###Chapter 582 Sudden Disaster - Part 1
###Chapter 582 Sudden Disaster - Part 1
I asked slightly, "Am I her adopted orphan?"
He nodded and looked at me and Jordan in silence for a moment. Then he said, "No wonder your Father Astley betrothed you to the boy Jordan."
"Grandpa, just say what you have to say, and don't mind other things like this." Grace Cross was impatient and urged Grandpa Dominic Cross to open his mouth for a moment.
After a pause, Grandpa Dominic said, "I don't know much about this Cynthia girl. I know her because Father Astley was there. I only knew that she was from the capital later on because of some things. I went to live in Primrose alone. I don't know much about the rest."
"Does my grandmother have any relatives?" In all these years, grandma never mentioned this to me.
Grandpa Dominic thought so. "Yes, there must be. She was from the capital. Her relatives should all be there. After so many years, I am afraid that her relatives have already left."
I won't ask any more questions. Grandpa Dominic may not know much. Even though she had to ask more, she chose not to ask anything anymore.
Besides, these things were in the past. Grandma never told me about this. Maybe she really did not want others to know.
The night in Cape Oaks Village was not noisy. Autumn in September was not cold, but the coolness was coming down.
Grandpa Dominic was not in good health, so he had to go to bed early and get up early. So the sitter had helped him to go upstairs.
Grace hugged my hand and looked at Jordan and said, "Boss Astley, we have a deal today. Ivelle has to sleep with me at night. You cannot interfere."
Jordan Astley closed his eyes slightly and when he opened it he looked at me. He did not open his mouth, but the meaning was very clear.
As I held my forehead, I couldn't help looking at Grace and said, "Well, it's getting late all over the world, so you'd better have an early rest too."
Then I got up, and the babysitter tidied up the room and led us to the second floor.
Grace said, "Ivelle, you value lovers over friends? You should give time and not forget your sisters. You and your man can be together all the time. Why can't you stay with me for a while?"
Looking at her pathetic appearance, I couldn't help looking at Jordan. I was moved with compassion and felt that Grace was right.
She opened her mouth and said, "Jordan..."
"I can't sleep alone outside!" Jordan abruptly said without waiting for me to finish speaking.
Looking at Grace, "now you call Mu Shen, it's not too late!"
Grace ran down and glared at him. "Jordan, why are you so stingy? Can you give way just for one night? I won't eat your woman."
"I can't live without her!" Jordan spoke shamelessly.
Grace, speechless, turned her back and walked to her room. I looked at Jordan and could not help saying, "Jordan, she may need to talk with me alone."
she may be a person who usually looked careless and naughty, but her heart may be very lonely.
Jordan nodded, kissed my face, and said, "Go ahead but don't talk too late. Go to bed early and get up early!"
I nodded and smiled slightly at the corners of my mouth. "Jordan, you are so kind."
"Mrs. Astley is even better!" He smiled and motioned me to Grace's room.
Grace's room door was unlocked and I opened it with a gentle push.
The layout of the room was princess powder and very adorable. Grace laid on the pink princess bed squinted and rested.
Hearing the noise, she thought it was a babysitter and said, "Auntie, go and see what you need to do next door and take care of it."
I stood by the bed and smiled. "So, is are you going to drive me away?"
Grace suddenly straightened up from the bed, looked at me, and was surprised. "You are Jordan Astley's family. Did he unexpectedly let you go?"
I smiled and sat next to her. "It's been a long time since I had been here. I'd rather be with you."
She jumped up excitedly and said, "Ivelle, you are so kind. I knew you were the best in the world!"
I raised my hand and flicked her hair, and I said, "It took you that long to realize that? Now take a bath and go to bed early."
"Let's wash together!" She squinted and opened her mouth voluptuously.
I laughed and pushed her into the bathroom.
Lying in bed after the shower, she hugged me and stared at the ceiling in a daze.
I knew she had something on her mind, so I could not help saying, "Are you thinking about William Preston?"
She rolled her eyes at me and said, "Of course not! He's not all in my head."
"Then what is it?" I asked.
She paused and sighed, "How come you never seem to wonder why I was taken to Venezuela?"
I was slightly stunned. It was true that although the Cross family was not very rich and in City A, the old man had some fame. His granddaughter was naturally well-protected. How could Grace be taken to Venezuela and almost died?
"Actually, I don't know how my parents went. Grandpa said they died in a car accident. I was only two months old at that time. If it hadn't been for me, Grandpa would have gone with my parents." Grace said, but could not hear any emotion.
I'm not very comforting, but I can listen quietly.
She leaned against me and said, "My grandfather and I depended on each other. The Cross family was not short of money. My father left a lot of money in the mine before, and my grandfather knows how to invest, so I never run out of money. My grandfather loves me very much, but I just wanted to be like everyone else, have a mom and dad."
She looked at me and said, "Ivelle, I know you can understand this feeling."
I nodded. When I was in Primrose, I envied Maisie very much. Her parents were very kind to her. I had always thought about what it would be like if I found my biological parents one day. But later I found out that it did not seem to be as good as I imagined.
After a moment of silence, she continued, "I told you before that I don't have many friends. I had known a lot of people since I was a child, but they either want me to buy things for them or use me. Even though I knew that I still make friends with them because I'm really afraid of being alone."
Girls seem to be afraid of being alone.
I looked at her and I did not know what to say. So I hugged her and said, "Everything will be all right."
"Before I went to Denmark, I met a girl. We hit it off and she was very kind to me. At that time, I regarded her as my best friend. But I did not think she would trick me. It was also a blessing in disguise because I met you."
She said aimlessly, "Ivelle, did you know? When you gave me the bracelet just now, I was really touched. It was the first time in my life that I received a gift. It was the most sincere gift. I've been wondering if this is the good luck I've accumulated over the past 20 years or so."
