An awkward morning
Alana tossed and turned and finally, her alarm clock went off. As much as she wanted some peace. She couldn't sleep through the night. And when she sat upright. She pushed her hair off her face and tied it in a bun. Glancing around she realized where she was
“Just great” she muttered and fixed her eyes on the man sleeping on the bed with sheets wrapped around his body. For a grown man, he didn't know how to sleep. To think he was by the edge of the bed if he moved even a little. He would fall right off the bed and land heavily on the floor
“Ouch,” Alana muttered just thinking about the man falling made her want to laugh her lungs out,
She glanced down where she was and let out a helpless sigh. Having her mother-in-law was a bad idea. She came unexpectedly to her son's house, but everything was ruined when she came to know she was sleeping in the same room.
Alana recalled how angry Marcela was at her and Ricardo. She immediately asked Mrs. Marks and other servants to move her things to Ricardo's room. The man didn't seem to like the idea of sharing his room. How rude of him to order her to sleep on the floor away from him.
“Such a horrible man,” she muttered, rolling her eyes in annoyance and rose from the floor. It was so comfortable sleeping on the floor even if she added a few blankets.
After folding the blankets and putting them back in the closet. Alana decided to take a quick shower before the man woke up
She didn't want Ricardo to wake up and bump into her. How awkward it would be
Alana thought and was about to rush to the bathroom when she saw something. The man was slowly moving in his sleep. How was he a heavy sleeper, but she recalled hearing him come to bed around one in the morning? He slept late and obviously would wake up late
“It would be fun seeing him fall and hit his big head on the floor," Alana wondered as a sinister smirk crept on her face. She would stay and watch a good show. However, she felt sorry for him and rushed to his bed. Alana dropped to her knees and stretched out her hands as if to catch Ricardo from falling
The man kept moving as the sheets completely tangled all around him. Just as he was about to fall off, his eyes opened, only to meet with Alana's intense gaze. His eyes narrowed suspiciously when he glanced at her hands then looked at her and blinked multiple times as if asking what was done
“Um, well…you didn't fall…he-he,” she said awkwardly in between fake laughter. Of course, he didn't fall, he was a man and not a child
“Who gave you the rights,” he muttered coldly when Alana realized her hand was touching his leg which had fallen over the edge. Swallowing hard, Alan retrieved her hand and was about to get up, unfortunately, she tripped on her two feet, lost balance and ended up falling on him Ricardo lost his grip and both fell to the floor with the woman on top of him
“Oh my gosh,” she whispered while struggling to get up, the man she moved on him the more Ricardo when her knee brushed on his hard-on and caused him even more pain
“Don't move to damn it,” he let out a low growl and Alana stopped immediately, slowly she brushed her hair off her face which had fallen over Ricardo's face. Something was not right as Alana attempted to climb off him, but each time. Her knee brushed on something soft and hard at the same time. The more she moved, the more the man beneath her grunted
“I'm, I'm so sorry,” she finally managed to get off him and sat to the sides. Ricardo let out curses as he struggled to sit up, Alana's eyes accidentally landed on something bulging out of his pants as he rose to his feet, and she quickly averted her eyes and cleared her throat awkwardly
“Such a clumsy fool,” Ricardo muttered and walked away, didn't she know anything about tempting a man in the morning or was she such a loose woman
“I… I didn't see anything,” Alana blurted out, raising her hands in the air in surrender form just as the bathroom door closed with a loud bang, startling Alana. Biting her lip awkwardly, Alana decided to sneak out and take a shower in another room
What an awkward morning. Next time she would avoid what happened or else the man would eat her alive.
When Alana had taken a shower and was ready to head to the office before Ricardo. She was called back by Marcela
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” Alana entered the dining room and found Marcela feeding Santiago while teaching him about breakfast
“Good morning mom,” Alana greeted Marcela with a smile and sat down and watched her feed Santiago
“Sit down dear, Mrs. Marks serve her please,” Marcela said gesturing for Mrs. Marks to serve Alana breakfast. It was awkward for Alana to sit at the dining table
“He's adorable," Alana said, referring to Santiago. Despite how Marcela was talking to him. Alana noticed he didn't say anything, although he ate his food,
“He's a sweet boy, Mrs. Marks…bathe him and get him ready for school”
“Yes ma'am,” Mrs. Marks came forward to get Santiago and left the room with him. Silence fell in the room apart from the sounds of jabbing forks and knives on the plate in an attempt to grab some omelets
“So, how have you been Alana,” Marcela said breaking the silence, Alana smiled as she took a sip of water and looked at her mother-in-law
“It has been great,” she said faintly, although it wasn't it. Marcela noticed the sadness in her voice and put down her fork and knife
“Alana, sweetie. I know you must be feeling bad we forced you to do this," Marcela started. It was selfish of them to force the girl to marry Ricardo, but she was the only girl Erin and her could find to be Santiago's mother
“It must be difficult adjusting to this…but forgive your mother and me, we didn't tell you the reason for this marriage,” Marcela added, and all Alana could do was sit silently
“It's because of Santiago… it's not fair for you to be Ricardo's wife knowing he has a child, but I'm begging you…” Marcela said, hoping Alana could understand her. Of course, Alana was still upset, she was now married to a man with a child. They should have told her about this before the wedding
“I deserved to know about this little detail,” Alana muttered choking out the words
“Santi is special…he had a rough childhood…it's hard to understand him, but I know you can be a good mother to him”
“My son doesn't need a mother…” came a deep voice, both Marcela and Alana turned toward the door and found Ricardo, staring at Alana with rage in his eyes
“Ricky,” Marcela called his name through gritted teeth not sure why he was overreacting
“He has me, I don't need another woman showing fake love to my son… I'm enough for him,” Ricardo said shooting angry daggers at Alana,
“He needs a mother. Stop being stubborn and listen to me,” Marcela was irritated with Ricardo's behavior. Yes, he was bitter after finding out all that Erica did to Santiago in the past
Ricardo believed that if Santiago's birth mother didn't love him, then no other woman would
“My son will be fine with me…stay away from him,” saying that Ricardo stormed out of the dining room leaving Marcela exhaling and inhaling silently, on the other hand, Alana was still thinking. Why was he protective of Santiago? Ricardo had such great hatred for women. She didn't do anything, and he disliked her
“Where is Santiago's mother?” Alana asked, startling Marcela back to her senses. She looked up and was hesitant to answer Alana, it was a delicate matter. Erica did more damage to her son and left Ricardo a bitter man.
