Her
"I'm the gift of the moon, it's me!" I screamed.
He turned his head around slowly.
"What?" His brows raised.
Even Layla's eyes widened.
I won't let her die.
I won't let the gift of the moon die.
Maybe this is my soul purpose, to sacrifice myself for the gift of the moon.
To help, Asmodeus clan, to save the humans from these blood vampires who want to rule the world and spread chaos.
"Bring her to me!" The vampire leader screamed.
I get a closer look at him. It is indeed him. That I saw before. He is the man who sacrificed to that woman.
He doesn't look like an evil vampire if you look at him but his eyes will tell you everything. His face is handsome, maybe that's how he lures the girls to make themselves sacrifice themselves.
I get the chance to get closer to Layla.
"Do you think you are fooling me?" said the vampire leader.
"I'm not. I'm the gift of the moon, I have green eyes. My hair is fiery red. I dyed it. You can see the roots for yourself," I said and bowed my head to get close to Layla. .
"Adra, what are you doing?!" she screamed.
"Saving the gift of the moon." I whispered.
"See?"
"I'm the gift of the moon so don't kill her. Kill me instead. I'll give you all my powers."
His eyes squinted. Trying to think if I'm really telling the truth.
But of course I'm not!
I'm not the gift of the moon. My body is shaking, and my knees are as brittle as a stick.
I'm fucking nervous!
I just offered myself as a fucking sacrifice to save Layla!
"The gift of the moon has fiery red hair. She doesn't have it. I do," I said firmly.
The vampire leader grabs Layla's hair and pulls it to see her hair roots. She winced in pain as he looked at it.
"Untie this imposter and tie our true gift of the moon!" He screamed as he commanded him.
I gulped as they forced me to lay on the cold hard stone. I watched as they took Layla away.
Why can't Layla use her power to save us? She's the gift of the moon. I mean, at least he can use his power even though he's not that small here.
Never mind. It's useless now.
I took a deep breath.
They tied both my feet and hands to a large nail embedded in the rock.
Fuck shit.
I swallowed multiple times.
At this position I have the chance to look at the green moon clearly.
My forehead creased as I watched the moon turn green.
I look at the blood vampires, waiting for them to notice it but it doesn't seem that they don't.
Wait, is it just me?
Before I could even tell them about it the vampire leader raised both of his hands and swung it to stab me.
I closed my eyes tightly. Waiting for the sharp dagger to sting and stab my heart.
Waiting for the pain to come and rushing all over my body.
Everything is silent as I wait for my death to come.
"Oh!"
A scream made me open my eyes. Asmodeus is beside me, strangling the vampire leader. While Silvana is fighting the other one, and Silvhari is untying Layla.
"What are you doing here Adra?" Silavana asks as she fights the blood vampires.
I thought there's just three of them but more come to light as Silvana kills one of them, they're doubling the number of the vampire who died.
What is going on?!
"You really know when to come to Vointeroiz." The vampire leader said.
"Leave her alone, she's not what you're looking for."
"You can't fool me. She offered herself as a sacrifice. Your plan to make the gift of the moon didn't succeed. She's here to give all of her powers to me."
I turned to him with a frown.
Does he have a plan to make the gift of the moon fall in love with him?
"She's just sacrificing herself to save the gift of the moon Hendro," Silvana said.
This made Hendro, the leader of the blood vampires, even more angry. Its eyes reddened even more. I'm sure he is fuming mad.
Because Silvana, Asmo and Silvhari are still busy killing the blood vampires, no one has been able to tie me up yet. Silvhari was about to get closer when Hendro stopped her and then took Layla by her side.
"How does it feel to watch the love of your life get killed, Vointeroiz? Is it painful?" Hendro smirked.
My chest hurt as I heard him say that. Is Layla really the love of his life?
Just because she is the gift of the moon?
Then what am I to him?
Did he just play with my heart? I'm just a fan of vampires and I adored them so much and he used it against me. To play with an innocent heart.
"Don't worry when I kill you after her you won't feel the pain anymore."
He grabbed her and pushed her deeply on the tree, he choked her until her mouth opened.
Releasing all her powers as He guides his hand to get all her strength.
My eyes widened as he tried to suck Layla's power.
He grinned as an enchanted red aura came out of Layla. He won.
He got the gift of the moon.
Asmodeus tries to fight him but they are outnumbered by the blood vampires.
Their number tripled even more when Silvhari, Silvana and Asmo tried to kill them. They are like zombies that come to life and regenerate.
I watched Asmo scream as he tried to fight them.
He really wants to help her.
Our eyes met and a teardrop on my eyes.
I can't believe I'm watching him fight for Layla.
It's all in front of my eyes.
He surely loves her.
She's the gift of the moon.
Who wouldn't love a vampire like her right?
I avoided his eyes and looked at Hendro.
I looked at her with a frown when the red aura coming out of Layla's mouth stopped. Her skin dried out like her soul got sucked by him.
She drops the helpless Layla on the ground. Layla didn't even get a chance to fight him.
She is a powerful vampire but why can't she fight him?
Even though she doesn't know how to use it, at least she should have tried.
"That's it?" Hendro asked.
He looked at Layla on the ground. He moves his right hand in a circle trying to see if he really sucked out all the power of the gift of the moon.
His forehead creased as he tried to wave it one more time but there's nothing coming out of his hand.
"It didn't work!" he shouted.
"You should have the dagger!" said one.
"The dagger won't work, the moon is not fully green," I said.
They turned to me with frowns.
"Can you see the moon turning green?" Hendro asked.
My brows furrowed.
"You can not?" I asked him confusedly.
I glance at Asmo, Silvahri and Silvana.
Their eyes turned round, their mouths flung fully open.
What's going on?
Can't they see the green aura enveloping the moon?
Am I the only one seeing this?
I looked up once again at the sky. It's close to turning green. I threw a glance at them.
Fuck shit.
My eyes widened as it hit me.
"Adra!" Silvana screamed as she threw the dagger Hendro used a while ago.
I caught it and slipped it between my wrist and the rope to free myself. I threw a glance at Hendro as my heart thumped like crazy. Heat rushed through me.
"You are the gift of the moon!" Hendro screamed.
"Cheaters! You have no shame! This girl is worthless!" he said to Layla.
"I'm done with all of you playing with me. You can't trick me anymore."
"This time I will kill the true gift of the moon."
"Your power will be mine."
Fuck shit. I quickly pulled the string on my right hand and when I finished that, I also untied the string on the other hand.
I sat up from the stone and reached for my foot to unleash my feet. I quickly cut the knife through the thick rope.
I looked up at the sky and the moon turned completely green.
It happens once in a hundred years.
I quickly untied the foot strap.
I was about to get out of the stone bed when Hendro appeared in front of me.
"Leave her alone Hendro!" Asmo shouted.
"Why? Is she something to you? I didn't know you were a Vointeroiz."
"You'll regret what you did to him, Hendro!"
"You will not like what Sexira will do to you!"
"Sexira? She will kill her for herself. I will use it to make a better world for vampires."
"There's nothing wrong with our world. You want to create chaos for both vampires and humans. And we won't let you!"
"Really? Not if I kill her." He then looked at me.
I swallowed hard.
Fuck shit.
I'm the gift of the moon.
The real gift of the moon!
But how did it happen?
Shit.
I don't know how this works.
My eyes widened when Hendro suddenly strangled me.
What is wrong with this vampire? The tendency to choke!
I coughed as he choked me. My feet lift from the ground. He waved his hand once again.
I look at Asmodeus. Blood vampires surrounded him.
It was kneeling like Silvana and Silvhari.
The blood vampires formed to prevent them from freeing themselves.
I was out of breath but I managed to hold the dagger I had in my hand tightly.
I was afraid to stab Hendro but he quickly put it away.
He threw the dagger on the ground.
His grip on my neck tightened. I looked up at the sky and the moon turned completely green.
Everything suddenly went black.
I gasp as I open my eyes. I woke up in the forest. Right where I was a while ago. I looked around.
What is going on?
Where are Asmo?
Hendro?
It feels like I've been transported here in a second.
An enchanting sound caught my attention. I didn't know where it came from but a light shear of green dust appeared in front of me and I followed it.
I don't know where it's heading me into but I keep on following it.
There's something about the green dust that makes me enchanted with it. I looked up at the sky but the green moon was no longer there.
The green dust stops in the middle of the forest, where the falls are. I creased my forehead.
Where is the green dust now? Where did it go?
I gazed at the forest waterfall.
Isn't this the waterfall where Asmo's mother seeks refuge as he said in his story?
What's in here?
This is where I fell! Where Asmo confessed his feelings for me.
But why did the green dust bring me here?
And why did the green moon disappear earlier?
Where are you?
I step forward to take a peek down the waterfalls. I gulped as I saw how the small rock fell into it.
I still remember how painful it was when I fell into it the last time.
But what is that?
My eyes squinted as a glimpse of green shining light peeked behind the waterfalls.
What is that?
I knelt on the edge of the circle trying not to fall.
"Adra!" a scream made me shriek and tripped, making me fall to the waterfall.
The cold waves of water touched my skin, made me shiver but I swam my way to the other side where I saw the green light that's shining.
But the waves made it impossible for me to actually swim towards it. I took a deep breath before I dived into the water.
I open my eyes underwater and try to see if I can see something.
And there it was... there's a cave underground, it's small enough to fit a human through it. I swam through it. As I put my head above the water.
There's another cave where everything is greener and beautiful. It wasn't dark like the other underwater cave.
It's almost the same, but it's more beautiful, green and it's filled with the green dust. It's a parallel cave next to the other one!
A shining light, blinds my eyes so I put my hand to cover the shining light and try to look up to see what it was.
My eyes widened as the green moon shines through me.
There it is!
The green moon is here!
On the parallel cave of the underwater falls!
My mouth gaped at the beauty of it.
I grab tightly on a stone and give it my all to push myself up to the ground.
When I got out of the waterfalls I looked for a way to see the green moon up close.
I looked for a stairs then suddenly a wooden staircase filled with beautiful flowers and green dust appeared beside the waterfalls.
I took one step on the stairs.
I pursed my lips as I saw the green dust spread all over my feet. It was ticklish. I keep on walking up the stairs until the green moon is close to the touch.
I raised my arm, reaching to the green moon when a green dust appeared right in my eyes, startling me, making me fall from the wooden stairs.
I grasp the handle with my right arm but it's slippery and I can't hold onto it anymore.
I swallowed hard as I looked into the waterfalls.
Why does it look deeper now?
Sweat is rolling down my forehead as I try to make my way up again back up the stairs but my hand gave up on me.
I lose a grip and fall into the deep end.
I gasped deeply as I fell back to my reality.
I woke up to a wiped up forest. There's dust everywhere. The trees, leaves and the ground became lifeless.
I was lying on the ground, I sat up and noticed that Layla was lying helplessly on the ground beside me.
"Are you okay?" Asmo asked.
My eyes met Asmo's cognac eyes piercing right through me.
"Gosh! I thought you died!" Silvana said.
"What happened?" I asked.
What happened?
"Where are the blood vampires? W-what happened to Hendro?"
"You didn't know what happened?" Asmo asked.
I shook my head.
"What happened? I didn't know… I went somewhere down the waterfall. The moon was…." I cut myself off and looked up at the sky.
The moon was there but it wasn't green anymore.
"The green moon was there."
"Huh? Where?"
"In the underwater cave. The waterfalls!"
"Huh? There are no waterfalls in the middle of the Adra forest," said Silvana.
I threw a glance at Asmo.
He was staring at me.
I knew he knew what I was talking about.
"Never mind." I muttered.
"What happened to Hendro? Did you defeat Them? How? Then—"
Asmo cut me off.
"You burst out a green light," he said.
"Huh?" I asked, completely confused.
I burst what?
"There's a green light that comes out of you. Your eyes become fully green and you float in the sky."
"I did that? And then what?" I asked.
"When the blood vampires tried to reach you, they turned into dust."
My mouth gaped at what she said.
"They turned into dust? How?"
She pursed her lips then smiled.
"Well, you're the gift of the moon Adra. You're too powerful."
"W-where is Hendro?"
"He left as fast as he could when he saw the blood vampires turned to dust."
"Then we hide behind the tree because your green light is turning the forest into dust and then you fall to the ground."
"Did I kill them all?"
Silvana nodded.
"I didn't mean to..."
"Yes but they're trying to hurt Adra. It's just the right thing. If you didn't do that, we would be dead by now."
"But—"
"I can't believe it, Adra. You are the gift of the moon. It's true." She said, her eyes are gleaming in excitement.
"How did that happen?"
I stared at her.
"I… I don't know."
"We should leave," Asmo said.
Before Silvana could speak, Silvhari arrived.
"She's coming," he said. His voice is shaky.
He and Asmo looked at each other as if he knew what Silvhari was saying, he knew who was coming.
But who is coming?
And why does Silvhari look frightened?
Asmo turned to me. "Let's go."
"W-who's coming?" I stammered.
I threw a glance at Silvhari who's talking to Silvana. Both of them are muttering something. Silvana is fidgeting while Silvhari is anxious.
Instead of answering me Asmo grabbed my hand.
"Let's go, Adra. You are not safe. She knows now."
"Of course she knows now! She burst green light! I'm sure that green light reaches her vision! Her senses! The gift of the moon is Adra! The prophecy is true!" Silvana said in distress.
What the fucky shit is going on?
Who is coming? Who knew?
"You need to leave now Asmo. Hide her. We'll do everything we can to cover up everything." Silvhari assured Asmo.
"Adra let's go," Asmo promised firmly.
He reached for my hand but I avoided his hands.
"Wait, what's going on? Who's coming? Why do I need to leave? I shouldn't be terrified if it's the blood vampires I can turn them into dust and—-"
"They're just the blood vampires, Adra. She is different! And we don't know what else you can do, it's just a burst of light. You have no match to her knowledge when it comes to power," he said firmly. said Asmo.
"But I'm the gift of the moon!" I insisted.
"And she's the vampire queen."
I stopped at what he said.
"You've been human all your life, Adra. She's been a vampire queen ever since. So please, come with me before she gets to you."
I pursed my lips. Trying to weigh my decision.
I'm the gift of the moon but I'm still no match with the vampire queen.
What's the meaning of being the gift of the moon?
"She can take your power easily, Adra, if you don't know how to defend it," Silvana said.
"Maybe that's why you heard my thoughts for the first time. It's because you are one of us. Even more than that!" she smiled.
I took a deep breath.
"Adra, please. Trust me." Asmo said.
"How can I trust you Asmo?"
"Adra please, I want you to be safe even if you are mad at me. At least you are safe and if you don't want to see me anymore I want to assure myself that you are safe and I did everything I can to keep you alive."
"But I don't need your help I'm the gift of the moon—"
"Adra, listen to me. You don't know her, we do! I'm telling you. She can kill you and Hendro is still out there. Even if you are the gift of the moon. Two of the powerful vampires are after you. You're still new to this, you need time to harness it."
"Asmo, there's no time to teach her. Just leave!" Silvhari screamed.
This time, Asmo didn't waste any chance he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him.
"Wait! Who the fucky hell is after me?!" I screamed.
Asmo looked me in the eyes, with his dark piercing deep eyes.
"Sexira is coming for you."
