My Kisses
I once saw a movie. You know those scenes when the protagonist's view becomes blurry and only focuses on a person? For a time I saw him that way. It’s like other things got more blurry and useless. The only one that’s clear is him.
The only amusement ride we rode is the ferris wheel, because that’s the only ride that doesn’t have much line. I got a bit scared when we reached the top but Aciel’s hands were there to steal my attention every time I felt nervous.
”I’m sorry about that night.”
I glanced at him. For a while I didn’t know what he’s talking about but soon I got what he’s saying.
”You know that-”
”It’s not a good idea to talk about it now, Aciel. I’m hella freaking out.” I groaned.
He chuckled and pressed me to his body more. I shrieked because the gondola swayed while it’s still going.
”Jesus! Aciel!”
All he did was laugh more. Looking down and seeing the tiny people and things freaks me more.
I didn’t mind him and tightened my hold more into his hand and to the steel. I gulped in nervousness. His light chuckles are not helping me at all.
”And Hugh said this will be romantic? Bullshit huh?”
”Huh?” I asked because I heard him whisper something.
He shook his head. Gladly, that ride ended with Alia alive. I realized that you can want things that are not meant for you. I like theme parks but I just can’t with these rides.
When the night was getting colder, we decided to go home. Glancing at the high buildings I remember the building I went to this afternoon. That’s Evans’? That’s his?
”Was that your building? The one we’ve been this afternoon?” I asked while he’s driving.
He nodded.
”What’s your business?” I tried my luck. I know that he has a lot of business. I’m just trying my luck if he's gonna open up.
He glanced at me before answering. I got a bit nervous.
”Several.”
”Hmm.” I nodded. “Like what?” I added.
He breathed out before answering. “Hotels, constructions… I invested in a tiny business as well.”
”How about the steel business?” I asked.
I saw how his eyes focused when I asked him that. For seconds I regret that I asked him that. I think I’m being too obvious?
”Uhm, I saw Evan Steel in your office a while ago.” I reasoned out.
The side of his lips rose up and I smiled awkwardly. I thought he wouldn’t say anything about it so I focused my sight outside.
”Yes. That’s my parent’s business when they are still alive.”
My lips parted. So am I right? That article in the tabloid is right?
”Oh,” I responded. “You managed it when they died?”
”Several years later. Yeah.”
”Why did it take years?” I asked.
He glanced at me with his serious eyes. It’s like my senses knocked me. I’m asking too many questions.
”Are you that interested?” he smirked.
My heart thumped. Did he get me? I stared at him nervously.
”It’s a long story. Hmm?” He held my hand for seconds.
It’s either he doesn’t want to say anything about it or he’s telling the truth. I just nodded in return and stopped fishing for some information.
The next few days surprisingly got better than I expected it to be. I have to halt the plans in my head and take everything slow because I thought Aciel is a bit too wise for this. I got so nervous for our last conversation about their steel business. Because the way he declined the idea of answering me, seems like he knows something. Though I know I’m just paranoid.
“You’ve been going home early these past few days.” I stated once while we’re eating our early dinner.
”You need some company here.”
I blinked at his answer. “So that’s the reason why you’re doing your work upstairs?”
He didn’t answer and intentionally ignored me.
”You know that I don’t mind being alone right? Of course I get bored but don’t you think it’s much better if you’ll just let me go outside rather than going home with unfinished work?”
He stopped chewing. His eyes bore to me. There’s this nervousness again inside me. That feeling that every time I open up things, he’ll find out my real intention in saying those.
”No.” he uttered.
My shoulders fell but I didn’t lose hope.
”I’ll just go to libraries.”
”There’s plenty of books upstairs, if that ain’t enough for you I can buy you more.”
I got so frustrated. I let go of the cutlery harshly. He was a bit stunned by my actions. Here I am again throwing my annoying card at him.
”It’s not the same, Aciel. I want to go into an actual library. I want to go to malls. To parks!” I whined.
“And we’re going every time I have the time.”
”When YOU have the time.” I put emphasis, slightly sounding mad. “It’s not always you’re available. And I AM always available. I’ll die in boredom, Aciel.”
He didn’t answer. He avoided my pleading eyes and shook his head. “Still a no.”
I sighed harshly, losing some cards to throw. I bit my lips in frustration.
”I thought you’re not like them?” There. He lifted his head and looked at me.
”I thought you said I can do everything I want, now that I’m with you?” I added.
I saw a hint of guilt in his eyes.
”Was that all lies?” I guiltripped him.
”No.”
”Then let me!” I pleaded.
HE shut his eyes tight when I insisted more. I got a bit more ambitious. I stood and came into his seat. I stood there in front of him convincing him.
”Please? If you’re worried that I might ran away, I have Sibal with me. I just want to go to places like a normal person, Ace.” I pleaded more.
His tensed shoulder fell and he turned into me. He snaked his arms around my waist, it’s like he’s still having a hard time deciding if he’ll let me or not. Waiting for his words I sat into his leg and played with his hair.
“Please? I promise I won’t do things you’ll not like.” I said in a tiny womanly voice.
He sighed. He’s looking straight into my face and clenching his jaw repeatedly. I ran my fingers to his soft hair and without thinking I kissed his forehead. I saw him shut his eyes with that, his gripped on my waist tightened as well.
“Please?” I said and damp another kiss in his eyes. I did it repeatedly. Damping tiny kisses in his face and stopped when his lips were the only one that’s left.
”Please?” I asked.
”The way you give me names makes me weak.” He sighed. “But still a no.”
My lips parted. I think heat traveled from my neck up to my head because of too much frustration. I stood and quickly turned my back at him. I’m so mad! After all that pleading? I still can't believe he still didn't allow me!
”Hey,”
He grabbed my hand and I landed on his lap again. As soon as our eyes met he palmed my face and pressed his lips into mine. I got carried away by his hungry and sensual kisses. But when my alter ego told me that I shouldn’t be fighting his kisses, I stopped kissing him.
I’m panting a bit after that kiss while he’s acting ‘no sweat’. He shut his eyes tight and pressed his forehead into mine, making the tips of our nose touch each other’s.
”Damn it. You know I’m so weak when it comes to you. How dare you plead like that.” he groaned.
I pouted.
”Alright. Fine. I’ll let you. But in my own condition, alright?”
My eyes lit in joy. I can’t stop my wide smile realizing that he’s letting me go outside without him.
”Really?” I delightedly said.
”Yeah. Now come here and give me my kisses.”
He then pressed his lips again on mine and I let myself get lost at his expert kisses
