###Chapter 384 Buried Resentment – Part 8
"In front of this pretense that you are doing, you are trying to tell everyone that if I didn't forgive you and if I still do not let go, that I am narrow-minded, cold, and indifferent as I watch you freeze to death in the snow. You intend to tell everyone that my indifference was ruthless."
Erin was very pale and it looked as if the blood from her lips was drained when she uttered, "Ivelle."
She opened her mouth but she didn't seem to know what to say.
Ivelle tore off her plush coat. She handed it to Frida Biden, opened her mouth faintly, and said, "Thank you."
Frida took it, nodded, and said, "It is getting late. Will you stay here?"
Ivelle shook her head. She then told her, "I have my car with me."
Then she ignored the people in the snow as she went straight out of the Biden's house.
The snow that night was particularly heavy.
She didn't know if Jordan went back to the villa. She closed the bedroom door and stayed awake all night.
For Ivelle, now that they had come to this point, she knew that no matter what they do, it would feel wrong for her.
The capital was dressed in white after a night of heavy snow. But before dawn, the silver light lit up the bedroom through the window.
She couldn't sleep. She looked up at the clock. At five o'clock in the morning, it was time for her to get up.
While still wrapped up in her clothes, she went downstairs. The light in the living room was turned on all night. She could see that Jordan did not come back from last night.
As she would usually do, she went into the kitchen and made breakfast. She waited for Blossom to get up to send her to school.
But she didn't realize that it was still too early for Blossom's school to open yet.
Inside the car, Blossom yawned and leaned against the car window. She squinted and wanted to go back to sleep as she said, "Mom, we're too early. I'm still so sleepy."
Ivelle rubbed her hair and signaled for her to go back to sleep. She felt an indescribable warmth in her heart.
After waiting for nearly half an hour, the school opened the door and she sent Blossom to her class. But then she found that she didn't seem to have anything to do.
After she went back to the villa, she learned about the news regarding Eva Blakeley. She also realized that Jordan still had not come back from last night. She picked up her cell phone to check on the news.
Attracted by the line of headlines that popped up, she couldn't help but click and take a closer look at it. She discovered that Eva bullied her classmates in college and there was recorded a video of it.
In this era wherein there was a rapid transfer of information, it was easy for people to become moral saints. It was easy for them to sympathize with the weak and spit on the abusers.
Rumors about her abounded. And as a senior white-collar worker of the Astley group, she would naturally be fired.
Coincidentally, as soon as Eva's video came out, it distracted some of the journalists who had focused their attention on Ivelle.
Not long after, Frida arrived at the villa. Because it was still snowing, she wrapped herself in a thick down jacket. She entered the villa which was now covered with snow.
She took off her coat and patted the snowflakes as she said, "It looks like the capital is going to close the road."
Ivelle took her coat and hung it on a hanger. She handed her a cup of coffee and asked, "Is there a closed road in the capital?"
Frida warmed her hand by holding the coffee cup, sat down on the sofa, and said with a smile, "Yes. Most often, the road in the capital would be notoriously blocked. Snowing heavily would most likely cause an accident. That is why they have to close the road."
Ivelle nodded and remembered that there was fruit at home. As she was about to get up and get it, Frida held her back. She told her, "Don't distract me with random stuff. Let's talk!"
Almost subconsciously, she was stupefied for a moment. Then she asked her, "Talk about what?"
Because she had always been straightforward, she opened her mouth and said directly, "Jordan and the Biden family!"
Frida continued to say, "What happened four years ago is a thing of the past. I won't persuade you to let it go. You don't have to force yourself to forgive or let go of this kind of thing. I know that you feel more conflicted and miserable than anyone else." What Frida told Ivelle was so direct to the point, but it was also true.
Ivelle listened to her quietly. As she heard what Frida had said, she was neither clenching her hands nor feeling nervous and uncomfortable. Instead, she felt that Frida was too much like Maisie Rogers. And it left her in a deep trance.
After a pause, she continued to speak, "I know that you are in a mess and have no idea what you should do. But Ivelle, people always have to move forward. You can't live in the past all the time. What you have to do is to follow your heart. But you don't have to suppress the memories of the past. Otherwise, you cannot fully heal."
Ivelle nodded. She didn't know that she had been bearing all these in her heart.
Her hand was held by Frida, and her face was calm and serious as she said, "I'm not a lobbyist today. I regard you as a friend and I don't want you to feel bad. So Ivelle, you don't have to reject me."
Ivelle smiled a little bitterly and replied, "Thank you for coming to say this to me at this time."
Frida sighed with helplessness and said to her "In fact, I hated Erin at the beginning. She is the kind of person who buries her ambition in her heart. Then she would do whatever it takes to fight for it, and even give her everything for that ambition. Such a person, although you look at her with no desire, is particularly notable."
Ivelle didn't comment but she agreed with what Frida said. It was true that Erin had a strong purpose in everything that she wanted to do.
Frida continued to say, "It is precise because of this that she strives for what she wants and pursues. Over the years, she had been struggling like an indestructible woman. She had been looking for you for 26 years. I had seen her climb mountains and go to many mountain villages without access to find you, and she had been deceived. You probably didn't know that every time she went to a mountain village, she helped the poor. She was making atonement for her sins."
Ivelle pursed her lips and said in a low voice, "It's not that I haven't seriously considered the things that went wrong for four years."
Frida nodded and said, "Therefore, it is precise because of her deep love and longingness for her daughter, that she was more than willing to give Nicole Blakeley all her love without any hesitation, especially after thinking that she was her long-lost daughter. It was because of fear that what she would give would not be enough that she resulted in hurting you for the sake of Nicole. Looking at it from a mother's point of view, her love is nothing short of great. But from the point of view of others, it seemed that her love was a little extreme and terrible. Ivelle, I am not here to ask you to forgive her or let go. I just want to tell you that this has become a dead end. What you can do now is not to dwell on the past, but to focus as much attention as possible on the road ahead and live your own life without a grudge in your heart."
Ivelle was silent. It was true that she knew better than anyone. From a mother's point of view, what Erin did was to pave the way for her daughter.
Because Nicole liked Jordan, Erin would do whatever it takes so that her supposed daughter, Nicole, could get what she wanted. Unfortunately for Ivelle, it was she who was the obstacle that had to be removed for Nicole to get Jordan.
What went terribly wrong was that when Jordan exchanged her DNA with Nicole, he had swapped her fate with that of Nicole. It also ruined the image of her mother before her very eyes, and it led to the death of her child.
Ivelle should have hated him, but she couldn't. She thought that it was ridiculous for her to easily forgive him, given the fact that he had made her desperate. Moreover, he had not even begged her for conditional forgiveness.
When Frida saw Ivelle fell silent again, she told her, "In fact, I hate Erin very much. She is not the kind of woman who could make the Biden Family stable and prosperous. Although her being ambitious was a good thing, she was too publicized and this would just bring disaster to the Biden Family. Ever since she entered the Biden's house, I hated her very much and tried to get rid of her."
