Brilliant wife
Alana sipped on her coffee while going through some files. She was surprised she had her own little office next to the boss's office. As his secretary, it was convenient for her to have her space, so she could carry out her work efficiently
After a long conversation with Marcela. Alana wondered what her mom got her into. Marcela begged her to stay and be Santiago's mother. She asked about his biological mother, unfortunately, Marcela said it was something she wouldn't want to discuss
“Hello Alana,” the door opened and Brigitte came in, Alana smiled shoved her laptop away and pushed the chair backwards
“So, how's your morning?” Alana asked, and Brigitte sat down and admired the office. Not pretty. She wondered how Alana managed to get the boss to give her an office. His former secretary never had one
“Great just fighting with the demons,” Brigitte said rolling her eyes in annoyance and started to open her lunch pack
“You mean your husband's issue… why are you ashamed of it…he's handsome,” Alana remarked, raising her brows mischievously. That man was every woman's dream. To know Brigitte was married to him
“He's not my husband, we are divorcing,” Brigitte said with a frown and served Alana some food and handed her a fork. Alana frowned and shoved the bowl back into her
“I would rather not butt in your personal life, but he seems like a good man,” Brigitte was something else. They've known each other for like four days, but they kind of clicked. Alana found Brigitte quite an interesting woman. She was kind and intelligent
“He's a pervert, a good-for-nothing man…didn't you see him…he paints naked women…who wants a husband like him,” Brigitte said with her mouthful, the hate she had for Camillo was something she couldn't control. Alana frowned not sure why Brigitte was acting childish
“That's all huh, I saw it… but he's an artist right… I mean, why would you divorce your husband because of something silly,” it was ridiculous to hear Brigitte state her reason for divorcing her husband
“You don't know that disgusting man, I regret getting married to him… I'd rather not have such filthy hands touch me,” Brigitte said bitterly and ate her food. He was starving, she needed to go back to her original post as the advertising manager since the receptionist was back.
“Actors kiss their co-stars all the time…they do more, tell me do their wives divorce them for touching other women,” Alana said pointing out the facts, Brigitte was exaggerating things. She was overreacting, maybe she needed to find another excuse to tell people
“You won't understand Alana, marriage isn't always as sweet as we women imagine it…” Brigitte muttered and picked up a few napkins and wiped her mouth. Alana didn't answer but watched Brigitte “once upon a time, I dreamed of having a ravishing wedding, and it happened… but occasionally I don't think marrying the person you claim to love is a good idea” she added raising her hands in the air and got back to eating.
“Um, I don't get it?”
“Do you want to go clubbing, later on, I feel like dancing," Brigitte said instead and Alana was even more confused
“I know you are married, gosh… I forgot…anyway…later on, I'll be busy, the boss has been furious lately,” Brigitte added, entirely ignoring the discussion about her divorce. Alana nodded and got back to looking at her laptop screen
“Why?” She wanted to know why Ricardo was always angry
“Because there's a big project coming up, the team is expected to come up with different designs…something unique, unfortunately, he doesn't like anything they presented,” Brigitte said with a sigh and stopped eating. Alana's brows creased questionably
“People aren't robots you know,” Ricardo had to chill, even if he wanted something exceptional. He didn't have to make other people's lives a living nightmare
“That's the point alright, this is about the company's reputation… you and the others are part of this…if we don't produce something to take over the industry then our rivals will take advantage,” Brigitte remarked helplessly, Alana didn't answer but went into deep thought. She attended a few board meetings and heard something similar. If he wanted to produce unique jewelry and such, he needed to change a few things. She had a few ideas which could work. But she couldn't tell him, he wouldn't agree.
While Alana was thinking about talking to Ricardo, Camillo and Ricardo sat in the office discussing work
“Did you tell Armando about this?” Camillo said, leaning back in his chair. Ricardo was already exhausted despite arriving at the company
“He doesn't have to know, I'll fix this mess myself,” he knew what to do. It was best that Armando didn't find out anything. He entrusted the company to him; hence it was up to him to solve any problem
“I think you should chill, you just got married… and I met your wife,” Camillo remarked with a mischievous grin, the man before him didn't invite him to the wedding. They've been friends since their college days back in New York, although they separated when they went their separate ways and met a few years later in Paris
“Why don't you worry about your reputation, isn't it enough that your divorce is causing an uproar,” Ricardo suggested, he didn't even know why he decided to use Camilo for his work. But he had to say, Camillo was quite an influential man, his father was well known. His father was Mexican while his mother was French, Camillo was the only child; hence they spoiled him from birth. He was an artist, although Ricardo found his work quite inappropriate
“She's beautiful, you hit the jackpot… I asked Gaston to look her up, she's everything you want now…why don't you talk to her” Camillo said and reached for some files he came with. Ricardo was surprised that Camillo stooped so low.
“My wife?” Ricardo asked in disbelief, although the woman wasn't his favorite and was being forced down his throat. He still found it awkward for another man to look her up
“Chill, I just wanted to make sure she's clean and yes…she graduated last month with a distinction in Visual arts…” Camillo said and handed Ricardo the files. He was hesitant at first but took them
“I don't need her help…she's nothing to me,” Ricardo spat out bitterly and threw the files away. Camillo arched his brows and let out a sigh. His wife was everything he needed when it came to work. she was well educated. Of what he found out about her. Alana was brilliant with things relating to fashion. All Ricardo had to do was approach and let her shine
“You gotta be kidding. I'm begging my wife to stay with me, and you are trying to get rid of yours…how funny, “Camillo said in between chuckles seeing the predicament they were in. Ricardo didn't answer but got back to work, he was already frustrated with work to be bothered about a woman.
