###Chapter 138 Love Was The Way It Was
###Chapter 138 Love Was The Way It Was
After a few hours of getting along, a woman like Alice Astley was a woman who was looked up to like a Phoenix. Her background can make her match a young and excellent man who had attracted worldwide attention. Why would she choose a man who was older than her and bore a bad name and reputation?
Ivelle Astley looked sideways at Jordan Astley and saw his black eyes staring ahead. His eyes were deep and unfathomable. She said, "Auntie must've loved Mr. Badger very much!"
If you were willing to carry so much burden and sacrifice for one person, you must love that someone very much.
Jordan raised his eyebrows and looked at her with thin lips. "What is love?"
Ivelle froze for a moment because she did not know what to say. What was really love for her? When she thought about it, she did not know so she remained quiet.
When they got home, it was already dark and Ivelle was so sleepy that she was pulled by Jordan to eat something first, then went to bed and fell asleep directly.
When Ivelle woke up the next day, it was already noon, and Jordan was not in the room. Downstairs, when Mrs. Harper Bradley who was arranging in Jordan's living room, saw me and so she came forward to smile and said, "Mrs. Astley, Mr. Astley has something to go out and told me to take care of your food."
Ivelle just nodded. She probably slept for a long time, so she had a headache.
After a simple meal, someone came and it was Alice. It was no surprise to see Ivelle. It was hot in the capital but she wore a long skirt and her long hair was pulled up to see that she had just finished eating. Alice smiled and said, "I thought that if we hadn't eaten, we would have gone out to eat together!"
"Auntie, have you not eaten yet?" Ivelle opened her mouth and looked at Mrs. Bradley and said, "Please prepare some food for my aunt!"
"Thanks. But I already had my food for breakfast at home." Alice opened her mouth and pulled Ivelle and said, "Go and change your clothes. Let's go shopping later. You are not familiar with it in the capital so I will take you to get familiar with it."
Ivelle was about to refuse, but Alice meant well. If she refused like this, it would probably not be good so she nodded and answered.
Jordan was well prepared, and there were a lot of maternity clothes at home. She found a white Louis Vuitton skirt to put on, and Alice pulled me out of the villa.
None of us could not drive and Ivelle was thankful because Alice brought a driver with them. In the back seat, she affectionately held Ivelle's hand and chatted. To be honest, she was not used to it. Fortunately, it did not take that long to get to the mall, the center of the capital. The hustle and bustle was not ordinary.
Ivelle got out of the car with her. Alice told the driver to find a place to wait, and then dragged her into the mall before she said, "You just came to the capital so you should buy a lot of things, and because you are pregnant, it is not convenient for you, as it happens, we bought all the things we need today."
Ivelle nodded and said nothing more than that. Jordan sent a message asking where she was. Ivelle sent him the address and followed Alice quietly listening to her blabbers.
About an hour later, Ivelle was a little tired. After a pause, she said, "Auntie, I don't have much to buy. Let's go back!"
The weather in the capital was too hot for too long a stroll. She still stared at the bottle in front of her and did not know what to choose. When Alice listened to her, she could not help looking at her and said, "What's the matter?" Are you tired?"
Ivelle laughed, "A little bit! If not, I'm afraid I'll have to go on shopping for another hour."
Seeing this, Alice called the driver and asked him to put it back in the trunk of the car and dragged Ivelle to the coffee shop. "We'll have a rest when we're tired, and we'll take a look at the maternal supplies later. You'll have a baby in three months, and you have to choose things for your maternity stage until you give birth carefully. Be careful when you say that they are men after all, and some things are not as attentive as us women."
Ivelle only nodded, a little tired indeed.
There were not many people in the coffee shop. It was quiet and elegant. Alice pulled her to sit down and ordered coffee.
She looked at Ivelle and said, "Ivelle, can you tell me about you and your cautious words? His temper has always been very cold. I used to go back to Hempstead to sneak a look at him, but he avoided me until the last time he came to the capital, he unexpectedly told me that he wanted to take you to stay in the capital for a few days." She just paused for a few seconds before continuing, "I did not expect that he would like to come to the capital to see me, but also with you."
Seeing that Alice's eyes were a little red and swollen, Ivelle panicked and said, "The Astley family is your home at any time. As long as you are willing to go back, Astley family will welcome you at any time."
She looked at her and laughed. "After all these years, my father must not want to see me."
'Grandpa?' She thought to herself.
Ivelle was stupefied. She looked at her and said, "Grandpa died a few months ago, did you not know?"
She was holding the hand of the coffee cup and looked at her in disbelief. "What are you talking about?"
Ivelle was so surprised by Alice's look that she did not know how to respond. She thumped for a moment and saw her suddenly bow her head and took a long breath, and her eyes turned a little red. Alice looked at Ivelle and confirmed, "What's wrong with my father?"
"Grandpa has been in poor health these years. He died with rectal cancer at the end of last year."
"Father." The coffee cup in front of her fell on the ground. She panicked as she heard the shattered sound and so she squatted down to pick it up, but the waiter came forward to deal with it.
Her voice trembled and said again and again, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
The waiter shook his head hurriedly. "No, it's all right. I'll just clean it up."
Ivelle reached out to help her. She did not know how to comfort her. Her apologies were not for the waiters, but for her deceased father. After all, the coffee shop was a public place and Alice was an elegant and sophisticated woman. She was in a panic and recovered in a moment when she did not know what to do. It was just that the look on her face was no longer like the well-behaved woman when she came here, and even if she smiled, it looked a little far-fetched.
"Auntie, it's getting late. Let's go back!" Ivelle spoke because she thought that such a thing, she may not be in the mood to continue shopping.
Alice nodded, "Well, let's go. You should also go home and have a good rest. You are tired after a long day of shopping."
At the door of the coffee shop, Alice stopped abruptly. Ivelle was holding her bag and noticed that Alice was not in front of me. They were was shocked to see what made Alice stop along the way.
The world for enemies was just too small!
Laura was at the door of the coffee shop. Behind her was Aaron who had his car keys in his hand. It seemed that he had just parked his car and came in.
"Aaron, get the car because we're leaving. Some dirty and slimy snake is here!" Laura spoke with a little bitterness on her face. Aaron glanced at Alice and Ivelle so he frowned slightly and nodded to follow what his mother said. They both turned to leave and were stopped by the waiter. "Are you two drinking coffee? This way, please."
Laura looked at the waiter and fixed her eyes on Alice and said, "Your shop is more suitable for entertaining such infamous women. The gathering place of the other woman is very good, but it is not suitable for me!"
The waiter was stupefied and looked at Alice. The coffee shop was quiet although occupied by lots of people, and the commotion here attracted the attention of many people with some whispering.
"What is this woman talking about?"
