Toying with him
WASHINGTON DC.
STEPHEN'S POV.
"What! What did you just say?!" I yelled into the mouthpiece.
My assistant repeated what he said.
"Trace his house, and book the next flight for me to California." I ran my hand through my hair in distress.
She was at Henry's house?
How could that be?
I was devastated.
"Make no mistakes." I hung up, or to be more exact, I flung the phone on the floor.
Didn't she say I should pretend to be her husband? It wasn't bad if I appeared at California as her boyfriend, was it?
Damn that bastard. Knowing Quinn, she was possibly forced into all of this...
Yes... That should be the case.
But even if she was, and she wasn't willing to leave, then what could I do?
I couldn't possibly force her against her wish, could I?
Why couldn't she just give me a chance?
..........
ON THE PLANE.
"The flight is about to take off. All passengers should put on their seatbelt, thank you." The voice of the air hostess sounded over the microphone.
Stephen leaned back and he closed his eyes. He couldn't wait to arrive...
He was so going to deal with that bastard!

( QUINN'S POV )
I calmly sat on the sofa, sipping on my cup of espresso, and typing away at my laptop. It was a workfree day, yet I was busy at home.
Henry came down at that moment. He paused when he saw me, and came to sit directly opposite me.
I didn't pay him any heed as I continued what I was doing. But, I could feel him staring at me.
"Can you explain what your intentions are, Quinn?" I heard him say after a while.
*Hunhh?" I raised my head with a blank look on my face.
"You don't understand?" Henry chuckled.
I didn't respond, but continued looking at him.
"We have sex at night. And then in the morning, we are practically strangers to each other? Really?" I could tell that Henry was trying to hold back his anger.
I placed my laptop on the table beside the sofa and then gave a light laugh.
"Mr Henry, it seems you are forgetting something." I paused to allow my words take effect.
*And what is that?" Henry stared straight into my eyes.
"Please answer my questions, as I ask them. Have I ever worked for you?" I questioned.
"And what does that have to do with what we are saying?" Henry was puzzled.
"Everything Mr Henry, everything... So please, answer my question." I placed my hands on my lap.
"Yes."
"Okay... Back then I'm sure you had sex with me, or didn't you?"
Henry didn't respond this time. I could tell he knew where the conversation was going to.
"Quinn...-"
"Please let me finish, Mr Henry." I interrupted.
He looked at me in resignation.
"You had sex with me, in whatever way you wanted. And you even had a fiancee, Mr Henry!" I said bitterly.
Looking back now, I realized I had been foolish back then. So foolish...
I wanted to speak again, when the doorbell rang. Both of stared at each other in surprise; I wasn't expecting anyone, neither was he.
So who was at the door?
'Well...' I stood up.
I would soon find out.
I was about to take a step, when Henry beat me to it.
"I will get it." He sprinted towards the door.
He opened it, and a figure pushed him and came inside.
I stared in horror at the so familiar face.
"Stephen? What are you doing here?"
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stared at him.
At that time, Henry came over and roughly shoved him on the sofa.
"How dare you? I don't care who you are, but you have no right, absolutely none to barge into my house in that manner!!" Henry yelled furiously.
"Are you the bastard that forced my wife to stay with you?" Stephen glared defiantly at him.
'Wife?' I thought inwardly.
And then it clicked on my mind.. I remembered asking Stephen to pretend to be my husband.
I had even forgotten...
"Oh, so you are the so called husband aren't you?" Henry fumed.
"You don't believe I'm her husband? Then watch this!"
Stephen approached me, and grabbing my head, he roughly captured my lips.
My first instinct was to push him back. But I remembered that Henry was watching.
We had to make it look real.
And so, I closed my eyes and responded to his kiss...
"What the hell do you think you are doing!" Henry shouted as he pushed Stephen away from me.
"What do you think I'm doing? Kissing my wife of course." Stephen smirked tauntingly.
I looked at him from the corner of my eye.
I was he going to scold him for the kiss later...
"You believe me now? Oh, pardon me.... I haven't done any introduction..." I pretended to fake palm myself.
"Sweetheart," I turned to Stephen. "This is Mr Henry, my ex boss, and my new business partner." I introduced in a calm manner.
Both men engaged in a silent staring contest.
I hissed and sat down, leaving them to do whatever they wanted.
"Let's go home." Stephen suddenly grabbed me by the hand.
I frowned a little, that wouldn't be noticeable to Henry.
I knew I tolf him to be my boyfriend, but wasn't this going too far?
"Nah... You go ahead baby ... And how is our daughter? I changed the topic.
"Get out of my house..." Henry growled in a low voice.
"If that's the case, I will be taking my wife with me." Stephen smirked.
"Try it if you dare." Henry threatened.
Threatening me over my wife?
"Try it and see. I won't let down your expectations down at all." Henry went over to a couch and sat down, crossing his leg over the other.
Stephen looked at me, with a pleading gaze. But I gently shook my head, indicating that I was going nowhere....
I knew Henry was watching the both of us, so I tried to make my reaction a little discreet.
