###Chapter 104 Your Sense Of Belongingness Comes From Yourself
###Chapter 104 Your Sense Of Belongingness Comes From Yourself
I twisted my eyebrow, doubting. I asked, "Your sense of belongingness comes from me?"
He stopped talking and just stared at me.
I couldn't understand him, so I stayed silent.
It was an hour's drive from Greenville to Hempstead. Jordan took the trouble to sit next to me, but she didn't say a word, just quietly looking at the scenery outside the car window with me all the way.
"Dear passengers, we have arrived in Hempstead." The station broadcast rang as the bus stopped.
I got up and reached for the suitcase on the rack. Before I could reach it, the suitcase was taken away by a pair of white, large hands.
It's all dirty clothes and souvenir inside. It was not heavy, but it's also not light.
Jordan's height was about at least half my height. I looked up at him, reached for the box in his hand, and said, "Thank you!"
He held the box in his one hand, while the other hand took my hand. I twisted my eyebrow in shock, instinctively taking it back from his grip.
He held it more tightly and scolded me, "There are too many people! It's not safe!"
I frowned and said, "I know. Still, let go!"
He was indifferent. I tried taking it several times, but I was tightly held by him. The people in the car walked out slowly, and we went out with the flow of the crowd.
There were whispers around him.
"Wow! This man is so handsome!"
"Don't be crazy. Can't you see that he already has a wife? His wife is pregnant."
"Yes, it's a pity but his wife is so lucky."
Liam looked at me and smiled vaguely at the corners of his mouth.
Ignoring his expression, I lowered my eyes and followed the crowd.
There were many people lining up at the exit, and I was pregnant. Liam was willing to protect my belly. Fortunately, some people were keeping distance from me, and the journey out was smooth.
When we got out of the station, Jordan then took me to the side of the road.
I was a little impatient and said, "We're out. Let me go! I'll take a taxi back by myself!"
He lowered his eyes and looked at me with a concerned look. "I'll send someone to pick you up. I'll take you back later."
"No!" I stretched out my hand and he took my hand.
He pulled me hard by the hand. He was a little tough. "Just be obedient. Astley Group's stock fell back for a few days. Although it hasn't been too long, there were a lot of unsupported investors left hanging in the middle. You just left the Astley Group like that and did not rule out the possibility that there would be investors who will suffer losses and will try to get even with you."
"You don't have to scare me. The Astley Group had been in a low zone just for a week, so it won't go so far." I didn't even invest in stocks, which was why I couldn't quite understand him.
He looked at me like an idiot.
A black Bentley parked by the side of the road. Without telling me more, he handed the suitcase to the man in black who got out of the car and pulled me inside the car.
There were many cars near the station, but at that time people were coming. Even if I did not say much, it felt pretentious to be with him.
We sat quietly side by side.
Jordan quietly raised his hand and said to the driver, "Let's go to Red Roast Restaurant!"
I frowned, "Since I'm not going to Hampshire, I'll take a taxi back first."
With that, I was about to get out of the car and was held back by Jordan. "It's already noon. If you're not hungry, you don't care about the baby in your belly."
After trying to resist his hold in me, I said to him reassuringly, "I'll go back to the house to eat. Sister-in-law Marcela is there!"
He sneered at me. "If I'm right, you won't be able to eat when you go back. After all, Jordan spent more than half a month in the hospital yet you were indifferent. Which husband do you think can bear such indifference?"
As he spoke, he leaned closer to me with an ambiguous posture.
I moved, distanced myself from him, and said in disgust, "Still, no matter what, I will ever eat with you!"
"You can ignore me yourself!" As he spoke, he looked out of the window with dark eyes and raised the corners of his mouth with unparalleled arrogance and coldness.
I looked back and saw that a familiar black Tesla was parked not far away at the entrance of the station, and the window glass was rolled down.
It was Jordan!
After half a month of not seeing the person, his face looked a little haggard. Still, it did not affect his unparalleled handsomeness. His pair of black eyes, deep and dark, looked at our direction.
His expression was impossible to fathom. I couldn't tell between joys and sorrows in those grim eyes.
Out of instinct, I pushed Liam away, who was standing too close to me. However, Liam grabbed me harder because he didn't want to let me go. He smiled with the corners of his mouth and hugged me in his arms.
As he smirked and held me tightly, he looked provocatively in the direction of Jordan and said, "Hey, drive away!"
He was doing this to show Jordan!
As the window glass rolled up and the car rode far away, I pushed Jordan away. My chest was rising and falling out of anger.
"Liam, there's something wrong with you!" He obviously angered Jordan on purpose.
Letting me go, he leaned back in his chair and said nonchalantly, "How did you know?"
I was speechless for a moment and became so angry that I wanted to tear him apart. In the end, however, I could only stare at him and ignore his arrogance by looking out of the window.
The car drove downtown to the restaurant. We got out of the car and walked inside. Liam ordered the meal in advance, so as soon as we sat down, the waiter already served the food.
Because I was angry, I didn't eat much. Liam was always elegant, remaining poised. He ate a few bites and noticed that I didn't eat any more.
He picked an eyebrow and glanced at me lazily, "Not fit for your taste?"
I've always thought he was different from who he was five years ago, but I didn't know exactly what was it that changed. He shook his head slightly and asked, "Are you not hungry at all?"
He tilted his mouth and looked at me with one hand on his chin. "Aren't pregnant women good eaters?"
"Shut up!" I didn't know how to tell him, so I took a few more bites and said, "So what if I'm not very hungry?"
He nodded and looked at me with clear eyes, a little less rebellious and milder. "When did you fall in love with Jordan?"
I didn't want to talk about this topic, nor did I want to talk to him. I couldn't help twisting my eyebrows. "Liam, that is my own business!"
"But you are like my sister!" He spoke in a low voice, which was also secretly tough.
I felt kind of funny with what he just said, "You know we're not born from the same womb!"
He nodded. "Whatever!"
It felt like a soft and playful punch. He had a sense of powerlessness in his words.
Putting down the chopsticks, I said, "I'm full. It's getting late. I'll go back first."
He got up with me. "I'll take you back!"
He used to be cold and scary, but now he was more like a lost puppy following me around.
The car drove to Hampshire where the big villas were located. In one of the avenue during midsummer, there were birds passing by looking for food.
He didn't open his mouth, and I didn't have anything to say either.
The car was parked downstairs at the villa. He looked at me and said, "Aren't you going to invite me down for some juice?"
"It's not convenient!" After answering him these three words, I got out of the car.
He followed and grabbed me tightly. "Even if you don't admit it, we are still brother and sister. There is no reason why my brother would not like to see his brother-in-law. Ivelle, you can't deny that you have no relative in this world, except me, your brother. You have no one else."
These words stabbed me like dagger, sending an incomparably sharp pain into my heart. It made me unable to breathe, while looking at him. I looked at him with a depressed expression and said, "Jordan, you cannot put your burden on me. You have no family, no friends, and your heart is empty. You cannot pass to me your situation."
I always knew he was lonely, but I never said it out loud. However, once the conversation was opened, there was no more reason to hold back.
Looking at his gloomy face, I continued, "I used to have only a grandmother, but now I have a husband a child and Maisie. I'm not like you. You're like a nightmare, that's why no one comes near you."
