Chapter 90: The Fight and Break the Bond
The two wolves growled and ran toward me. I waited for them to start their first attack. A wolf jumped, aiming to bite my nape while the second wolf targeted my neck. What evil Elders they were! How could they attack the deathly points?
I kicked the second wolf in the face and stomped on his body to attack the first wolf. As the first jumped in the air, he couldn’t defend himself against my attack. When both wolves fell to the ground, I kicked both heads and growled. Those weaklings lie on the ground and moved no more.
Some guards showed up immediately in the Great Assembly room. They gasped to see us fight each other. An Elder approached the guards and told them what happened. Then I shape-shifted back to human form and put on my clothes.
“Guards, put them in the dungeon!” I yelled, then pointed at the rest of the three Elders. “Also, these three. They will be executed after a fortnight.”
An Elder yelped and kneeled. “Alpha, please forgive me. I didn’t mean to take sides against you, but I was forced.”
I raised my eyebrow. “Forced? By who?”
The Elder gulped and didn’t dare to point at any of the four Elders. I waited, but the Elder still said nothing.
“You lied to avoid punishment. Guard, take him!”
“Alpha, please! I don’t lie. But … I can’t reveal who forced me, either. Please have mercy on me!”
I hated cowards the most. So, I pointed at the Elder to the guards. “What are you waiting for? Take him now!”
But then Anna stood beside me. She touched my arm. “Can I speak to the Elder?”
“Why?”
“I need to confirm my assumption. It won’t take long.” Anna smiled at me and squeezed my arm a little.
“Fine, but don’t get any closer to him,” I whispered. No matter what Anna wanted to do, I must ensure her safety.
Anna nodded and walked a few steps. “Elder, are you concerned about your family?”
The Elder gasped. “How do you know?”
Anna only smiled. “Please hold him tightly,” she said to the guards. “I want to talk with him further.”
“Yes, miss.”
Anna whispered in the Elder’s ear, then the Elder burst into tears. Anna patted his shoulder and returned to my side. “Can I talk to you alone?”
“Sure!” Then I said to the guards, “Please bring those four first. I will return soon with my decision for the last Elder.”
The guards bowed their heads. “Yes, Alpha.” Then they escorted the four Elders to the dungeon. The last Elder stared at Anna and me with a pleading gaze.
We walked to the corner. It was far enough from everyone else. Then Anna whispered, “I think the Elder got threatened.”
“By who?” I asked, whispering too.
“Maybe one of those four Elders. Yes, he was against you, but it was by force.”
“How could you suspect it?” I gazed at my woman.
She shrugged. “His gestures were unnatural. He kept glancing at the rest of the Elders. That’s why I found it odd. Also, as he wanted to change sides, but he showed regret that he couldn’t do it.”
“I see. You are quite an observant.”
Anna grinned. “It’s because you had to think about what you would do next. But I didn’t have any pressure for that. So I took my time to observe most Elders here.”
“I see.” I rubbed my chin. “Well, I think I know what I will do.”
Then I wrapped my arm around her waist, and we walked back to our audiences. “I have reached my decision. The last Elder will be sent to the dungeon too, but separate him from the four Elders. Please guard him more strictly!”
The last Elder gasped and bent his head to the floor. “Alpha, please have mercy!”
“Bring him!” I shouted to the guards. Then the guards brought the last Elder to the dungeon too.
My father rushed to approach me. ‘Son, are you sure the last Elder is guilty? I think he wanted to support you, but something stopped him,’ my father said through the mind link.
‘Anna concluded the same. I only acted, Father. I wanted to protect the last Elder. If I released him, someone might harm his family.’
My father shook his head. ‘It’s madness! Can it be that our Elders aren’t as good as we thought?’
‘It’s quite possible. I intend to interrogate them. But we will have a rest first. I will let some time pass first and let them sweat. It will be easier to get a confession by then.’
My father patted my shoulder. ‘Okay, then.’ Then he smiled at Anna. “We must decide your role in the pack too. Come!” He offered his hand to her.
Anna hesitated at first, but then she took my father’s arm. Afterward, they walked to the middle of the Elders. “My respected Elders, please have a seat,” my father said. “I wonder with what we listened and saw today, it may be enough to decide another important decision.”
My father and Anna sat first before my father continued his words. “We agreed not to send Anna to the Hurricane Dawn Pack. Also, with Luna’s request to annul the relationship between our Alpha and her, can we agree to let Miss Lisa to step aside as Luna?”
All Elders didn’t require a long time to decide. They said, “Agree!”
“Very well.” Then my father asked Lisa, “Miss Lisa, are you ready to annul the relationship with my son?”
Lisa nodded and stood. “Yes, Elder Horace. I’m ready.”
“Son, please come here. Miss Lisa, please come here too.” After Lisa and I were near my father, he said, “I’m sorry to encourage the match between you two. You can reject my son now and break the bond, Miss Lisa.”
Lisa shook her head. “It’s not your fault, Elder Horace.” Then she took a deep breath. “I think it’s better for you to reject me, Cameron.”
I glanced at Lisa. “Are you sure?” Considering the rejected ones would feel more hurt, I didn’t want to punish her. “I don’t mind if you reject me.”
But Lisa didn’t change her mind. “Please, it started with me. I want to end this.”
I nodded. “Very well, if you don’t mind. I, Cameron Black, reject you, Lisa Shadow. We are no longer mates and you are no longer my Luna. We have no relationship from now on.”
Lisa sniffed. “Thank you. I’m sorry for what I’ve done.”
