38. Sinful Book 2
"Samantha?" Antonio called dangerously. I almost feared for what Antonio would do to her. Almost.
"I didn't do anything to him, I swear Antonio, you have to believe me. I wanted to tell you that he was getting bullied at school, but I didn't know how to say it," Samantha cried. I got up, walked to her and slapped her across her stupid face.
"You don't have a conscience, do you?" I asked her. She was quiet.
"Say the truth or I will, and if I do, I will deliver each word with a slap until I'm done saying all the horrible things you've done!" I threatened. That seemed to get Samantha's attention. I guess she didn't like my slaps across her face.
"I'm a horrible person Antonio," Samantha cried, looking down at her fingernails. Why was she trying to talk like she didn't enjoy doing what she did?
I turned to Antonio with a smile on my face, walking to him slowly, making sure that all his attention was on me.
"You failed, Antonio, you failed. And I warned you. If I didn't warn you, I would not blame you, in fact I'd blame myself, but I warned you about this witch. I warned you the first time you brought it up, after you brought it up, the night before she started coming to this house, I warned you two nights after her first visit, I warned you on her second day, I warned you three weeks ago, I warned you three days ago; I gave you hints about this stupid woman, I told you to get her out, but you didn't listen to me. I took Diego away from the both of you but came to take him back, feeling offended that I took him in the first place. You are a horrible person, do you know that? You broke this child!" I yelled in his face.
The defensive zombie walls Antonio put up we're crumbling down, and fast, I could see them in his eyes, the pain rushing in.
"You don't even have any right over him, as long as I'm concerned, he's not your son!" I pressed. Antonio took one step towards me, to warn me? To stop me? I don't know what he was thinking as he took that step, but he didn't touch me.
"I thought you had changed, I thought jay you would at least love this child from the bottom of your heart," I laughed
"No wonder you rejected my child," I spat.
"You eat and sleep in this house without noticing that your child hasn't been happy. The light has been taken away from his eyes by that witch. You go to work everyday and don't check on your kid, whether he's okay or not. Had you carried him once, you would've felt him wince and know what has been happening. This child goes to your study to cry out his eyes anytime this horrible woman beats him up. This child cries in your study, hoping that you would at least walk in one day to him crying and protect him," tears fell from my eyes as I spoke. Larry and Aaliyah walked in, not saying a word as they watched the exchange.
"Samantha? You laid your filthy hands on him?" Antonio pushed past me to Samantha. I watched as she shifted uncomfortably in fear as Antonio walked over to her.
"You lied countless times," Antonio raised his hands to slap Samantha, but Larry rushed over to him, stopping him.
"You'd regret it, and the little one is watching," Larry turned to Diego. Some part of me was grateful to Larry for stopping him, the other parts wanted him to beat her up to a pulp.
"I hate you," Diego finally let out. Antonio froze, taking a step back from Samantha. This was it, Antonio was breaking down. He took some more steps back until he was backed up against a wall. Antonio fell, grabbing onto his hair as we watched every one watch him. I didn't want to do this to him, I didn't want him going through this much pain, but it was inevitable. The moment he let Samantha back into Diego's life, that was the moment he set himself up for this much destruction.
"You don't deserve him, or the one in me. You don't deserve them at all! You know, I find it funny how your father was the bad guy, when you're just like him! I don't know, maybe it runs in the family," I pressed more on his already hurting wounds.
"You are going to get the punishment you deserve. Hell, I'll lie if i have to so you rot in fucking jail," I turned to Samantha. She was shedding fake tears again.
"You can't escape it. You dug your own fucking grave the moment you tried to mess with me," I spat and on cue, sirens started wailing. Aaliyah and Larry carried Diego up to his room after his outburst to pack up his stuff, leaving me with a crying Antonio and a stupid Samantha.
Samantha looked up at me, anger etched on every inch of her face. She got up from the ground, running to me with all the strength she had. I wasn't ready for the impact when Samantha pushed me to the floor.
"If I'm going to rot, you're going to rot with me you fucking bitch!" Samantha punched my stomach. I let out a loud squeal at the pressure on my stomach. I tried to move, but my body felt heavy. Samantha was holding me down with her leg on my stomach, pressing her legs further into me, then she started kicking.
I turned to Antonio, stretching my hand out for help. His eyes were open, but he couldn't see. He was in his own world of pain to be worried about me in any way.
I cried, feeling a fresh wave of pain wash over me. Samantha kept kicking repeatedly in that one spot, not giving up once. As she kicked, felt my heart stop, then it started beating wickedly against my rib cage, causing even more pain. My head was spinning from all the pain I was feeling, my mind closed off from everything and everyone, betraying my body and leaving me to suffer the pain all alone.
I could feel my body becoming numb but even through the pain, I had only one prayer. Please God, keep my baby.
