New Friend
Silvana and I had a good time going around the mall. We went to a spa together.
Even though we just met, I feel good about him. As if he was my long lost friend.
I don't know why I'm feeling that way but it seems like it.
Maybe that's how kind a person is. It's like you've known them for a long time.
I thought that Alta or Alessandro would call me but they didn't. We also went to the park.
One thing that I find weird about Silvana is that she knew our house back then. She reasoned that she knew all the houses here in El Colmillos, including ours so I don't think much of it.
Today Silvana and I will meet again. Alta and Alessandro explained to me that they were suddenly busy. I don't mind it besides I find a friend that I could always talk to and show me around places.
Silvana said she will accompany me to the underground waterfalls in the forest.
I don't even know that there are underground waterfalls in the forest. Like how did that even freaking happen?
That's amazing, that's why I'm so excited.
I was so excited that I was immediately at the part of the road where Silvana told me to wait.
"Adra!" Silvana screamed as she saw me near the road waiting for her.
I can believe that I would still make new friends even if it feels like ages since I've been here.
"Let's go?" She asked.
"Sure!"
She grabbed my hand and dragged me further inside the forest.
I looked around the forest. I flinched as my head pangs once again.
What is wrong with me? Why do I always get a headache every time I see or go to the jungle? Even just thinking about the forest gives me a headache. Also to the man I saw in the forest when my cellphone fell.
Why is there always something in my head?
"Hey what happened to you?" Silvana asked.
"N-nothing. Just a headache."
"A-are you okay?" She asked.
"Of course!" I said and smiled.
She stared at me, worried.
"Are you sure? You don't look okay. If you don't, it's okay Adram don't push yourself for this. This isn't easy. It's triggering you."
"Huh?" I asked.
What is triggering me? The forest? What does she even mean by that?
"What do you mean the forest is triggering me?"
I saw the panic in her eyes.
"Well," she said and looked around.
"You came from the city so, being out in the open, in the forest is triggering your city life. You know, you are not used to this kind of environment and it's affecting you like slight headaches you know." She explained.
Well, she is right. I'm not used to being out, being one with nature. I'm always with my laptop, in front of the screen and doing my job. Nothing else. Nothing more. I can't even do anything else that I really love aside from reading. I can't paint and even go out on my own, I always need to be with a friend or with Alessandro. Unlike here, I have my freedom. I almost forgot how it feels like to be free.
I don't know why Mom is not calling Alessandro but as long as it favors me. I'm good. I don't know how Mom will react to this but I know she will ask me to come back so I will seize the moment I have here in El Colmillos to explore and enjoy my freedom, my life.
"Hey, enough talking let's go!" Silvana said.
"You heard me?" I asked her.
"Yes I can," she said, seriously.
"R-really?" I stammered.
"Silly! You are staring into nothing! It is obvious you were thinking about something!" She laughed.
I laughed with her. She really likes joking around.
The headache is gone and it's like getting used to it.
I looked around the forest once again and I can't help but wonder why I know where certain things are.
Like when Silvana asked me if I knew where the nearest cliff was. I don't know why she asked me if she really knew the forest and she lived here for all of her life.
We didn't even get to the underwater falls when we got lost.
"I thought you knew where it was?" I asked her.
"Well that's the thing, only the people who have been there can only find the place."
My head tilted. "But none of us have been there." I said.
He kept looking at me as if he wanted to say something.
She wanted to say something but didn't have the guts to voice it out.
"A-asmo!" I turned behind me as Silvana stood up quickly and her eyes widened.
My eyes widened when I saw who it was.
It was him!
It was the guy that I saw!
The guy that I saw when my phone fell down! He was there! He is the one who picked up my phone.
He was freaking there! I'm not hallucinating at all!
"A-asmo, I can explain—" he cut her off.
"You shouldn't be here."
I turned to Silvana with a frown as if she was shaking with fear.
Fuck shit. What is going on? Why is she scared of him?
"With her." He said as he stared at me.
I swallowed hard.
His eyes...
His gunmetal eyes.
His gorgeous face.
"Oh!" I groaned and held my head.
"Adra!" Silvana screamed as she assisted me.
"Leave her alone Silvana. You are doing this to her," he said.
I hold tight to Silvana. "W-what is she doing to me? Why do you want her to leave? We just want to go to the underwater falls—-" He cut me off.
"You should leave now. It is not safe here in the forest for a girl like you," He said, seriously.
What does he mean that it is not safe for me?
Because I'm just a girl? Is that why he thinks it is not safe for me? That I cannot defend myself? To whom? From what?
"I'm so sorry Adra. I don't want to do this to you. I just miss— I just want to show you around the forest, especially the underwater falls." She said, years pooled in her eyes.
"It… it's okay Silvana, we can still go. It's safe for us. We can handle ourselves." I said as I looked at the guy's direction.
I don't know why I've been so obsessed with the thought of him. He is very rude.
Then what is he with Silvana and can he command?
He is very rude!
Who is he to tell Silvana what to do?
"Silvana," he called her.
"I… I need to go Adra." She said, She walked towards the guy.
"But—" I was cut off by him. I still want to talk to him and force him to stay but I don't know why he seems to be afraid of this man. As if he is a boss who needs to be obeyed. Even if it's not.
It's just ridiculous to me. Why does he have to do that to Silvana?
Thank you
"Let's go, Silvana." He said.
They walked away from me together.
Silvana looked back and I saw the guy murmuring something to her that I happened to hear.
"Leave her alone, Silvana."
