Valan and I picked out some nice looking steaks, but then froze with what the make with them. So now we will just cut the steak into strips and make a pasta out of it.
We have since got back to my house and just as the last item is in the pantry for the event Friday, the doorbell goes off.
"That still sounds so foreign in my own house. No one ever using it other than delivery people." I laugh.
"You have told Laken how many times to use the back door?" Valan laughs.
"Exactly, everything single time he has came over." I laugh with her and we walk to the front door.
Valan stands to the side and I open the door. There stands Laken and Aiden both. Aiden looks just as much of eye candy as he did at his event.
"Thanks for having us over Kelsie." Laken steps inside and kisses Valan the next second.
I drop my eyes before looking to Aiden.
"Come on in." I smile.
Aiden steps in and smirks at his friends.
"I brought this for you." Aiden holds a small bag up.
"Thank you." I take the bag.
"It is a red wine, that hopefully you will enjoy the taste of." He nods.
"I am not picky when it comes to alcohol I drink, only picky on it when it comes to cooking with it." I let a soft laugh out.
"Well, this will go magnificent with dinner. Just make yourself comfortable and I will get started on the food. The tv has a couple of different apps for anything you guys feel like watching." I smile and walk to the kitchen.
Wow! That probably sounded lame of me. Help yourself to the tv. Really Kels?
I hear when feet follow me and a moment later, arms wrap around me.
"Stop pep talking yourself. You're doing great. Just relax Kels." Valan whispers.
I look over my shoulder and smile. "Thanks." I whisper.
She nods once and lets go of my waist. I place the bag Aiden gave me on the counter.
"So is it good with you ladies if we sat here and watched you cook?" Laken strides over with Aiden, as they stand by the stools at the bar looking over the entire kitchen.
"Don't mind at all." I smile even though I want to smirk as Valans words come back to Aiden wants to see where the food is made.
"So if either of you need the bathroom, is the door on the left of living room." I point.
"It is a nice place you have here." Aiden looks around.
"Thanks. I never needed much room, and mainly just cared about the size of the kitchen." I laugh lightly.
I wash my hands right after Valan. She pulls out the cutting boards and gets to work on the vegetables, while I get in the fridge for the meat.
"So you both met in culinary school, from what Valan has said." Aiden's voice is deep as he speaks.
"Yes, we just sorta clicked right off the bat." I smile and look up at him.
"What got you into cooking?" He looks at me curious.
I shrug. "What got you into womens fashion?" I smirk and look at him.
Aiden must not be used to the sass or questions one, with his shocked face.
"I have always had a love for cooking. Both of my parents were workaholics and honestly it was my dad that cooks because my poor mom can't at all." I laugh some. "As I got older, I just got to reading over recipes and my parents said to try if I wanted too. So it just took off from there, I had played around and found better things to do when it comes to flavors than what I had read."
"Sounds fanscinating. You seem at ease being in here, the kitchen area." Aiden watches me closely.
I look back up to him from cutting the steak. "Observant. So are you good to have the main course first or shall I make sure dessert is ready?" I give a wide smile.
Laken laughs, but covers with a cough right after.
Aiden smirks and shakes his head.
"She will keep you on your toes with sass. Just wait until she is completely relaxed." Valan chirps from the side.
I look over to her and she just gives me her award winning smiles.
"Can't wait." Aiden smiles.
"What is for dessert?" Laken looks over to me.
"I made up apple tarts early this morning, before Valan got here. Just needed to do something and use the apples, which now is a good thing." I go back to the meat.
Adding on seasonings to rub them in before adding them to the heated pan.
Valan has moved onto working on the noodles to get them going in the boiling water. With the meat cooking, I wash my hands again and I know I have enough time to grab the plates before the meat needs to be moved again.
Together Valan and I get in our rhythm and do what we do best together. Sometimes, it does feel odd when it is just her and I in the kitchen without Naida. She is just as important to me in this kitchen, but it is great because if one of them are not here we make up for it with ease still.
I pull out the rolls from the oven and set them on the cooling rack, as Valan places the noodles in the cooling water to set.
In just a short time Valan and I, have all the food done and look around.
Laken and Aiden step up and wash their hands. I had completely forgot them sitting at the bar! I am such a bad hostess.
"I am so sorry, I didn't say anything." I mumble and grab the bowls and glasses from the the cabinet.
"I thoroughly enjoyed watching you two cook." Aiden turns and offers a smile.
"I could have at least offered you guys a drink while waiting." I sigh.
"No need." Aiden nods and takes the bowls from my hands, as Laken grabs the silverware from Valan.
I watch in awe, as Laken and Aiden set the table. Valan and I start to grab the food and place it in the middle of the table.
"Well, help yourselves. Hope you enjoy it. This is a creamy steak fettuccine with a vegetable stirfry." I smile, as I place the glasses on the table and the wine bottle down.
Laken and Aiden, neither one sits but instead each holds a chair out.
Valan walks over to Laken and kisses his cheek, before sitting in the chair he had out.
I walk over and Aiden watches me like a hawk.
"If I may?" His voice is a little deeper, and my vagina literally tingles with the deep octave of his.
I can feel my cheeks heating up, so I lower my head slightly.
"Thank you." I give a soft smile and accept the chair.
Aiden and Laken both round the table and sit opposite of Valan and I. I do like this set up though, being able to see Aiden head on, because I think I would forget how to eat properly sitting directing next to him.
Aiden has this commanding air around him. Makes sense knowing what I have heard of him briefly.
"Ladies first." Aiden nods to the food.
"Oh no, guests first." I smirk. "I want to know that it is something you will enjoy. Because if not, I will make something else and not eat until you do."
Valan sputters on the sip of wine she took, with Laken filling the glasses.
