Chapter 40
ZAVIER [Zero]
I concluded at the fourth day after my call with that assh0le Morris that I've had enough of seeing her sad.
Especially this morning, when I reached for her on the bed to draw her into my arms, that look of sheer sadness was very look was stark and blatant.
Of course, it disappeared when I started kissing her and making her feel so fvcking good, but that is besides the point. It had been there, that's what the fuck matters.
I don't know much about women, if not the things I learnt from being with her. In this case, I draw a fvcking blank.
And so, I dressed up and took off to the street to find her some woman to for her to talk to. Like dumb Morris said, it might be a woman thing.
Never knew there was some shit like that before.
I dressed like a businessman, looking better and less scary, it doesn't get past my notice that them bitches are always afraid of me unless they want to fvck and---
Target is Sighted.
A woman walked across the street. She might be in her mid-forties and she seems dressed for work. She's elderly, and doesn't look like she's unkind. Perfect.
When she got closer to me, I cleared my throat. "Excuse me, Ma'am."
She fixed me with a small stare and her eyes widened. The fear was unmistakable. "G-ood morning, and w-w-what can I do for you?"
"I need you to talk to my woman. She is sad." I went straight to the point.
She looked so confused. "Huh?"
Didn't I just speak fvcking English? I asked my damn self. I tried to explain, "My woman, she is sad and she needs someone to talk to."
The woman looked clearly terrified then, and it made me frown. Was it something I said?
"What d-does that has to do with me?" She asked then.
I blinked once, confused too. Women ask the most silly of questions. "Isn't that obvious? I need you to talk with her."
"I-I don't understand w-what you mean. Now, of you'll excuse me...." She tried leaving.
I decided that I'm done trying civility like Lani always said I should. It's time I do things my own way.
In quick motions, I injected her arm with a drug that causes just five minutes paralysis, nothing so fvcking harmless or anything.
Then, I lifted her still form to my shoulders and carried her home. It's just a goddamn short walk.
LEILANI
You can't begin to imagine my surprise when I came out of the shower and saw a woman clothed in corporate clothes lying down on the bed, her eyes wide awake and filled with so much fear.
Zavier stood beside the woman with his arms crossed, looking so very proud of himself.
"What's happening?" I asked gently.
"You needed someone to talk to. I got you someone." He shrugged like it's the most natural thing in the world.
"W-What?"
"You were sad. Morris said it's a woman thing and you needed a woman to talk to about it, so I got you one."
After being momentarily speechless, I walked to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Zavier?"
"Mmh?"
"Did you bring this woman here without her verbal consent?"
He nodded once. "Figured I didn't need it."
"You figured wrong, baby." I didn't know when the endearment left my lips, but I wanted him to understand, "Things just don't work like that."
"They don't?" He looked confused.
"They don't. Besides she's someone's woman too."
He cocked his head to the side, "She's not mine, so why the hell should I care?"
I smiled then and hugged him. "She's not yours, I am. But can you not take people away with you without their verbal consent? Can you do it for me?"
He wrapped his strong arms around me and I sighed softly, melting into him.
"I promise." He muttered gruffly.
It made me happy. His words are good as gold when spoken as a promise. "Thank you....honey."
He smiled then. A devastatingly handsome smile knocked the breath right out of my body, leaving me breathless and putty in his arms like a puddle.
When I pulled out of his embrace, I noticed the way the woman stared at us. She doesn't look so scared much, but curious.
I watched him leave the bedroom then. I turned and gave the woman my full attention. "I'm sorry about what he did, Ma'am. I'm really sorry." I whispered.
The woman stared at me for some minutes before she nodded once. "H-He really meant it? He wasn't kidnapping me to rape and kill me?"
I grimaced softly at the word 'Kidnapping'. I nodded once anyway.
"He just wanted me to talk with you?"
I nodded again.
The woman blinked twice. "Woah. Your man is unusual."
That's just the word, I thought with an inner smile. Outwardly, I said. "Zavier....he doesn't see things the way we do. He..." I didn't know how to put it to make the woman understand.
"He wants to make you happy." The woman stated softly.
"I guess, that's it. I'm not unhappy though, I don't know where the idea that I am, is coming to him." I whispered softly.
The woman kept staring at me like she was trying to read me. The silence stretched awkwardly until she whispered finally, "My name is Bonnie. I'm a therapist."
"A t-therapist?" I was shocked.
The woman smiled then, "Yeah. So, I think your man must be a magician, dragging me down here 'to talk with his woman'"
My cheeks heated and I averted my eyes.
"I've never seen a more unsuitable couple before. He's so....intense and you're...I don't think you have a malicious bone in your body. Two different opposite people and yet, you fit so perfectly." She analyzed in awe.
"I'm really sorry about what he did." I offered again.
She waved me off. "It's alright. I'm late for work but I think I can spare some minutes. I've never had such interesting clients before. What's the emotional strain you're going through?"
When I opened my mouth, she was quick to add, "And don't say it's nothing, I know it's not. You look emotionally stressed too."
I bit my lips. The woman was gentle and it's obvious she's not a bad woman. She seemed genuinely troubled for me, and maybe it might be because it's her job but it means more to me that she's concerned personally and not just professionally.
And yet, I found it hard talking to her. She's a stranger....a good stranger....but a stranger nonetheless. I don't think I can.
The woman suddenly smiled. "You don't think you can open up to someone you don't know, right?"
I nodded, relieved that she caught on it without it being rude of me to tell her.
She nodded like it's perfectly understandable. "You've got comfortable clothes that can enter a woman my size?"
I looked at her, she wasn't fat or too slim. "I do....but why?"
She grinned. "Well....." She unbuckled her white shirt and removed it, "Seems like you're making a new friend today. Besides, I have the feeling that your man wouldn't allow me to get out of here without 'helping his woman', so, we get comfortable and then we talk."
"B-But your work...."
"It wouldn't hurt to go in later in the day."
It's so tempting, getting comfortable with her and having another woman around even if it's just for a few hours. "But why would you do this for me?"
Bonnie stared at me. "My husband never cared worth shit about me and here's a man willing to kidnap a woman off the streets for his woman."
My cheeks heated up again and I scratched my hair shyly.
"Trust me, I want to help in any way I can, Lani. So, get my comfortable clothes and some food from the kitchen if you've got some."
I returned her smile. "I've got some," I said gratefully as I got up from the bed. No one is normal in this country, I thought with a small smile.
