SUSPICIONS.
Emelda came down the stairs with a fake sad expression plastered on her face. Nicole was seated at the living room flipping through her phone, and eating the slices of apple her maid served her earlier.
Nicole raised her head, and seeing her granddaughter, she smiled and beckoned on her.
"Emelda, come sit with grandma." Nicole said.
Emelda sprinted and sat beside her grandma.
"Granny..." Emelda called out as she placed her head on Nicole's lap.
"Yes honey.. What's wrong?" Nicole patted her grand daughter's head fondly.
"I want to speak to Mum... I miss her so much." Emelda sniffled.
She had wanted to come here so bad... And now, she couldn't help but miss her mother.
" Is that all?" Nicole chuckled.
For a moment, she had been worried, thinking it was something serious.
Just a phone call?
"But.." She turned towards Emelda,
"Why aren't you at school today?" Wasn't she supposed to be in school?
"It's weekend, grandma. No school." Emelda rolled her eyes and made funny faces.
"Ohh, I forgot... I will call your mother now." She dialed her daughter's number.
"Yayy.... You are the best, grandma." Emelda jumped excitedly on the sofa.
Nicole watched her in amusement...

Quinn was making breakfast in the kitchen, when her phone rang.
'Whoever it was, could wait.' She thought and continued with what she was doing.
Henry was coming down the stairs when he saw her phone ringing on the couch.
He was curious; was it her so-called husband?
His heart clenched in jealousy.
After last night's episode, he hadn't seen Quinn that morning.
He was elated though; she took things a step further by her own self. He didn't force her to.
Didn't that mean, she finally acknowledged him?
He glanced at the caller ID,
Mine...
His jealousy increased...
So she saved his number with such an endearment?
He picked up the phone and placed it on loud speaker.
"Mummy!!!" An excited voice yelled.
His heart seemed like it stopped beating for a minute.
He stilled his breath...
Mummy?
"Mummy? Are you there? Mummy, talk to me!" The cute voice continued saying.
Henry didn't know why he was reacting that way, but when he heard the little girl's voice, yeah she was probably a girl. But when he heard her voice, be felt a connection towards her.
He tried to ignore the gnawing feeling at the pits of his stomach, but he couldn't..

(QUINN'S POV )
I could sense that something wasn't right, as I rushed out of the kitchen, towards the living room.
I saw Henry standing in a daze.
My phone was in his hand. I rushed towards him and snatched the phone away.
"What rudeness! How can you pick someone's call without permission?!" I yelled furiously at him.
Henry didn't even respond, he just stood there.
"Mummy?" A very familiar voice called out from the other end of the line.
My heart sank as I guiltily turned my gaze away from Henry's direction.
"Can Mum call you back?" I smiled sweetly though she couldn't see me.
"Alright mum, love you. Hugs and kisses." She said in her so childish voice.
"More from me sweetheart." I hung up and made to go back to the kitchen.
However...
Henry pulled me back with such force that I landed directly in his arms.
'Shit...'
"What are you doing, Mr Henry?" I narrowed my eyes as I questioned.
"Mr Henry? Hah... So we are back to being formal with each other?" I could see hurt in his eyes.
But did I give a damn?
Of course not!
He could go to hell for all I cared...
"How do you want me to address you? Let me go, I have something doing." I said harshly as I furiously tried to pull my hand away from his grip.
But he didn't allow me to.
"Who was that?" He asked calmly.
"Do you have a right to ask me that? My voice was cold and distant.
"Answer me!!!"
I didn't respond as I glared at him defiantly.
We engaged in a staring contest for a few minutes, before I dipped mine.
"She's my daughter, if you are so curious, as to poke nose into my personal matters." I pulled my hand roughly, and surprisingly, he let go.
"Your daughter with who?" I could see he wasn't so surprised, just curious.
Did he know about Emelda?
Nope, that wasn't possible... I shook my head.
"With my husband of course." I replied harshly.
"Oh..." He took a step back, and headed back upstairs.
Immediately he left, I heaved a sigh of relief.
That was a close shave.
It wasn't that I was afraid, I didn't want Henry to cause problems in the peaceful life I've created for years.
Knowing Henry, he probably wouldn't let go of Emelda...
I massaged the nape of my neck...
Was it a good idea to move back with Henry. I could have just breached the contract and paid the compensation...

In Henry's bedroom, he paced back and forth.
He was restless.... Why?
Pulling out his phone, he dialed his assistant's number.
He picked up after few rings.
"Investigate who Quinn's husband is. Find out if they have a daughter together." He instructed.
He had to find out the truth...
Was it possible, she was his daughter?
How great would that be?
He didn't know when, but he had started nursing hopes about getting married to Quinn.
The problem was...
His parents were sure to decline.
Quinn herself was bound to disagree.
She had no parents, so that wasn't an issue...
He had Kathleen at the tip of his fingers...
If she made a wrong move, her secrets would be exposed to the public....
He pushed the thoughts of getting married to Quinn, and went downstairs again...
She wasn't at the living room... She was probably at the kitchen.
Henry walked over to the kitchen, and slowly went inside.
Quinn didn't bother turning; she knew who just came inside.
"What are your plans, Quinn?" Henry suddenly questioned...
