Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Deep in the forest, walking with big strides and a scowl on her face was a girl of 18, with white hair and pink eyes.
If anyone saw her, they’d recognize her as Sena the Saintess of the Holy Church who supposedly went missing over a month ago.
In reality she just ran away from the church to enroll in Sword Fein Academy almost halfway across the country.
Right now, Sena was in a bad mood.
After spending the last 4 weeks hold up in her dorm room in the Academy reading novels, eating food drinking wine and skipping almost every class she finally ran out of money.
Her stingy roommate refused to lend her some, claiming she never pays it back and telling her to go touch grass, so now she has to go to a dungeon outside of the academy to hopefully find some chests full of gold, because none of the dungeons on the academy campus have money in them, they only have swords and monsters.
(Stingy ass school)
But what can she expect from a school run by people who love swords more than their own mothers?
And so, Sena found herself approaching The Dungeon of Dragons, one of the most dangerous dungeons in the empire.
Dragons and wiverns are the only monsters inside this dungeon, dragons are the creatures most obsessed with gold so a dungeon with only dragons in it must be full of gold.
That was the thought process behind why Sena chose this dungeon instead of the far easier ones, that and the fact that it was the closest dungeon to the Academy and Sena wanted to go back inside as soon as possible.
Right as Sena was just a few feet away from the dungeon’s entrance daydreaming about how much gold she’ll find inside and what kind of wine she’ll buy with it, the world suddenly turned black and white for a split second.
“Huh?”
Then the dungeon was cleanly sliced in half all the way through from bottom to top.
“Wha??”
In the next half a second the dungeon completely disintegrated.
“……………………….. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK!? WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE GOLD!?”
As Sena was lamenting the loss of the gold she never even got to lay eyes on, completely ignoring the fact that a dungeon, a literal pocket dimension got slashed out of existence, she noticed a figure standing in the centre of where the dungeon used to be.
Upon closer inspection the figure turned out to be a girl with red hair, gold tips and blue eyes around Sena’s age wearing a dark long coat, pants, red shirt and shoes which all seem to be made of dragon scales and skin.
She was also wearing what looked like a storage ring on her left middle finger and holding a black sword in her right hand.
“Where you the one who destroyed the dungeon?”
After hearing Sena’s voice, the girl turned in her direction. It was only then that Sena fully saw the girl’s face.
“Cute.’
Hearing Sena’s murmur, the girl looked at her reflection in the sword, then her face contorted in an expression that looked as if she was about to cry, but no tears fell.
Sena ignored the girl’s expression.
“Anyways, if you were the one who destroyed the dungeon you must have taken some of the gold before you did, so hand it over!”
“Why should I?”
(Damn even her voice sounds good……………)
Sena shook her head to clear away the distracting thoughts.
“After today I don’t plan on leaving my room for at least another month, so I’ma need some gold to stock up on supplies.”
“I missed the part where that’s my problem.”
“It’s about to be if you don’t hand over the gold!”
After saying that, Sena raised her hand, created a sword made of white light and pointed it at the red-haired girl.
The red-haired girl’s lips curved up slightly.
“Bring it.”
Sena threw the sword at the girl who tilted her head avoiding the sword completely.
The girl looked at Sena like she was looking at an idiot, but then off in the distance where the sword probably landed, a large explosion occurred expanding all the way back to where the red-haired girl was standing so she jumped out of the way landing a few feet behind Sena.
Sena turned around and saw the girl looking at her as if seeing something interesting.
She immediately made two dozen more light swords levitating them beside and above her, pointing them all at the girl.
“Either one of these swords hit you or the mana from one of them will. Then I’ll take that storage ring off your corpse along with those expensive looking clothes of yours. Still not too late to hand over the gold now you know.”
The girl charged at Sena appearing before her almost instantly, swinging her sword at Sena’s neck, but two of her light swords blocked the strike, another light sword above Sena’s head pointed at the girl and shot a beam at her with as much force as the previous explosion.
Before the beam even reached CMs from the girl’s face, she had already moved out of the way, appearing behind Sena and swinging her sword at the back of her head, but once again two of the light swords moved in to blocked the girl’s sword but this time the girl’s sword cut through the light swords like they were butter.
With those two light swords out of the way the girl’s sword slammed into the back of Sena’s head, but instead of the expected sound of flesh tearing there was a sound of glass breaking.
It was the sound of Sena’s light barrier breaking.
The same barrier that she constantly had around herself ever since she was born, the barrier that made her unfamiliar with the meaning of the words fear and pain, because it protected her from everything, from every kind of magic, every kind of poison, every kind of weapon or curse, And now for the first time in 18 years, it broke.
After hearing that breaking sound, the girl pulled back her sword and waited to see what Sena would do next, but after waiting for five seconds then ten, Sena did nothing, she just stood there in the same spot completely silent and unmoving.
The girl went before Sena to see what expression she was making.
Sena’s eyes were completely rolled to the back of her head; she was passed out standing.
“Are you for real?”
===
Is she really passed out?
What should I even do with her?
Maybe I should just leave her here, she was trying to rob me after all.
According to the memories of this body, this girl is apparently this generation’s saintess who goes around healing commoners and nobles alike with a warm smile on her face.
…………………..
I looked back at the girl who just tried to rob and murder me and tried to equate her with the kind-hearted girl from this body’s memories.
………….. As expected, I was right from the start, these memories aren’t real, which means this must be a dream after all……………………………………. Yeah right, no dream lasts for four weeks.
Well, it’s not like the original owner of this body ever actually met this saintess in person, she only saw her from afar and heard rumours about her good deeds.
Anyways let’s just leave her at the nearest town.
I picked her up, slung her over my shoulder then started running towards the direction of those walls far of in the distance that look exactly like the walls surrounding the city in every isekai.
I arrived at the wall in seconds then headed for the entrance where two guards where standing.
They glanced at my shoulder, and after seeing who I was carrying, they let me in, no questions asked.
I thought these places usually have you pay a toll to enter.
Whatever.
Now where should I leave this girl?
After walking around for a few minutes thinking about where to leave her, I couldn’t help but notice the big red and black building that seems to be 1/6th of this city’s total size with a big golden sign at the top that read “Sword Fein Academy”.
According to the memories, Sword Fein Academy is a place run by sword obsessed lunatics.
They’ll enrolled anyone between 15 and 30 regardless of background or status for 5 years
The only enrolment qualifications needed are:
1. Be able to swing a sword.
2. There is no 2.
The Academy is also known for never expelling students or letting them withdraw no matter the reason, because of that, a lot of nobles who ran away from home for various reasons like avoiding engagements or inheritance issues all end up enrolling in the Academy to avoid their families.
People with talent get free enrolment and boarding along with one meal a day.
People without talent have to pay the full 5-year boarding fee up front.
I have more than enough gold to pay for the full 5 years considering I took every single valuable thing from that dungeon before I destroyed it, but if I can get something for free, then there’s obviously no need to pay for it.
Before I knew it, I already decided to enrol in this Academy.
Not like I have anywhere else to go.
I could go back to this body’s family, but the idea of pretending to be her sounds mentally damaging.
Not to mention her last memory was of her sibling pushing her off a cliff inside that dungeon.
Yeah, no way in hell I’d go back to such a family.
Sword Fein Academy here I come!
