37. Sinful Book 2
"Samantha, what the hell is that noise?" Antonio's thunderous voice came in. The sound came from the top of the stairs.
"Why don't you come check out for yourself," Aaliyah yelled back. There was a pause, and then footsteps. While my eyes were fixed on the stairs, I didn't know Samantha had gotten up. I felt pressure pull my beanie from my head, then pull at my braids. I lost my balance and fell to the floor, but I wasn't going to give Samantha the satisfaction of beating me up. While her hands were still fixed on my hair, I grabbed her hand and turned around so I was facing her, I let one hand free from her hand that I grabbed and I sent a punch to her chest. Samantha fell backwards and I didn't falter. I ran to her, sat on her stomach and started my assault. Delivering punches across her face as imagined her putting her hands on Diego. She must've felt great, beating the boy to a fucking pulp, she must've loved it anytime he begged her to stop. I got angrier and my punches came harder.
I was just about to deliver my final blow to her face, but I was pulled away from her. My anger increased because I knew that the only person that had the strength to pull me away from Samantha was Antonio.
"What is wrong with you?" I replied him with a sweet slap across his stupid face.
"Don't you even try to stop me, and wait your turn, because I plan to deliver equal punishment to the both of you," I spat. Antonio pauses, looking at me me dumbfounded, with his hand sitting on part of his face I slapped. That must've stung.
"Aaliyah, please be a darling and help me get Diego. He's too good for these abusers," I spat looking from Antonio to Samantha. Samantha visibly froze.
"What does that mean?" Antonio touched my shoulders, I shook off his hand, promising him that the next time he touched me, I'd slap him with my eyes. Antonio's hands fell to his sides.
"Yes boss," Aaliyah shot Antonio a look of disappointment, shaking her head and she made her journey up the stairs.
"Sewa what the hell do you mean?" Antonio raised his voice. I didn't bother answering him because I wanted him to hear it from his lovely Samantha. He wanted to have a united family, he wanted to force a type of change, the change that he didn't get, and he failed. I didn't want him to hear about his failure from me, I needed him to hear it from the horse's mouth. I wanted to see him break down, knowing that I was right all these while, I wanted to see him cry and regret all his stupid decisions, including rejecting his unborn child.
I wanted Antonio to suffer, I wanted him to feel the pain I was feeling, but I knew, I knew deep down, that I would break if I saw him break down. I knew I was too fucking weak-hearted and too fucking in love with his stupid and dumb decision making ass to see him break down and not run to him. I knew I would break, but I wouldn't let him see me broken over him, not again. I warned him! I warned him about the dangers Samantha would cause, but he was way over his head to listen to anything that wasn't himself. That selfish bastard. I told him that I would never forgive him if Samantha did anything to Diego, and she did, right under his nose, in his own fucking house while he was too busy drowning himself in work instead of looking after his own child.
Aaliyah came back down with tears in her eyes as she looked down at Diego.
"You see this boy, and that woman over there?" She asked, pointing to me.
"You don't deserve them at all," Aaliyah shook her head, fresh tears falling from her eyes as she spoke.
"I thought I could defend you, and protect you forever, but this?" pointed to Samantha who sat on the floor, her hands on her swollen and blood face.
"This is the worst decision you've ever made, and I'm highly disappointed and disgusted by you," Aaliyah's breathing was calm, but you could tell that she was feeling so much anger and disappointment. Antonio stood there like a log of wood, confused as to what was happening, lifeless like a fucking zombie.
"Can someone at least tell me what's going on?" Antonio asked. I rolled my eyes and knelt down, opening my arm wide at Diego. Diego ran into my arms, hugging me tight.
"Why don't you tell him?" I turned to Aaliyah, still hugging onto Diego, hiding his face away from his horrible birth mother. I didn't want him to look at her, or her at him as the child was already scared and shaking in my arms.
"I have nothing to say. You both and trying to push things on me," Samantha cried, her eyes full of fear and trained on Antonio. I could feel the anger coursing through me again at her lies. The child she assaulted was right in my arms, and she had the guts to fucking lie?
I took in a deep breath, taking off the shirt Diego had on to reveal the truth of what the witch had been doing to him. I winced as the scars, some still fresh from yesterday when she beat him up, some wounds that were cut deep, they looked like they weren't attended to. Hot pools of tears spilled from my eyes as I inspected Diego's body. It looked just like it did when I took Diego from her the first time.
"I'm so sorry, baby, I'm sorry for coming this late," I cried. Diego put his arms around my neck, crying hard as he hugged me back.
"Aaliyah, please can you call Larry, tell him to get Diego's things from his room," I wiped my eyes. Aaliyah didn't answer me, she just walked out of the living room, wiping her eyes.
