Doctor Kedeva
Doctor Kedeva
I waited until everyone was dead asleep in the mansion for me to go out. Donned in a black facemask, black jeans, and a black hoodie, I sneaked out of the house to the garage, where I hopped into my car and zoomed off.
Where I met with Alpha Benna was an excluded place. We could always go anywhere we wanted, but to avoid people asking why I was associating with him despite the world knowing that he was enemies with Alpha Maseno, we decided on that place.
It was a small restaurant that Alpha Benna bought for us. Not just him and me but other spies as well. He had spies planted in every single pack in the world and kingdom.
I arrived earlier than him, something I liked doing to avoid getting lashed at and to make myself comfortable. There were two waitresses and two waiters who were always there to serve us.
I signaled for a bottle of water, which I drowned down into my throat in just a second. I trembled like coconut leaves in an angry storm when a violent tremor ran through my body, even though I hadn't cried.
I looked around, scowling at the two waitresses who kept on looking at me while darting their toungies toward me. I thought that was supposed to look sexy, but in my eyes, they looked like ghekos who were posing and were panting around looking for water.
After realizing that I wasn't falling into their seductive tricks, I watched as they walked behind the counter with angry pouts on their lips.
An hour passed, but there was still no sign of Alpha Benna. Losing it, I ordered a plate of chicken, which I devoured not because I was hungry but because I didn't want to get bored.
Thirty minutes later, I was done, but still no Alpha Benna. I took out my phone and watched the surveillance camera I had secretly installed inside Kiara's room. She was dead asleep, sparowling on her bed like a six-year-old.
I zoomed in to see her face. She looked really innocent when she was deep in sleep. Her cherry-pink lips were slightly parted to aid her in breathing in and out.
The quilt had fallen on the other side of the bed, exposing her not-long, not-short, milky-white, slender legs. In just one week after arriving in Alpha Maseno's kingdom, she had completely recovered.
Her cheeks were no longer sunken, and her hair was no longer broken and limp over her skull because it was now full and always styled in wavy curls. Her cheeks had grown chubby, and her eyes sparkled.
She groaned and turned to face the other side, causing the quilt to completely slip away. I pressed the lower-side button on my phone and locked it after I saw that she was stacking naked.
"Who in the hell sleeps without clothes on? I asked myself while shaking my head.
even thought of getting rid of the camera because, so far, she didn't look suspicious. "Could it be she was saying the truth when she told me that she doesn't want anything to do with Alpha Benna? I thought inwardly while chewing on my nails.
I couldn't put my head down, though. I had to spy on her in case she was keeping it cool first. Another thought came into my mind, causing me to unconsciously run my fingers through my hair.
Kiara knew that I was Alpha Benna's spy. Even before she escaped and got rescued by Alpha Maseno, she had seen me in Benna's house not just once but many times. But then, why was it that she hadn't told anyone anything?
I was really scared when, a week ago, Alpha Maseno sent a jet for me, asking that I fly to the desert as soon as I could because there was someone there I needed to take care of.
I thought he had caught a bandit who was injured, and he wanted him to heal before interrogating him. I was shocked when I saw it was Kiara, but I played it cool by not telling anyone that I knew her.
When she completely recovered and told us that she had lost her memories, I sighed in relief, knowing my secret was safe. I really don't know what propelled me into installing the camera in her room, but what I do know is that if I hadn't done that, I wouldn't have known that she was lying and that she was still aware of her past.
When I caught her flushing the medication I always gave her, I thought my secret would no longer be safe, and that was why I confronted her.
"Maybe she is thinking just like us. My wolf said in the back of my head,
I knitted my brows in confusion, even though I knew he couldn't see it but just felt that "she's thinking just like us? What's that supposed to mean? I asked my wolf.
After a short while of humming and sighing, he responded, "She also knows that in the process of exposing herself, she'll also expose herself. I mean, you wouldn't want us to die alone, so if she tells everyone the truth about us, you'll tell everyone the truth about her too. I felt him shruggling.
"True." I nodded, understanding the truth in my wolf's words. And it wasn't a lie. If, by any chance, she tries to expose me, I'll expose her as well. There is no way I would want to drown alone.
I unlocked my phone and sighed after I saw the time. Another half hour has passed. I looked around and signaled for one of the waiters to come to me. "Can I have a bowl of boiled chicken soup, please? I asked, and he nodded.
Five minutes later, he came with it. It was hot, just like I liked it. I dipped a spoon in it and swirled it for a while; my eyes stuck on the entrance. The street was bright with night lights and deserted, with no sign of an approaching car.
I lowered my gaze and decided to drink the soup. After I was done, I decided it was enough. I walked to the counter, paid, and walked to the exit.
''See who is leaving without waiting for me.'' A deep, familiar voice called from the entrance. I clicked in anger and stormed back to the table.
"Just because you are my boss and you hold so many of my secrets, it doesn't mean you will get to use my time the way you want. What would you have felt if I were doing this to you? I asked, feeling anger boiling in me.
"Come one, Kedeva. You know that...''
I raised my hand to cut him off. "Why did you want to meet me? I went directly to the question, not wanting to hear his excuses. Before he could respond, a tall man with a dark aura sorrouding him walked into the restaurant.
I froze and stood on my feet by scraping the chair backwards. I watched as the approaching figure winced because of the sound caused by the chair and lifted his head to look at me.
''What is he doing here? I asked the smirking Alpha Benna. "You set me up, didn't you?'' My teeth gritted in anger.
