###Chapter 437 Because You're Starting to Care
###Chapter 437 Because You're Starting to Care
It was only after lying in bed and looking up at the ceiling for a long time that I regained my senses.
I may be really sick. Or maybe, I was just an extremely selfish person.
I got up to take a shower and that was when I only notice that Jordan was not in the hotel.
I finished showering and I was about to go out. I opened the door when I saw Liam at the entrance, who was about to knock. He frowned when he saw my haggard face. "You didn't sleep well last night?" He asked.
I shook my head. "I'm fine. Is there any news about Sunshine?"
He gave a hum and did a gesture, silently asking me if he could go in. I nodded and moved away to made room for him to enter the hotel room.
He still didn't open his mouth even though he was already sitting in the sofa. After a long while, he poured himself a glass of water from the centre table. "Ivelle, are you happy with Jordan?"
I couldn't help but frown at the sudden question. "Liam, I thought you came here to tell me about Sunshine." I said, displeased.
He raised his hand to his mouth and coughed. "Well, I did came to talk to you about Sunshine, but now, it wasn't as important as you. Jordan, Silverman family and Weld family are all looking for her. Shall we talk about your problems first?"
I shifted in my seat across him. I was being scrutinized by him and to be honest, it was a little uncomfortable. "What's wrong with me?"
"Just answer my question."
"Jordan and I have always had a very good relationship." I was very dissatisfied by his attitude right now, but I answered him nonetheless.
Liam's lips thinned into a flat line. "I asked if you were happy. It's not a question of whether your relationship was good or not." He said as matter-of-factly.
His words and tone was a bit irritating to hear and I felt my frown deepened. "Then, can you describe to me what happiness is like, Liam?"
Life was a collection of trifle stories. And since my life was a story, how could I not experience joy without sorrow? What is the definition of happiness? Happiness, there was no such a thing without sadness.
Liam sat up straight. "Ivelle, do you think you know about happiness more than I do? Don't change the topic. You don't want to answer me because you're starting to care about this relationship. But despite that, you still harbour deep hatred and resentment towards Jordan, isn't that right?"
I was silent for a while as I stared at the glass in front of me. "So, what do you want to say?"
"Either you will leave him completely, or you will go to the hospital and receive psychotherapy. Then after that, start all over again with him. Right now, you don't know what you're doing with him."
Psychotherapy, huh? I guessed it made sense. After all, I didn't even know what was really wrong with me right now. All I know was that I was not fine.
It wasn't surprising, really, that I turned out like this. I buried years of accumulated wounds. I wanted to make it look like there was nothing wrong with me. But what the longer and deeper I buried these wounds, the more rotten they got.
After a moment of silence, I nodded. "I'll go to the hospital, but not now."
He nodded as well as a sign that he accepted my answer.
After a while, I shook my head lightly. "Liam, now is not the time for a heart-to-heart talk."
Liam nodded. "Well, I know you are worried about Sunshine so I won't beat around the bush anymore."
"Okay."
"Ivelle, will you listen to me first?" He put down his water cup and looked at me straight in the eye. "Listen to me first, but you have to stay calm, okay?"
"So, you found Sunshine? Really?" I asked tentatively.
He nodded, but the expression on his face was not good.
It dawned on me that something might have happened to Sunshine. Still, I forced myself to calm down. "Is there something wrong with Sunshine?"
He examined my face worriedly. "Ivelle, I told you to stay calm."
"How could I stay calm?!" I shouted in anger. "She's my child. I raised her. Stop telling me to stay calm and just tell me what happened to her!" I demanded. I hissed when Liam made no move to answer me. "Liam, is it interesting to watch me agitated?"
He sighed in resignation. "Ivelle, you will frighten Sunshine if she sees you being like this."
"Stop talking nonsense and just tell me what happened to her." Anxious, I stood up from the sofa and started pacing back and forth.
Liam stared at me, contemplating. "Sunshine was taken by Eva. Currently, we are still looking for Eva."
I snapped my head back to him. "So that means, you haven't found Sunshine yet?"
He nodded solemnly. "Not yet. But we have a lead now, at least. It's much better than looking for a needle in a haystack."
"You're right." I replied absentmindedly. I had no reason to talk to him anymore so I picked up my phone and dialed Frida's number.
The phone rang for a while before the call finally connected. "Ivelle, how's it going?"
"Sunshine wasn't found yet. Frida, can you check the recent whereabouts of Eva in Medford?"
There was a gasp of surprise from the other line. "Is she the one who took Sunshine?"
"That's right."
"I see. Don't worry, I'll work on it!"
I hung up the phone shortly after that and took my bag. Liam stared at me. "Are you going out?"
I stopped to look at him incredulously. "Isn't it obvious?"
He raised his hand and touched his nose. "No, I mean, if you're going to look aimlessly, you might as well just wait here."
"Am I searching aimlessly?" I asked rhetorically.
He probably thought that I was being too hostile now and didn't want to say anything more. He raised his hand in surrender. Then, I left the hotel room.
When I got out of the hotel, Frida called and sent me the whereabouts of Eva in Medford. Since I was not familiar with Spain, I had no choice but to take a taxi.
I already searched several places when Brad called. He wanted me to go to the suburbs I went to yesterday. So I took a taxi again.
It began to rain again in Medford.
It was drizzling when the driver parked the car to the side road, but I didn't see anyone there.
"Miss, are you sure your friend asked you to come here? It's so desolate here. You'd better call your friend to confirm it." The driver kindly reminded me.
I looked around and really didn't see anyone. My eyes fell on the abandoned factory, then I turned to the driver. "Just a moment, I'll make a phone call."
I took out my cell phone and called Brad.
"Ivelle, have you arrived yet?"
"I'm here, Brad. What do you want me to do?"
"I've found Sunshine. Come here."
"Then why haven't you taken her home?"
The person on other end of the phone went silent.
"Ivelle, you can choose not to come." The words sounded threatening and I didn't like that.
I frowned at his answer. "Brad, what on earth are you doing? Sunshine is your daughter!"
