###Chapter 210 A Man Who Speaks With Strength – Part 4
After breakfast, Jordan went to Badger's Group with Ivelle. He went to work at nine o'clock. Although they went out early, there was a traffic jam on the road and it was almost nine o'clock when he arrived at the office.
It's a good thing that Ivelle doesn't have to clock in.
In the elevator, because she was in a hurry, she pulled Jordan and they both went inside. It was crowded with a lot of people. Jordan's tall body protected her in his arms, so she wouldn't be squeezed out of shape. He was tall and handsome, and he was also a leading figure in the Financial and Economic headlines in the Capital for half a year. That is why women flocked on his feet.
Many of Badger's white-collar workers recognized him and looked at him from time to time, and some bold ones even opened their mouths to say hello to him.
Ivelle was more embarrassed. Jordan and she were already in an intimate position and he was willing to protect her so it was inevitable that people with great curiosity asked them. "Boss Astley, are you and Director Ivelle in a relationship?"
Jordan, who had always been aloof and rebellious, did not answer him. At best, he would just smile politely but unexpectedly, he answered this question. "We are husband and wife and have been married for several years." Contrary to his usual self, whenever someone pries on his personal matters, he would just remain silent. However, he did otherwise today.
The people in the whole elevator probably didn't expect it, and for a moment everyone looked at them with great surprise and began to gossip.
Ivelle wanted to say something for a moment, but she didn't seem to have anything to say. She just laughed and looked at everyone.
The inquisitiveness was always in human nature. His statement made everyone in the elevator start to ask about her relationship with Jordan and the process of getting married.
Fortunately, when the elevator arrived at the destination of their floor, Ivelle pulled Jordan. She smiled and apologized and dragged Jordan straight to her office.
Ivelle pulled him into her office and I stared at Jordan as she gasped for breath. "As I said last morning, you should not come with me to the company."
He raised his eyebrows. "What's the matter?" What I just said is true."
She was stupefied. "Haven't you always hated being gossiped at?" In Astley's Group, he has his own CEO elevator so he won't open his mouth if he basically encounters employees that like to question him.
"Jordan, you don't have to say anything. Why do you talk so much when you were squeezed in the ordinary elevator with me? Are you going to announce it to the world so I can't be with someone else?"
He smiled and habitually hugged Ivelle in his arms and said. "You are my wife. What others will say is the truth is not gossip. Gossip is not true."
She broke away from his hug and pulled Jordan to the sofa. Ivelle looked at him in the eye and said. "You can't hug me all the time. I'm in the company now. I have to work, okay?"
He laughed. "Am I a kid?"
"Jordan, no! Anyway, you can't interfere with my work, can you?"
He nodded, smiled, and then took a magazine to read. Seeing that he was at peace, Ivelle turned on the computer and carefully read the papers piled on the desk.
She was only responsible for one project, so the workload is not large. Coupled with the participation of Aaron, she was more relaxed.
After reading the document, Ivelle looked up and saw Jordan stared at her as he motionlessly observed her every move.
As soon as she saw him, she was shocked. She couldn't help but curled her lips. "What do you think you're doing?"
He raised his eyebrows. "A woman who works hard is so beautiful!"
Flattered, Ivelle gently smiled and rolled her eyes joking at Jordan that earned a laugh from him. 'This man.' She shook her head.
Time flies and it's almost noon. She was thinking about what they should eat when suddenly, Jordan's cell phone rang. He answered the phone and slightly frowned. Ivelle just watched him from a distance and knew that something was probably wrong. She listened to him conversing with the caller.
'It should be Brad's side of the problem.' She thought.
After hanging up the phone, he came up to her, put his arm around Ivelle, and said. "I may not be able to have lunch with you. There is something wrong with the current project. I have to go there and have a look."
Ivelle nodded. "Well, you should go."
It's really inconvenient for her that he's here because she can't focus on his presence. Aside from that, Ivelle knew that he was extremely busy.
He looked at her in disbelief. "You just want me to go?"
'Uh-huh! Am I that obvious?'
She smiled at him and said. "No, you have to be busy!"
He raised his hand and pinched the tip of her nose. "Remember to eat later. I'll see you tonight."
"Mm-hmm!"
When she looked at his glorious retreating back, Ivelle couldn't help thinking of what Kyle had said before. She couldn't help but run towards him and shouted. "Jordan, pay attention to your safety! Be careful, okay?"
He looked back at her and raised the corners of his lips. "Hmm!"
Not long after Jordan left, unfortunately, she received a call from Nicole.
She seemed to be much more stable, and on the phone, her voice was calm. "Ivelle, shall we meet?"
Ivelle didn't want to see her, so she refused directly. "Nicole, we don't seem to have anything in common to talk about."
She was silent for a moment. "Does Jordan count?"
Ivelle frowned, a little fidgety. "What are you talking about?"
"I'm downstairs. Let's find a place to talk."
"Alright!"
Under the Badger's Group building, Nicole wore a long white skirt. She seemed to have lost a lot of weight after having a miscarriage. Her chin was pointed more and her face was a little haggard.
She leaned against a white Maserati car, raised her eyebrows, and said. "Let's go!"
She nodded and got in the car.
"Even without Jordan, you seem to be doing well." Ivelle didn't mean to be sarcastic when she opened her mouth.
Biden's family is willing to cultivate her. They naturally want the materials and all the good things in life to be hers. They are willing to do dirty just to give her the best.
She raised her eyebrows. "How can I? It has nothing to do with leaving him and it has nothing to do with you"
Ivelle can tell. She doesn't seem to be in a good mood.
At the coffee shop.
Nicole and she looked for a vacant seat. She ordered a cup of bitter coffee and stirred gracefully while Ivelle ordered a glass of milk. To be honest, Ivelle was not interested in coffee. She can't drink it at all.
Looking at her eyes deeply, she can't help but say. "You and your mother are really alike."
They both like bitter coffee so much.
She looked down at the coffee in her hand, seemed to understand what she meant, and stopped her movements. Nicole looked at her and asked. "To what extent do you want to be?"
She was stunned but didn't react. "What?"
She raised her eyebrows and was a little cold. "Caldwell was sentenced to death, Joseph was investigated and my mother was also involved. If this is how you retaliate, a child plus my mother's reputation, isn't that enough?"
"Not enough!" Ivelle slowly spoke as her voice turned flatly. "After all, I didn't do any harm to your child and I didn't want a child's life to haunt me. As for your mother, isn't her reputation safe and sound? She was only investigated. If she had done nothing, she would still be a rich woman and her reputation would still be intact. You should worry if she had done something dirty to climb to where she is today. If she had really done something dirty to achieve all that she has today, it is right that she would have fallen sooner or later, wouldn't she?"
Nicole gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. Her eyes darkened and angry. "If you do this, you will be punished."
I laughed. "What is my retribution? You admire Jordan. Your mother sent me up to frame me and my child. Now that your mother is about to lose her reputation, can this be regarded as my retribution? "
She was so angry that she picked up the coffee on the table and spilled it on me. It wasn't hot, but the liquid was dark and soiled my clothes.
Ivelle didn't cower nor budge. She looked straight at Nicole.
She was in a bad mood and stood up as she also glared at her. "Ivelle, you are just a mother of a dead child. As long as you want to have a child, there will be countless opportunities for you to have children in the future, but what about other innocent people? The life of Caldwell, the future of Joseph, and the future of my mother. She worked so hard for so many years, but you just ruined it. Ivelle, do you think you are good? You are more vicious than every one of us. You have ruined my love, robbed the one I love, and destroyed the life that my brother used to lay the groundwork for me."
