Guilty Pleasure II
I was shivering when I arrived at the place. Sibal drove me to the place and Ros tailed us from behind.
”T-this is the Lounge?” I asked Sibal because I wasn’t so sure about things in the vicinity. This part of the city seems to be more active than any other else.
”Yes ma’am, I’ll escort you.” he said before he got out of the car and opened the door beside me.
As we enter the Lounge, I’m like a stray kitten that’s lost and my only hope is Sibal who’s I’m holding on to. The men at the entrance looked so scary with their bulky physique and as we went on I saw some well uniformed men asking for some things but Sibal took care of it.
I wasn’t so sure about things anymore. When we entered the actual Lounge, I didn’t even have the time to comprehend, my first concern was to look for him even though I can't analyze what’s going on in this place.
Girls are everywhere, groups of people are having fun fancily. Drinks… waiters, and many more.
”Ma’am, he’s here.” I heard Sibal from behind guiding me to the direction he’s talking about.
When I turned my head in that direction, my eyes immediately darted to the group of people who’s having a little bit of commotion. A single man, the same as the man at the entrance, is there. And there he is, my birthday boy. Two men are beside him, it seems like talking to him while he’s chugging the liquor in his hands and not minding the two.
I closed my mouth and composed myself. “Sibal, I can do it. Just please get the car and we’ll go home.”
”You’ll need help.”
”Yes. I still need to talk to him.” I look at him with a pleading eye.
He nodded and left.
Slowly I walk near them. My introverted heart couldn’t stay uptight because what’s important to me now is for him to see me. And for us to go home now.
”You are not gonna ruin your name here, ape. You need to calm the fvck down.”
”Damn this motherfvcker. I’m not gonna stick my ass to you if you ever go to jail for ruining that asshole's face.”
I heard what the two men said to him. I cleared my throat as I prepared myself. He looks so drunk, while the two men beside him are still looking composed while tipsy at the same time.
Few more steps and I saw his tired and sleepy eyes stop on my foot. When he lifted his eyes up, dark hawk eyes darted into my face.
”Ace,” I called him.
I saw a hint of surprise but that immediately faded. He removed his gaze into me harshly like he didn’t see me.He then just jug the liquor in his hands - finishing it before leaning on the couch and closed his eyes.
I realized that the one man beside him got near me. It’s Hugh
”You’re the Emma- a while ago? Right?”
I nodded even though my eyes are still at Aciel’s.
”Yeah. You see, this asshole right here has been drinking like he hasn’t drunk for life. And then, suddenly thought of killing someone just because he wants to.”
I gasp a little while still looking at him.
“Might have any idea why he’s like this? He’s acting like a complete motherfvcker which is so not him.”
Idea? Of course. I should know the reason why he’s acting like this.
”Uhm… Is the party done now? I’ll be talking to him so we can go home now.”
Hugh’s eyes fixed into me. “You lived in his place?”
I nodded unconsciously. I saw him turn his head to the man who’s beside Aciel. Their eyes lingered at each other like they’re talking without actually opening their mouth.
Seconds after the man who’s beside Aciel let out a laugh while shaking his head. He didn’t say anything and just slapped Aciel’s head. I bit my lip when he did that because my man right there is completely black out.
I quickly went beside him and guided his head carefully. I pouted while looking at the man who hurt him. He just smirked and continued shaking his head, cursing every second.
”Alright miss. You can take him home now. Since our friends have gone home when he ruined our night out.” said Hugh.
I nodded. “I-it’s his birthday today?”
He pursed his lips. “Today? Hmmm, what time is it?” He glanced at his watch. “Yesterday. Yeah. His birthday was last night. Oh shit, I don’t know. Do you have someone with you? We’ll help you lift this burden.” he grinned.
I sighed in disappointment. I’m just so guilty now that his birthday had passed by without me greeting him. And what’s worse? Giving him a headache.
”Ace,” I whispered.
His eyes are still closed. I know he’s awake even though he's this drunk.
”Ace, you need to go home now.”
He slowly opened his eyes. My heart raced when his eyes fixed into me. I gulped due to nervousness.
”Why are you here?”
I wet my lips and shook my head. That’s not important anymore.
”You must go home.”
His emotionless eyes stared at me, not minding the two men who’s watching us.
”I’m asking you.”
I sighed frustratingly. “Sibal and Ros are waiting outside. Let’s go home now.”
I held his hand and tried to guide him but I’m too skinny for that. He just pressed me to his body, making the spaces disappear. I heard the throat clearing. We didn’t dare to bother. We just stare at each other’s eyes. Him, demanding for an answer. And me, demanding not to give any.
”Why did you follow me here? This does not concern you. You should have stayed at my place and planned your escape already.” he gritted his teeth
I gulped and my eyes got out of focus when he said those words.
”Yeah? That’s why you left me with your men right?”
I wanted to be sarcastic. Because that’s my escape route. Telling him the truth would just worsen that situation and I wouldn’t like that.
Before I said something the two men tapped his shoulder and said some words I couldn’t understand. I saw them going into a different table with different people. Now, we’re left alone.
”I left them and told them to follow everything that you say. So if you ever asked them to leave you alone, you know what they’ll do right?” he said, mocking me.
My nose flared with his blow. I couldn’t answer. Guilt. I’ve been buried in the ground by that guilt since a while ago, I didn’t know that his words would kill me continuously.
”Alright. I’m here. I didn’t leave. So let’s go home now.” I blinked my tears away.
His grip tightened when I said that.
”Why? You should have left me. That’s your plan right? Where’s your man? You should have called him and continued all the revenge you were planning against me.”
I shut my eyes tight. He’s drunk. I’m at fault. I should understand that.
”Let’s go-”
”I said where is your man?” he asked frustratingly.
”My man’s right here.” I uttered under my breath.
His grip weakened while his eyes went into my lips. I closed it because of mixed emotions. His dark aura subsided but it seems like a monster who’s preparing for a great fight. He bounced back and got angrier.
”Don’t bullshit me, Alia. I’ve had enough of your words. I don’t have pride anymore. You won, alright? You’ve hurt me. Please stop this.”
My heart sank hearing all his words. He sounded hurt. Hurt, that I don’t often see in him.
I bit my lips to stop the shaking. I couldn’t stop either. I’ve been wanting to stop this feeling that’s building inside me. The feeling that I’ve been denying for so long, that I’ve been hiding all in me.
I’m full of anger and that almost ate me wholly. But above all, that part of my life that’s left untouched was indeed reserved for him. That part that’s weak, lost and dependent.
”Don’t hurt me more please. I understand. Just please stop this because I don’t think I can ever forgive you.” his voice cracked.
I smiled a little and held his face in my palm. His sad eyes bore into me, watching me confusedly, why I’m smiling after all this pain that I’ve caused him.
”What if I say I’m not lying, hmm?”
His brows met at each other.
”Your my man, Ace. No one else will be.” I whispered and damn my lips to the side of his lips that had a bruise.
His eyes went blank when I did all that. I smiled and caressed his face soothingly.
”Can we go home now, please? I hope it’s not too late to celebrate your birthday.”
