###Chapter 144 Without Contact Is Like Being Dead
###Chapter 144 Without Contact Is Like Being Dead
Ivelle nodded and asked no more questions.
When they returned to the villa, Jordan was not there. There were several missed calls on her cell phone, all from Parker. She has been in the capital for some days.
It suddenly occurred to her that he had said that he would also come to the capital.
Ivelle called him back. The phone call got through after a few rings.
"Ivelle, are you going to be dead if you don't make any phone calls to us?" The man on the phone started to make a noise as soon as she picked it up. Parker, who was on the other end of the phone, bombarded her right away.
Ivelle couldn't help being stupefied. "What are you talking about?"
He paused for a moment. "Maisie and Jon!"
"It's Jon, isn't it?" Ivelle laughed. "Parker, the ambiguity between your words makes me a little at a loss as to what to do!"
"Bullshit!" He burst out laughing and said. "Send me your address later. I'll be in the capital, too. I'll come and see you!"
Ivelle nodded, chatted briefly, and sent him the address.
She glanced at the other missed calls on her cell phone. Some of them belonged to Liam but she didn't call back. Ivelle turned off her phone and sat in a daze in the living room.
When Jordan came back, it was already afternoon. When he saw me sitting in the living room in a trance, he frowned and put a blanket over my leg.
He held Ivelle in his arms and kissed her on the forehead and said. "Why don't you rest in the hospital for a few more days?" Ivelle looked up at him and saw that she did not know when the dregs of his beard had become a little black. The dark circles underneath his eyes were very heavy and he looked particularly tired.
"I don't want to stay in the hospital. Have you been busy lately? I haven't seen you for a few days. How can you be so haggard?" He closed his eyes and pressed his chin against Ivelle's shoulder, hummed a little, and then fell silent. She looked at him and saw that he was asleep.
She had held back a lot of things that she wanted to talk to him, but when Ivelle saw him in that state, she didn't want to put pressure on him again.
She chose to quietly stare at the coffee table in front of her.
Not long after, his mobile phone suddenly rang. It was Jordan's cell phone. She moved him a little and pat his back that was leaned on her shoulder. When she saw that he did not respond, Ivelle could not help but say. "Jordan, your phone is ringing!"
He gave a hum a little tired and said. "Answer it for me."
Then, he changed his position and went back to sleep. He looked particularly tired.
She took the phone out of his trouser pocket and saw that the caller ID was Nicole. He was slightly stupefied, not in a hurry to answer, and said again. "It's Nicole calling."
For a moment, he opened his eyes, took the phone that was still ringing from her hand, looked at Ivelle, and said. "I'm going to answer it!"
Right after that, he went out.
Oddly enough, she looked at the back of his departure but she was not so angry. She just looked at it lightly and took her eyes back for a long time.
Harper was in the kitchen as she prepared a stew and was in a daze. When she saw Ivelle, she could not help but reminded her. "Ma'am, you are going to have a baby in this area. Don't always sit there and exercise properly. You won't suffer when you wait for the baby, otherwise, you won't be able to bear it at that time." She pertained to the process of giving birth.
Ivelle nodded and got up to go for a walk in the yard, but when she thought of that day she encountered a snake, she got goosebumps.
So, she gave up and went upstairs into the bedroom.
When she saw that it was getting dark, Jordan should have returned when he went out. Ivelle stayed in the bedroom, a little irritable but was afraid to go for a walk in the yard.
She put on a pair of flat shoes and went downstairs.
When Harper saw that she was going out, she hurriedly said. "Ma'am, are you going out?"
"You can't go out there. Your husband told you last time that I can't let you go out alone. Wait a minute, and I'll go with you!" Ivelle saw her in a hurry to clean up the things in the kitchen.
I said. "No, I won't go far. I'll just walk around."
"Shall I go with you?" Dr. Evie came in to examine me. When she saw her getting bored, she asked if she could accompany her.
Harper was stupefied and said unsure. "Is that all right for you?"
This was obviously a question for her and Ivelle nodded. "Both are fine!" She beamed happily.
'It's good to have someone to follow and take care of her especially when something bad happens.' She carefully thought, not wanting to repeat what happened last time.
She left the villa with Dr. Evie. They didn't drive a car and just walked around.
She took Ivelle for a walk outside the villa, looked at her, and said. "Like me, you don't seem to be able to adapt to the fast pace of this big city!"
She nodded. "Hempstead is a fast-growing city, but it is not as fast-paced as the capital."
They began to engage in small talk and she said with a smile. "A few days before I came here, I went for a walk from time to time and I found a good place. The environment is very good. I can have tea and listen to the gossip between the rich and powerful people in the capital. Are you interested in going to see it?"
"Yes!" She excitedly agreed. Ivelle has been bored to death lately.
She originally thought it would be very far but did not expect that it was just next to the villa area. It is a single-family Western villa afternoon tea restaurant. The environment is really quiet, the style is mainly Western-style coupled with exquisite flower arrangement and tea, the ambiance is really good.
"What do you think? Doesn't it look good? " As soon as they arrived at the front desk, she looked at Ivelle and asked.
Ivelle nodded and felt much better. When she saw Dr. Evie chatting with the waiter, she roughly looked around the environment.
"The line of sight on the second floor is good. Let's go up to the second floor and have a look." She took the number plate, ordered some desserts, and dragged her up to the second floor.
Through the rotating solid wood stairs, they went upstairs. She looked at the number plate to find a location. Ivelle looked around and thought that the environment, architectural style, and interior there was really good.
"Let's go to the first floor. There seems to be no room left." She opened her mouth and pulled Ivelle away.
Ivelle was stupefied. 'There was still room. Why did she say it's full?'
Ivelle's eyes fell on the handsome man and the beauty who sat opposite to the window. She was stupefied for a moment. Jordan didn't go back even after a long time. He was here drinking afternoon tea with Nicole.
"Mrs. Astley, why don't we go down to the next floor?" Dr. Evie spoke awkwardly.
She shook her head in refusal. "No, the second floor has the best view, okay? Let's just go up there!" With that, Ivelle went to the empty seat by the window.
Dr. Parsons followed and sat in front of her. It was tense about the situation and asked instead as she tried to lighten up the mood. "Is there anything else you want to eat?"
"No!" In her position, the positions of Jordan and Nicole can be seen clearly.
From what they are at, it was not very hidden. As long as Jordan looked up slightly, he could see Ivelle. What she doesn't know is what he and Nicole are talking about.
When she saw Nicole's livid face, she looked very bad and knew in an instant that something didn't go well between the two.
Maybe it was because he was so thirsty that Jordan raised his cup to drink water and accidentally looked at her eyes.
He frowned and put down the cup in his hand. He looked in Ivelle's direction and seemed a little surprised.
Ivelle answered him with a smile, which was regarded as a greeting. When the waiter brought the dessert, she no longer looked over where they are and bowed her head to taste the dessert.
"No wonder you recommend this place. Their desserts are really delicious!" Ivelle tasted a few mouthfuls and smiled as she spoke to the doctor.
She smiled and looked unconsciously behind her, obviously a little restless.
Evie also understood what she felt at that moment. After all, Jordan and Ivelle are husband and wife. At this time, it is strange to see that he and the other woman enjoyed the afternoon tea time. Aside from that, the relationship between Jordan and Nicole was already in a clamor in Hempstead.
