Chapter 38

After a beautiful chill night with Edde it was finally the day we have been preparing towards, his birthday.

I woke up but didn't find Edde on the bed. I checked the time and indeed I woke up quite late. Edde's massage last night must have relaxed my bones greatly.

I sat up on the bed and rested my back on the head board as I grabbed my phone. Melanie must have arrived with Luca so I need to speak to her… Just in-between my thoughts I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" I said calmly, hopefully whosoever is knocking would hear me, the door slowly opened as a waiter walked in with a tray of food.

"Good morning ma'am" he greeted with a wide smile as I nodded.

"What's that?" I asked, pointing at the covered foods.

"Master Edde told us to get you fruit salad, desserts and Bacon's, we also made you fruit juice" he said as I smiled.

"You may leave" I said as my eyes fixed on the plates, I couldn't wait to eat! Edde really ordered it right.

I noticed the presence of the waiter as I looked up with a slight frown. "I said you can leave now" I repeated.

"I have to wait for you to finish eating ma'am" he said bowing slightly as I rolled my eyes.

"I just woke up now, I haven't brushed or done anything so I can't eat now" I explained as he bowed and left.

I dialed Mel's line and after a few rings she picked up…

"Hey Etta, how are you doing!? I tried calling you all through the night but you didn't pick up" Melanie said as I sighed.

"Yeah, I was just too weak so I slept early"

"or you were getting all lovey dovey with Edde Loxley?" She said letting out a titter as I scoffed.

"I did nothing with Edde, he was equally tired… How are you doing? Hope the workers are attending to your needs?"

"definitely, this place is way bigger than I imagined! So luxurious and beautiful" Mel squealed loudly as I smiled.

"Exactly my reaction when I first visited the house, I was So scared of the hologram tile".

"Who wouldn't be" she said as we both laughed out loud "When will you be back?"

"Before the party starts I will be back, Mel I gotta go" I said.

"Kk" she said as I hung up.

I took a deep breath as I walked lazily to the bathroom. If only I wouldn't smell if I didn't take my bath and brush my teeth I would have gone back to bed like this.

"Where the heck is my baby daddy"

"Hi love" I heard that cold husky voice as I turned to the bathroom entrance to see Edde resting on the walls of the bathroom entrance, he looked hot as usual on the biker shorts and towel wrapped around his neck.

The sweat dripping down his muscular chest made me know that he was coming from the gym. I blinked my eyes, getting rid of my lustful thoughts as I turned to the wall mirror.

"Didn't notice you entering" I said plainly as he used the towel to wipe off the sweat on his body.

"I don't need to announce myself" he said as he pulled down his shorts, I was too used to seeing him naked that his nakedness doesn't freak me or make me scared again.

"Why did you go out looking like a man slut? The least you could do was put on a shirt or something to cover your chest" I said turning to him.

"Someone is jealous"

"Cut that crap, you wish" I scoffed, I was indeed jealous but you don't expect me to admit that.

Knowing how lost I was looking at Edde I could bet that these desperate bitches would do worse and Edde would definitely flirt back!… Thinking of that alone makes me burn.

"Come join me in shower" Edde said as I pursed my lips.

"Thanks for the offer Mr" I said and put my toothbrush in my mouth.

I stood by the mirror as I wore the silver jewelries Edde bought that matched with my outfit, I stared closely at my reflection as I let out a slight smile as the looks of Edde on his expensive Armani suit kept flashing through my brain giving me more reasons to love the hot playboy that put me in the family way.

The slight knock on the door interrupted my fantasy thought of Edde as I walked over to the door wondering who the visitor was, I opened the door to see two slim blonde guys and once they saw me they made a little courtesy with a beautiful smile on their lips.

"Good day Mrs Loxley we have been instructed by Mr Loxley to come change your looks" they said as I raised my brows awed by the manner they addressed me.

I stood watching them with my arms folded around my chest as I contemplated if I should accept the offer or not. I ain't the type to focus on my looks and get my ass flat by sitting for a long time.

But knowing that rejecting the offer is me disrespecting Edde and that would make us fight on his birthday, I wouldn't want that. "Please come in," I said, opening the door wide.

I stared at the mirror with a wide smile curved on my lips, an hour for my make-up and hairdo was quite worth the patience.

The silver hairpins used to style my hair was a real silver and it sparkled at every second, I couldn't stop admiring myself and wishing that Edde would compliment my fits… I turned to the guys and nodded slightly at them. "You did well,'' I said, letting out a satisfying smile as they bowed proudly and left the room.

Not still getting enough of my looks I smiled at my reflection with my hand placed on my huge bump.

"You look exquisite Betta," The one very cold British accent sang Melody to my ears as I smiled and turned swiftly to him, this time he didn't have a cold look. He gave me a genuine compliment for sure.

"You don't look bad too," I said, taking a few steps forward.

"More like, I look classic and hot and you can't get enough of lusting over me" he said with a cold smirk as I rolled my eyes heavenward, such confidence to read my mind so perfectly ugh! "Shall we" he said, giving me his arm as I crossed my arms in his.

The Classic drive back home where Edde's birthday party was taking place turned out fun, it was an exotic ride in a Lamborghini truck and this time Edde let his driver drive us while we sat at the back together.

Nothing happened between us but his energy vibe to Kanye West's old album playing on the stereo system was enough, I never saw him in such a mood before and I bet all this energy wasn't because today is his birthday he isn't a kid… There is definitely something behind his happy mood.

Soon we got into the compound as the driver helped us with the door. We walked hand in hand together on the red carpet that was created on the floor as camera flashes almost got me blinded.

I felt like a new bride walking on the aisle and getting all the attention in the world. The guards made sure that paparazzi were far from us and that alone was a big relief.

Just as we were about entering the mansion. "Etta!" I heard that familiar voice scream my name and before I could turn her hands wrapped around me in a rough hug that I nearly fell.

"Oh my goodness, Etta I'm sorry I totally forgot that you have a big…. Wait,what!" She yelled in a whisper looking at my bump. "It's so big now! I can tell that you're almost due" She said as I smiled, I still felt slight pain in my belly due to the way Melanie hugged me but the Euphoria of seeing her couldn't let me feel the pain but look into my bestie's eyes.

We stayed years together and now I can't believe that we are distanced.

"I miss you so much Mel" I said almost in a whisper as she smiled.

"I miss you Etta"

"Hey, you both don't want the paparazzi thinking I kidnapped Elizabeth so let's just go in and you can continue with the lovey dovey thingy" Edde said as he pulled me in with him as Melanie chuckled walking behind us.

The Loud music playing hit my ears upon entering the sitting room which was dim. Once our presence was noticed everyone parted from the dance floor making a walkway for us giving the vibe of a couple walking on the blessed aisle.

That feeling again…

Suddenly they started cheering for us, I was forced to smile because I have never felt so important before.

The Audience sang the birthday song as Edde walked to the stage where his very elegant beautiful cake sat. He had a very beautiful genuine smile curved on his lips that I couldn't help but droll.

"Make a courtesy and a wish before cutting the cake" the master of ceremony said as Edde cleared his throat and his eyes travelled to my direction with an unfathomable expression.

What's he gonna say!…

"Shout out to my Wife Elizabeth Albie Loxley, she is the only reason my birthday is being celebrated, you all know that I have never fancied birthdays. I also want to wish her a very safe delivery" He said as everyone cheered and clapped.

I was speechless, now I see where the happy mode was coming from… He broke his record of not celebrating birthdays because of me?

I was feeling the butterfly thingy in my belly when a soft hand which I knew belonged to Melanie touched me.

"He loves you" Her voice sang softly to my ears.

Maybe he doesn't love me, he just appreciates me for having his baby. I mean, it's Edde and he doesn't do love.

Edde's hand gestured for me to come over as I gulped hard nervously, my butt felt sweaty.

"You don't want to keep him waiting" Melanie said softly to my ears and pushed me slightly.

She's a devil!

I controlled my wobbly legs as I stood in front of him staring at his chest and trying hard to avoid his piercing look.

He slowly raised my face as I looked into his black shiny eyes. His eyes alone felt like guns to my feelings. It could make me submit myself to him with just a stare.

"Is this the point where we kiss"

I didn't dare say that!

Before I could realize what I said his soft berry lips married mine.
