked at me like I was speaking gibberish. They decided to give him some space for a few minutes but I didn't agree, so they literally dragged me out of the room.
"Why doesn't he remember anything?" Daniel asked Lyra.
"I am not sure. I believe the impact of him dying and being resurrected did cause him some memory loss."
"Some? He doesn't even know his own name."
"It could be temporary."
"And what if it's not? What if it's permanent?"
"I am afraid I cannot help you on that."
"Why the hell not?" Jeremiah raised his voice.
"I don't have that much power."
"What about Cora?"
"No. I have used enough of my power. If I use it again, I and all the girls will all fall before time."
"What are you talking about?"
"Where do you think they get their power from?" No one answers her question and she continues. "I am their power source, just like Nikolaos was to Cristian. If I die, they all fall again."
"Why didn't you tell us this before?"
"Because I can take care of myself and I didn't want you to be worrying about me when more important things were at stake. Now do not worry, we will not be in your hair for very soon. When the girls have completed their mission and all agree, we will finally rest at peace."
"Wow, I didn't realize this till now, but I'm going to miss you scary ladies." Simon says smiling.
"Yeah." Daniel chuckles agreeing with Simon.
"This is sweet and all but there is still a empty minded vampire just up those stairs who doesn't know who he is.... and might be hungry. Simon go get him a couple blood bags." Jeremiah ordered.
"Uh-uh, he might get his memory back and kill me the second I step through that door. You get it."
"Stop being such a baby."
"You stop being a baby and get in there yourself." Simon whisper yells.
"You both stop being babies and shut up!" Daniel shouts getting everyone's attention. He then turns to me with a sweet smile. "Elle?"
"What?"
"Can you do it?"
"He's your brother idiot." Jeremiah said rolling eyes.
"I know that but did you see the way he looked at me? Like I was his evil twin but better looking." He looks back at me and asks, "Sooo?"
"Elle, is not going in there alone." Andrew steps in.
"What, you jealous?" Simon smirks.
"Barely, I don't want him pulling any of that shit he did in the woods."
"What are you talking about?"
"He almost killed her."
"He did what?" Daniel and Simon asked in unison.
"Hey guys, he was out of it and being controlled by Nikolaos, he's fine now." Jeremiah reassured.
"I'm not taking that chance."
"Can we at least get feed back from the one important right now?" Simon said giving me a pointed look.
They all stop talking and look in my direction. To be honest, I have barely been paying attention to what they were saying. I have been lost in my thoughts, just thinking over what's happened the past half hour.
We got Cristian back, alive and well but he doesn't remember anything, not even his own identity. It sets guilt in me, I blame myself for what's happened to him.
From the beginning, if he had never met me, none of this would have happened to him.
"Earth to Elle!"
I snap out of my thoughts and give them my undivided attention.
"You good?"
"Yeah, sorry. What did you say before?"
"You talk to Cristian ALONE." Daniel emphasizes the 'alone' while looking at Andrew, who just rolls his eyes. "So he can feel more comfortable."
"Not too comfortable." Simon adds with a smirk. He receives a double smack to the head from Andrew and Jeremiah. "Ow!" He shouts glaring at them.
Andrew holds me by my shoulders and turns me towards him. "Ignore him, you don't have to do it if you're not ready."
"It's fine. I'll talk to him."
"Are you sure?"
I give him a small smile to show him that I was ok. "Yes."
He sucks in a deep breath before he giving a peck on the forehead. "Ok, we'll be down here when your finished."
I leave the guys and Lyra downstairs and slowly walk up to the fourth floor. I'm stalling because I don't know what to say to him. How am I going to start? What will he think of me? Should even tell him our history?
The closer I get to his room, my heart beat rises and my palms get sweaty. Of course I'm not fine, I feel like I am about to break down any second. I don't want to see him this way. I thought once we saved him from Nikolaos that we would, maybe go back to normal but who am I kidding, that wasn't going to happening.
The last time I had conversation with him, he was upset and we didn't get to talk it out before he.... died.
I stop in my tracks as I see his door just 3 doors down. Maybe I shouldn't do this.
Isn't Daniel his brother? Why isn't he up here?
Ugh! Let's just stop with the stalling and get in there. How bad could it be?
Why did I say that?!
Every time when someone says 'How bad could it be' it always goes south.
I turn around ready to head back downstairs. Yeah, no I can't do this.
I turn back around, facing his door and take two steps forward before turning back around.
Ok, now I'm just pacing.
I take in a deep breath before I turn around and finally gather the courage to walk up to the door. I double knock on the door and wait for his response. When I didn't hear anything, I slowly open the door and walk in.
"Cristian?" I call out once I noticed the room is empty. "Cristian!" I frantically begin to look around the room in fear that he left without us knowing. I run into the bathroom and immediately regret it.
Well, it's safe to say he did not leave but was just coming out of the shower.
"Oh my goddess, I am so so sorry." I slap my hand over my eyes and turn around, but only to hit into the wall. "Ow!" I feel around for the doorway and quickly run out of the bathroom, not without bucking my toe on the wall.
Stupid, stupid, stupid! Great first impression Elle, what are you going to do next? Fall on your face?
With that thought, I uncover my eyes.
I hear the door open behind me and a small chuckle. "I'm so sorry." I apologize again.
"It's ok, we all have our moments." Yeah, for me, one too many times.
After hear a few shuffling, he tells me to turn around. I am greeted with a toothy smile that makes him look just as handsome as I remember. Seeing him in just a T-shirt and jeans is still so weird to me for some reason.
"Elle, right?" I smile, happy to know that he remembered my name.
"Uh- yeah."
"Are you nervous?"
"N-no, why would you say that?" I stuttered.
"I could hear you pacing from outside." I look away from him out of embarrassment. "Don't be embarrassed, I get it."
"You do?" I ask with a risen eyebrow.
"Sort of, we knew each other and now I don't remember anything about you. I can't imagine how must be feeling right now."
"Me? You're the one that doesn't remember anything. You are just surrounding by strangers who say they are your family."
He shrugs and sits in the chair in the corner of the room. "Yeah, I can't say I'm fond of how they look at me. The tall dark one with muscles looks at me like he wants to kill me," He refers to Andrew. "The one that fears me for some reason," Simon. "The one with the cold exterior just looks at me like a lost puppy," Jeremiah. "The curly head that looks at me like I'm a ghost." Anna. "And the handsome one that looks very similar to me." Daniel. "He says he's my brother."
I chuckle at his confusion and put my hands in my back pocket as I walk closer to him. "Yep that sounds about right."
He sits forward in the chair with his elbows on his knees and hands clasped. "So, tell me." Is all he said.
"What?"
"You're in here to help me remember, right? So tell me about myself and I want to know more about you too."
"And everyone else." I add.
"Sure." He shrugs.
"Um, ok." I sit on the edge of the bed just a few feet away from him. "Where do I start?"
"When we first met."
"The first time we met, I actually trespassed your territory on accident. I was rejected by my mate and I kind of lost control when I shifted."
"Now why would someone reject such a beautiful person like you?" I look at him slightly shocked, remembering he asked me the exact same question.
I shake my head and say, "Let's not get into that right now."
"Fine with me."
"You and Simon took me in."
"The terrified one?"
"Yep."
"Weird, what is he to me again?"
"Friends. More like bestfriends. Both of your parents were close and you two grew up together."
He nods his head as he processes everything. "I'm guessing my parents are dead."
"J-just your father, your mother is back in New Orleans." What am I suppose to say about his father?
"Does she know I'm here?"
"I don't think Daniel found the time to tell her everything yet."
"I think that's best. So what got us in this mess in the first place?"
"I did." He raises an eyebrow, silently asking me to elaborate. "I'm werewolf... but also a Succubus."
"A succubus?"
"Yeah, a creature that feeds off sexual aura."
"That must be fun."
"Not really. With that came the truth about my past, pain and loss and endless wars with demons."
"You don't have get into stuff right now."
"No, you should know what happened." Taking in a deep breath, I begin. "When you took me in to stay, we got closer and more comfortable with each other but with our relationship, you found the need to protect me. You sought help from your father, who was the one that was running everything from the beginning."
I pause waiting for his reaction but he just stares at me with a blank expression. I wait for him to take that all in until he was ready. "So, I was the one that killed him?"
"Yes... and he killed you."
"How long ago was this?"
"3 years."
"That explains it."
"What?"
"With the witch and everyone looking at me terrified except for the Andy guy."
"Andrew." I corrected.
"I think I got it now. We fought against my father who once ruled the demons but I ended up dead and so did he. Three years later, another war began but by a different leader who resurrected me from the dead to use me as a weapon against you guys. The witch, Lera,"
"Lyra." I corrected again.
"Helped to bring me back for good after realizing I was dying because the demon guy was dead but I ended up with memory loss."
"Yeah, do you remember anything?" I asked with some hope.
"No, just the bits they gave me after I woke up."
"Oh." I said disappointed.
"Thanks."
"For what?"
"Keeping up with me. As you can see I'm really not good with names."
"That's not true, you remembered mine."
"Yours is worth remembering." He said sweetly with a smile.
I avoid eye contact with him and clear my throat. "Um-"
"Don't say another word, this won't hurt if you just cooperate." Elizabeth instructs.

ELIZABETH'S POV
I trail my eyes all over him and he seems like his regular self, apart from the amnesia. "There is that handsome face I missed so much."
"Hmm?"
"Manners." I remind myself. "Sweet old Elle forgot to introduce her Succubus side. I'm Elizabeth, you probably don't remember me and if this was a few years ago, I would have reminded you. If you know what I mean." I smirk standing up. "I have some things to discuss right now so I have to go and you should get something to eat. You're probably hungry."
"Um-"
Before he could get a word out I interrupt. "Kitchen is downstairs. I'm sure you'll find one of those boys in there." I announce as I leave room.
