Surprise Attacks
Gusev’s mouth opened in shock and Dimitri couldn’t stifle his laugh.
“How could you, my dear best friend!” Gusev cried out and Alpha Magnus groaned.
“As I said, stop calling me best friend. I don’t want to get involved in a lowly creature.”
Gusev gave up on arguing with Alpha Magnus as Dimitri guided him to where he would be staying.
“I know what you’re thinking. Don’t get involved with vampires.” Alpha Magnus warned me, as we were left alone now.
“I was just curious.” I shrugged, “Oh…what did he tell you?”
“It's classified information.” Was all Alpha Magnus' answer.
I pouted my lips, “Please? Alpha?”
“No.” He firmly responded, “Stop poking your nose on other things and just focus on keeping yourself safe.”
I sighed. Fine, I’ll rack all the information from Gusev myself next time.
Nighttime came, and the window opened.
I saw a figure coming in as the cold breeze harshly hit my skin.
I sniffed and I could smell the scent of someone familiar. I furrowed my eyebrows, “Thora? What are you-“
“That swim in the lake was really cute.”
I blinked as she spoke up. “What are you trying to-“
She scoffed at me, “You’re so naive that I have to really come to you.” Her tone was irritated and bored. You’re too slow to figure things out. I’m so disappointed in you, Kamilah.”
It took me a minute to realize it. I clicked my tongue, “It was you?” I almost couldn’t believe it.
“Yes, wanna know a secret? I am a spy of Druscilla.”
Thora is the killer.
That is what I’m sure of.
I growled at her as she laughed at me. I stayed still, alert on my toes. I keep note of her movements.
“I am one of Druscilla’s subordinates. I also wanted Owen for me but now that my cover is blown, see you!”
My fangs dug deep into her neck and she groaned. A smirk played on her lips as she removed my claws from her. “You won’t win against me.”
And she instantly ran away, leaving me alone. Still in shock, I sat on the ground, not knowing what to do. Thora had become a friend of mine here…and I didn’t know betrayal would find its way to me here again.
I instantly felt a presence behind me, and I looked up to see Alpha Magnus was already there.
“It was Thora….” I muttered as I looked in the direction where Thora left. “She’s part of Druscilla…”
He nodded, instantly getting my point. “I’ll investigate this. We’ll never know she had someone assisting her in the pack.”
I scoffed, tired of all of this. “Seems that your “safest place on Earth” is not working, Alpha Magnus. Some rats managed to slip in. How can you be so sure that this thing might not happen again?”
“Kamilah..” Alpha Magnus tried to reach out to me but I stayed still. Just then, his ears perked up and he sharply looked around, standing on alert.
“Stay on your paws.”
I would normally not obey him, but something tells me another danger will come.
A branch of a tree snapped and I instantly felt sharp fangs clinging to my shoulder. I groaned fr pain and Alpha Magnus pushed the intruder away from me.
“Looks like Thora’s friends heard of this.”
He clicked his tongue, fury lacing in his tone. Judging from the stinky foul smell, I stared into the claw marks of my attacker’s.
He’s definitely a rogue. Five more rogues then appeared behind him, circling us.
“No, the scent is different. Druscilla never works with the rogues.” I told him and Alpha Magnus protectively grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side. “Stay behind me, Kamilah.”
I shook my head, “No, I’ll fight back.”
Alpha Magnus was firm as he forced me to stay rooted at my spot. He launched at all five of the rogues. It was the first time I had seen Alpha Magnus fight seriously in front of me. he managed to save me last time from my old pack, but my memories from there seemed to be a bit hazy.
Magnus was quick, precise and there was surely killing intent. He transformed into his black furry wolf and in one swift motion, four of the five rogue's heads were dropped on the ground.
The last rogue was shocked, and panic filled his face.
He tried to run away but Alpha Magnus was quick to get him, “Uh uh, I won’t spare any of you. Tell me who sent you!”
Even though on the verge of death, the rogue smirked, “You have a lot of traitors within your pack.”
Alpha Magnus gritted his teeth, tightening his hold on the rogue’s neck, “You seem to underestimate my power, filth. Spill the truth or your guts are out.”
“Just kill me, I’m dead anyway.”
Alpha Magnus rolled his eyes and dragged the rogue’s head. He turned to me, “Come. I’ll show that pup who he’s messing with.”
He dragged the rogue behind him and I followed as Alpha Magnus made his way back to the packhouse.
He continued on until he stopped at the familiar house, knocking on the door.
The door opened and a shocked Stacy came into view.
“Alpha Magnus? What is-“ She stopped as Alpha Magnus harshly dropped the rogue in front of her.
Stacey gasped looking at the bloodied rogue.
Alpha Magnus leaned on the wall, “How many more of them are here?” His tone was calm, but his eyes were menacing and throwing daggers at her.
Stacey blinked, “What? I don’t understand-“
“Tell me. How many more did you hire,” he stated again, “Don’t make me repeat myself, Stacy.”
Some pack members noticed the commotion as we were still in Stacy’s doorway. They instantly watched the scene in curiosity, wondering what was happening.
I stayed quiet behind Alpha Magnus, just watching them.
“I don’t-“
“Staying innocent huh?” Alpha Magnus kicked the door, breaking the interior of the wood.
“Everyone! Watch this traitor lying at me, the alpha, straight in my face.” He yelled for everyone, and I even saw Owen from the crowd.
Alpha Magnus grabbed the rogue’s head and made him face Stacey, “Rogue, tell me who sent you to attack us there?”
Stacy’s eyes widened to the, “I don’t know that filthy rogue-“
“It’s her.” The rogue admitted and the crowd gasped.
Stacy’s eyes widened in horror, and then with anger to the rogue, “What? I don’t even know you, filthy rogue!”
Alpha Magnus dropped the Rogue and grabbed Stacy’s throat to harshly push her to the wall, “Tell me the reason, Stacy.”
