###Chapter 383 Buried Resentment – Part 7
Jordan Astley just stood outside the door. And he was unusually silent.
As for Ivelle Astley, she didn't know how to sum up the nameless resentment she was feeling. Soon, even she was beginning to feel like she was unreasonably making a big deal out of it.
That night, as the weather forecast had said, the snow fell heavily at the capital.
Ivelle sat on the balcony as she watched the snow all night. Soon, her heart began to hurt slowly.
Everyone knew that one shouldn't live in the past. But it was also inevitable for someone that had been hurt to still feel traces of the pain in the deepest corners of the heart.
In the middle of the night, Ivelle fell asleep on the balcony. But suddenly, her phone rang. It was Felix Stewart.
As she looked at the time, she was a little surprised. It was still the wee hours of the morning. Naturally, she wondered why Felix would call her at that time.
She answered the call. But just as she was about to speak, Felix eagerly said in a worried voice, "Ma'am, Boss Jordan is inside the Biden's yard. You--Can you come and persuade him to leave?"
Ivelle froze as she thought, 'What was Jordan doing at Biden's house?
After a pause, she asked Felix, "What's the matter with him?"
Because it seemed inconvenient for him to say, he hesitated for a moment. But after some time, Felix finally told her, "Boss Jordan said he wanted to atone for his sins, so he came to the Biden's house. It was snowing heavily outside. And he had been standing outside for several hours. I'm afraid he won't stand the cold."
Ivelle had a sore nose. She didn't know what to say. For her, there were still some memories that shouldn't be mentioned. Otherwise, a lot of people would be in pain.
Despite the pain in her heart and the numbness she was feeling, Ivelle opened her mouth and replied, "All right. I'll go over there!"
Blossom was still asleep. When she went out of the villa, it was snowing heavily. It seemed that she could not get a taxi, so she had to drive there by herself.
Fortunately, the road was not blocked. But because of the snow, she drove slowly. It took her an hour later before she arrived at the Biden's house.
Inside the vast area of the villa, only the house was brightly lit. And it was only natural that in the early hours of the morning, everyone else was still asleep.
As Ivelle pushed open the gate of the Biden's home, there was no suspense. She saw Jordan who was almost buried by the heavy snowfall.
He was kneeling in front of the Biden's house, and a thick layer of snow had accumulated on his black bespoke coat. He seemed to have been there for a long time.
Unable to see through his back, Ivelle had to be resolute and straight. It would be of no use to become weak because of the heavy snow.
Meanwhile, both Erin and Andrew Biden were standing under the eaves. Both of their faces showed a complicated expression.
Ivelle's appearance seemed to break the initially silent atmosphere. Erin's eyes fell on her. Her gaunt face looked weaker.
Ivelle staggered as her eyes hurt because of the cold. She walked towards Jordan's location in the yard and stood behind him.
He didn't open his mouth. And Ivelle just stood silently with him in the snow.
For a moment, Felix had a relieved expression on his face. Then he quickly regained his composure.
When Jordan heard the noise, he looked back and saw Ivelle behind him. His lips were a little blue and his voice was deep and hoarse as he told her, "Go back to the villa and have a rest."
But Ivelle just pursed her lips and didn't move.
He frowned and looked at Felix. He ordered him, "Send my wife back."
When Felix saw this, he was a little helpless. He came to Ivelle's side, looked at her, and sighed slightly before saying, "Ma'am, go back to the villa to rest. You are still weak. You cannot afford such a struggle."
But instead, Ivelle replied, "Now that I'm here, what's the point of going back like this?"
He was stunned for a moment and began to reproach himself, "Sorry, I had been inconsiderate."
Ivelle didn't speak. Jordan was standing next to her. And there was no need for her to speak again.
Meanwhile, Jordan's face was a little gloomy and vaguely cold.
Andrew's eyes fell on Ivelle. And it showed love and pain that she could not understand. It had been four years since she last saw Andrew and Erin. Suddenly at that moment, the two elegant and reserved couple seemed to be a little old.
Time could really destroy all good things.
Suddenly, Andrew spoke with anger in his voice, "Jordan, is this your way of making amends? Your selfishness had turned the family that could have been happily together into the way that it was today. What are you trying to do now? Bring my daughter here to accompany you in your suffering to force us to forgive your sins?"
Jordan shook his body and looked up at him. But he didn't say a word.
At that point, no matter what he would do, someone would get hurt.
Meanwhile, from inside the villa, Frida Biden went downstairs with a coat in her arms. She frowned slightly, draped the plush coat over Ivelle, and said, "If you want to let go of the pain, someone would get hurt. I have to go now. But Ivelle, you have to remember, what you have to do now is to accept everyone's apology."
Ivelle pursed her lips and her eyes fell on Jordan. She knew that in this matter, all their predicaments started when Jordan switched her DNA with Nicole Blakeley.
All the pain that she was feeling resulted from that particular incident.
Erin looked at Ivelle. There was a choke in her voice as she said, "Daughter, don't torture yourself. We'll bear our fault."
After saying this, she took off her coat, shoes, and socks and walked barefoot into the snow. With the cold north wind, she seemed to be teetering at every step.
Andrew looked at her. His eyes were full of distress, but he did not stop Erin from what she was doing.
As Ivelle looked at all this, she did not expect that it would be like this. And she didn't feel good about what she was witnessing now.
Everyone was punishing themselves, and they all seemed to accept that the so-called punishment was the only way to solve the matter at hand. It, therefore, seemed that Ivelle had to eventually let it go.
Ivelle opened her mouth to speak. She looked at Jordan who was frozen stiff in the snow, smiled, and told him in a calm voice, "What are you doing? You know that I love you and I don't want you to get hurt. So why are you doing this? The wound that I buried in my heart, you can just let it be buried dead. Why do you have to pull up the roots and hurt me like this?"
"You torture yourself like this; now if you look at it from my point of view, what do you think would I do? I persuaded you to get up and was moved to tears when I told you that I had forgiven you. I had forgiven you for changing my life and for accidentally killing our child. I had forgiven you after all these, Jordan. But isn't that enough? Should I be like a holy mother? Should I still bear all the pain?"
The truth was, she would rather choose not to mention any of these things in the past. As long as she would not mention any of it, she could go on and pretend that none of it had happened. She could go through his love and tolerance.
"Jordan, why do you have to force the things of the past on me? Why do you have to tear open the wound I have been trying so hard to conceal?"
His thin lips were blue. He looked at Ivelle and opened his mouth, but he didn't say a word.
Then he bowed his head, smiled mockingly, and uttered a sentence vaguely, "I was inconsiderate."
Ivelle suppressed the pain in her heart. But she could only vaguely suppress the anger she was feeling as she said, "Jordan, what do you want me to do now? What do you want the Biden family to do? I'll tell you leniently that everyone should no longer think about all this. Everyone should just live in peace and splendor in the future as if nothing had happened. Just let all of us do that, okay?"
Yes, it was true that she couldn't let go of the pain and the hurt she was harboring. But she didn't have to hurt herself like this.
The so-called atonement should not be like this.
As she turned her attention to Erin in the snow, she didn't know what to say. She weakly told her, "Do you know what you are doing now? For me, it seemed like you are using this hollow trick to force me to tell you that I don't hate you and I don't blame you. I'm asking you not to hurt yourself. What you have done to me was wrong. But even if you wanted to punish yourself, I did not ask you to do this. Now tell me, what is your purpose for doing this?"
