Weird
"Adra! Gosh! I've been looking for you everywhere! Your cell phone is so big it's like it has wings! You came so far, huh?" Alta said as she came closer to me.
What just happened?
Is what I saw true?
But why did he disappear?
I turned around, trying to find him in the woods but he was gone.
I looked down on my phone. It was lit and I could see my lockscreen.
Why does he look like the one on my wallpaper?
"Hey? Are you okay?" she asked.
"He was gone," I answered.
"Huh who?" He frowned at this promise.
"W-there was a man here earlier!"
"Huh?" Its eyes widened.
"Who is that man? Alessandro? Maybe he's already home?"
"No! It wasn't him. He is very different from Alessandro. Who is he?" I murmured as I bit my lips.
"Oh, I know you! Maybe you're hallucinating, Adra? Or it's just that I'm hungry, let's go upstairs. Good thing your cellphone isn't broken. It's still expensive! It's you, keep it hidden, painting I thought it was a naked picture of Alessandro!" She laughed.
Alta walked out of the forest while standing where I stood, overwhelmed with everything that happened.
Am I just imagining everything?
Is he an illusion? Hallucinations? Am I delusional?
Fuck shit.
What is wrong with me?
It's been two days since what happened in the forest. I don't know if I really saw that man or maybe I was hallucinating like Alta said. I just ignored it and continued with what I was doing. I visited Kila Tito and he was looking for Mom.
That's when they found out that Mom didn't actually agree to let me come here. But of course I asked.
Since this is the first time I come back for years. I talked a lot with Tito, while Alta was looking outside their house, suspiciously looking for something, or someone.
Who knows?
She's been acting weird lately.
It's like he's watching someone or something.
The next day I was very eager to look for the man that I saw. I'm not sure if he is real or what but I want to find that out.
When I went, I found nothing but trees.
I sighed.
"Is he really real?" I asked myself as I looked around.
What if I'm the only one hoping that guy is real? So why do I want to see that man?
He doesn't even have any connection with me. So what's wrong with me now? This is crazy stupid if you think about it.
I looked once again to the forest.
Maybe I'm just imagining him.
I turned around and walked towards Alessandro's mansion.
For the next few days I tried not to go to the forest or even look at it. I feel weird just by looking at it.
I don't know why and I don't intend to think about what it is.
Alessandro told me that we are going shopping today with Alta but it's already been an hour since our time agreement.
"Is Alessandro still gone?" I asked one of the staff houses.
She shook her head. "Not yet."
I sighed.
I looked at my phone, hoping to see a message from Alta and Alessandro but to my disappointment, there was no message at all.
"Hmm… go ahead. Thanks." I said let's go together.
If these two don't show up, I'll just go to the mall first and obey them. I don't want to wait for them that long. Another thing is that I'm bored here at Alessandro's mansion because I'm not doing anything, I'm only more tempted to go to the jungle.
Which I shouldn't do at all.
I went straight to the Mall and while walking around I couldn't take my eyes off an art gallery.
That's why I went there and looked at the paintings.
I don't know when was the last time I painted but it felt like years, I don't even know how to paint anymore. I'm not sure if I still have the skill or the talent since Mom keeps on preventing me from actually harnessing that skill. But I knew Dad used to paint before.
"Hi, do you paint?"
I turned to the woman beside me who suddenly stood beside me and asked a question.
My eyes widened as I was mesmerized by her looks. She is really gorgeous! And the way she smiles is so pretty.
"Huh?" I stammered.
"Do you paint? Do you like this painting?" She asked, pointing out to a road painting in front of us.
"Ah… yes. M-nice."
"I painted it," she said with a smile.
"Really?" I asked.
Her smile turned into a cheeky smile.
"No! No way. I can't paint. But I know someone who is good at painting."
"Really?" I asked, smiling. It's just for fun.
"Yes, she's my friend. It's just sad that she has to move away."
"Well, that doesn't mean you can't visit her right? You can still meet, right?" I asked her.
"Yes, I will be so happy if she comes back and visits us." he said. I looked in her eyes and I could see the longing in it. Like she meant it with all of her heart.
I don't know her by name or by face but why do I feel like she's a lost friend of mine?
"Enough of my story. By the way, I'm Silvana." She gave me her hand.
I reached for it and shook it.
"Nice to meet you Adra," she said.
I frowned when he mentioned my name.
"How do you know my name?" I asked, confused.
"Uh…"
I squinted my eyes at her.
"You said it already."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes you did. How old are you? You forgot already?" She laughed.
"Uh, sorry. I'll just forget." I said as I scratched my head.
"Nevermind that, Adra. It's okay. Are you new here? I just saw you again."
My brows furrowed. Seen again? Did she see me already before? How is that?
"Ah, yes. Just visit. I miss my hometown." I said.
"That's good for you. Reminiscing and always looking back to where you came from."
I nodded. "Yes. I'm actually really happy to come back here."
"Aww.. so there have been a lot of changes here in El Colmillos since you left. Do you want me to show you around?"
"Huh?" I asked. What did she mean by that?
I don't understand. She made me so confused yet I like her company.
"Are you with somebody else or expecting someone?"
I shook my head.
"Not really. I don't think they will come. I've been waiting for them for two hours but they are not responding at all."
"Oh look at that, what a coincidence. My friends ditched me too," she said.
"Well, do you wanna go with me? I can show you around the mall." She said as she put her hands on my arms.
I can't help but smile. "S-sure."
