###Chapter 301 Mystery Man – Part 13
"When everyone on the island died, the killer didn't show up." When he said that, I couldn't believe him. I came back a few pages and asked, while in a state of shock, "So the killer faked his death?"
He picked his eyebrow and scratched it with the tip of my pen. "It's not that stupid!"
After trying to think it over, I still didn't know who the killer was. I looked up at him and said, "Now who could it be?"
In the end, the author of No One Survived didn't seem to want to tell the readers who the killer was.
He laughed at my frustration. "Use your head. Who has the most access to resources and information?"
I folded my lips and pushed him away. "Was it the judge?"
He nodded, his eyes were a little dark. I was a little shook by this revelation.
"Jordan, it can't possibly be."
"It's been a long time!"
"It wasn't just last night."
"Still not enough!"
It suddenly occurred to me that the ligation operation seemed to be making him more tired.
"Jordan, you need to rest for at least a month after the operation!" I pushed him away, but he circled his arms around me.
"It's all right. I'm no longer affected by it!"
I frowned and could not help but raise my hand and pushed him. "Are you not determined to know all about what you're feeling? Call Brad and ask him."
Seeing my firm attitude, he sat next to me and dialed Brad's phone number.
After a few rings, he picked up and asked, "What's the matter with you in the middle of the night?"
We were sitting so close that I could hear what he said.
Jordan sank his face and said in a low voice, "Well, what's the impact?"
With this vague sentence, Brad didn't respond. After a short while, he asked, "What do you do in the middle of the night?"
Jordan said coldly, "What do you think you can do in the middle of the night?"
This is usual of Brad.
He's not stupid, so he could naturally identify what he's talking about.
"Can you not help it for a month?"
My eyes were low and my face grew a little hot. I knew I should not be hearing their conversation, but it was too tempting not to.
I didn't think of it at all before, but I only reacted in hindsight.
Jordan saw that my face turned red and said coldly to the phone, "Don't talk nonsense, what are the effects?"
"What are the effects? Why are you acting like you don't know?"
Jordan lied.
He paused and said, "But I don't feel anything!"
"Oh, stop playing around," Brad sneered.
Jordan ran out of patience and said, "It's all right. I'll just hang up."
"You have to go to the hospital for an examination. And do not to say to me that I didn't warn you."
"I got it!"
After hanging up the phone, Jordan put the phone aside. His eyes dark concentrated on me.
I was very overwhelmed.
After trying to avoid his gaze, I looked at him directly and said, "Didn't Brad come with you on this business trip?"
He shook his head. "The company always has to leave someone to guard and oversee it."
I nodded. "I have a question. Did uncle and aunt have a daughter before?" I asked out of the blue.
He frowned and looked at me with heavy eyes. "Who told you this?"
"No, I'm just asking!" To put it bluntly, I didn't want to pry into his past, but I had doubts in my heart, so I couldn't help asking.
He took me in his arms. His black eyes were really dark and deep. "Don't ask me about the past anymore, okay?"
I nodded, got up, and went straight into the bathroom.
Why did never seem to want to talk to me about Brad and his past? He acted like he's indifferent towards him, but deep down he seemed to care a lot.
When he came out of the bathroom, he was on the phone on the balcony, looking a little gloomy. I wasn't sure if it was because of his work.
When he saw me coming out, he confessed a few words, then hung up. He walked up to me and pulled me into his arms.
"I may not be able to go shopping with you later. There is a signing event at the company. Would you like to join me there instead?"
I shook my head. "No, I'll have a good rest here in the hotel instead. I may have to go back to Hempstead tomorrow."
"What's the matter?" He suddenly spoke in a low voice.
"Nothing!" Originally, I came to M country to see him. I went out of a moment's impulse. Now that we have slept with each other, lounged around, and spent time together, naturally, there was nothing left for me to do. It was time to go home and return to reality.
He hugged me and said gently, "Don't run around alone in the future. This time, it can't happen again, you promise?"
I nodded and looked up at him sincerely. "I promise. When will you return home?"
"After signing the contract in the evening, we can go back together."
I nodded and my head felt a little heavy. I didn't know what was wrong. Seeing that my expression was pained, Jordan frowned and asked me, "What's the matter?"
I leaned against the bed, closed my eyes, and said, "I'm a little sleepy. I'll lie on the bed for a while."
Jordan soon became busy as he went to the company to sign the contract. But before he left, he did his best to comfort me.
I lay in bed for a while.
I happened to be a little sleepy when the phone rang, but I was woken up by its ring tone. I picked up the phone with very little energy. It was that woman Jane I met at the airport the other day.
"Hi, Ivelle, I'm Jane. Do you still remember me?"
I nodded and realized that she couldn't see my expression over the phone. I paused and said, "Of course I remember Miss Jane. How could I forget? Hello!"
"Do you have time now? Can I ask you out for dinner just this time? I have no friends in M country, and my fiancé is busy again. I've been alone all day. I'm so bored!"
I looked out of the window. It was dark, and the clock on the wall said that it was eight o'clock in the evening.
If I fell asleep now, it was estimated that it would be impossible to sleep until dawn. I might wake up in the wee hours of the morning.
After thinking about it, I said, "Okay sure. I'm at the Clyde Hotel. How about you?"
As soon as she heard me say yes, she said happily, "I'm at the winery. I'll see you later. I'll call you when I get downstairs to the hotel."
I nodded, said yes. After this brief exchange of words, I hung up the phone, got up, and came out in a hurry, wearing only a casual dress.
I looked flattering in the clothes that I tried on. After thinking about it, I called Jordan.
Jordan answered the phone with a low voice, "Hey, Ivelle!"
Listening to the noise on the other end of the phone, I asked cautiously, "Are you in a meeting?"
He replied, "I'm signing for an appointment. What's wrong?"
I was worried about affecting him on such an important day. I said immediately, "No, just give you a call. You have a meeting first, and I'll call you later!"
As soon as he was about to hang up, he said, "It doesn't matter that I'm in a meeting. I'll listen. It's all right."
I was touched for a moment and said, "Can you find a way to get me a new dress? I have an appointment with a friend later and I want to go out. "
"Sure thing!" He opened his mouth and paused, "But with whom is your appointment?"
