Chapter 74: No! It Can’t Be!

“Not so fast!” Bill blocked the door. “You are in my pack. As you are all intruders, I may send all of you to the prison.”

“Really?” Cameron raised his eyebrow. “Then what right does your sister have with her intention to harm Anna?” He folded his arms across his chest. Then he added with an icy tone, “Besides, what is your right to rape Anna?”

“My sister gave her to me. Lisa is your mate and Luna. It’s valid for me to receive a lovely present as Anna is the pack member of yours.” Bill sneered at Cameron. “I valued her so greatly until I offered her to be my Luna. I even wanted to be the father of her pup.”

“She doesn’t need you. She has already had me as the father of her pup. We will raise our pup. No need for you to interfere,” Cameron said, debating what Bill had said.

I took my trousers and torn shirt on the floor and wore them. Melanie removed her jacket and helped me to wear it. After fastening the knots of my torn shirt to ensure I looked appropriate, I took a deep breath. Cameron was here, and I felt safe already with him here.

Melanie touched my upper arm. “Are you okay?” she whispered. “Did he … did he …?” She didn’t finish her words, but I understood what she meant.

I shook my head. “No, I’m grateful to the Highest One because you all came first. I prayed He would send someone to help me, and three of you came.”

“Our Alpha was worried. We searched for you everywhere. When he knew Luna Lisa had you, it was a difficult time for him.” Melanie held my hand. “He was forced to accept Luna Lisa as his mate. He didn’t love her.”

“I know. I felt bad for him, but it was the sacrifice he had to make.”

Then Nate stopped the heated debate between Cameron and Bill. “It’s better we stop it now. We all are in high emotion right now. For the peace of two packs, let’s continue discussing it in three days’ time.”

Bill stared at Nate. “You are so loyal to him, even after he took your mate. I don’t know if I must admire or pity you.”

Nate only shrugged. “Lisa is my mate, and Cameron never took her. Last night, Lisa mated with me, not with Cameron.”

“What?! How?” Bill glared. He glanced at Nate and Cameron. “Did you drug her?”

Cameron smiled a little. “What do you think? As you have done it to her, I think you can guess yourself.”

“She is pregnant! Drugging her can be dangerous for her pup.” Bill touched his nape. “I know it was a bad idea. But Father said it was the only way. The peace treaty was more important than Lisa.” His shoulders sagged. “I have never wanted to harm my sister. I want her to be happy.”

“The potion we gave her was a weak one. It only affected her for a few hours. So, it wouldn’t affect her health or the pup,” Cameron said. “Yet I can’t say the same about the drug you gave to her.”

That was when Lisa and a woman I didn’t know entered the room. Lisa’s eyes glared at Bill. “How dare you? You are my brother! How could you do this to me?”

Nate moved forward and held Lisa’s hand. “Calm down. Anger won’t do good to our pup.”

Lisa took a deep breath, then turning Nate’s hand. She rubbed his palm and then raised her face to stare at him. “Is it true? Did I mate with you last night, not with Cameron?”

Nate nodded. “Yes, it’s true. But it’s also I who mated with you the last time in your room. You asked me to mate with you. Can you remember it?”

Lisa said nothing, but she bit her lower lip. The woman beside her touched Lisa’s arm. “Miss Lisa ….”

“Susanne, is it true that I mated with Nate in our pack? In my room?” Lisa’s voice was shaky. “Is that true?”

Susanne bent her head forward. “Yes, Miss Lisa. It’s true. You were in love with Beta Nathanael. I knew it for sure. Otherwise, you wouldn’t ask me to help him prepare for dinner. Do you remember it?”

“B-but how can I remember it was Cameron who mated with me?”

Susanne creased her forehead and patted her chin. After a while, she shouted, “Alpha Fred!” But then she shut her mouth with a hand. Her eyes widened in fear. Susanne shook her head frantically. “No! It can’t be!” She repeated it a few times.

“What do you mean?” Lisa asked.

“No, it can’t be. Forget what I said, miss.”

“Susanne, you must tell me what you thought. Please!” Lisa emphasized her words. “I need to know! I can’t live like this forever. Susanne ….”

Then Susanne kneeled and hugged Lisa’s feet. “I remembered when you were faint after visiting Alpha Fred. Uh, I mean Elder Fred.” She licked her lips. “When you were conscious, it was the start of your confusion. Before that, you had never misplaced between Alpha Cameron and Beta Nathaniel.”

“My father ….” Then Lisa shook her father. “No way! It can’t be! Why did my father do such a thing to me?” Lisa raised her head to stare at Bill. “Is it true, Bill? Did father drug me to mess my memory?”

Bill approached Lisa and held her hand. “Sister, you are pregnant. It’s not good to discuss such things now. Go rest!” Then he ordered Susanne, “Bring Miss Lisa to rest in her room.”

“Yes, Alpha Bill.” Susanne bent her head to Bill, and then she talked to Lisa, “Let’s go to your room, miss. Cook has prepared some of your favorite food. It will be good for your pup.”

But Lisa shook her head. “No, I can’t rest before I know everything for sure.”

Susanne glanced at Bill and Nate, asking for help without sound. Her lips trembled.

Nate offered his hand to Lisa. “I will accompany you to your room. You need to rest. Our pup will enjoy it if you eat your favorite food. Come!”
