Intruder's proposal
“Somewhere…but I have to tell you something urgent.”
“Go on.”
“We have an intruder.”
I raised my eyebrows, “Who?”
“Alpha Magnus.” He replied, “He kept on persisting to see you saying you were asking for him but we kept him in the dungeons.” He reported, not batting an eye.
I dropped my pen as I stood up and went to the door, “Good job, now let’s see what that he wants to tell me.”
He kept me waiting earlier after all, for sure this Alpha is up to something?
I strutted on the stairs as Almiro guided me down to the dungeons. There were cobwebs everywhere and the place was dark, but my eyes are still as sharp as ever. I could see a figure of a man from the cell afar.
When we reached Magnus’s cell, we stopped and I looked at him, “Alpha Magnus from Bloodlust pack, care to tell me what are you doing in my territory?”
I mind linked Almiro to leave us alone and he nodded diligently before leaving us alone.
“I know what you’re thinking, I came here with no ill intentions, Alpha Kamilah.” Alpha Magnus started. “I apologize too early for not seeing you earlier as I was gathering information from the meeting.”
“Then spill it, don’t waste my time. What were you saying earlier?” I demanded, making sure to seek dominance in this conversation and showing him who’s the one in control here.
He just chuckled at me. “Quite the temper, Alpha Kamilah. You’re the one who is asking for information, is it proper to treat your guest like that?” He then motioned at the chains that Almiro put on him.
“Come on, loosen this up first and then we could talk.”
He's the strongest alpha here, and she hates to admit that, so why is he just letting himself be locked in their dungeon-like this? He could have just easily knocked down Almiro for putting him on a chain but he didn’t do it.
There must be something.
I opened his cell and got inside. I leaned in, “Don’t you forget that you are in my territory now, Alpha Magnus, and alone. As I’ve said, I am thankful for helping me from that incident decades ago, but let’s put the past behind us and move on. It’s time you stop bugging me.” I said bluntly.
Alpha Magnus nodded calmly, “Alright, alright, now drop the threats, I was always trying to catch your attention for the past year, Alpha Kamilah. You see, I happened to hear some valuable information. Wanna know it?”
“Depends on how valuable it is,” I retorted, which he ignored as he continued.
“You believe in birds that flock together, stay together? I believe that applies to us right now…” He trailed off. “But firstly, I want to ask. Aren’t you tired of being hated by the elders and everyone?”
I kept quiet, letting him speak for now. “You made a deal with the powerful necromancer decades ago….” Alpha Magnus decided to drop,
I scoffed, “And? What’s your point? Everyone knows it.”
Suddenly, he broke free from the chains and held me in his arms.
I felt electricity and sparks flashing before us and I flinched, I pushed him away.
“Watch your manners, Alpha Magnus.”
“It seems you’re still resisting me as your mate.” He said, his tone sounding bitter. “Why? Do you really hate the idea of having me as your mate?”
I kept quiet. He still hasn't imprinted on me so there’s a chance I could refuse him as a mate. I don’t want to be tied up with anyone, making someone my whole world that I forget my goals, only to be betrayed in the end. And I'm sure He will betray me someday. “I have my reasons.”
“I see, so your answer is yes.” He said and turned serious. “Let’s set our personal things aside. The real reason I came here is to propose an offer. An alliance. A war is coming. I want you to be by my side.” He said.
“War? We have been through lots in the past.” I said.
“The elders are planning something big to eradicate you completely, so I want to ask if you are going to participate in this war.” He explained further.
“And what does this have to do with me?” I asked, analyzing what he said. Of course, I knew how everyone wants nothing but for me to die right now, but I never knew the elder is getting bolder day by day to think that he could just finish me off.
“You made history in the past.” He stated.
I shook her head, “That’s not me anymore. I want to live quietly. If you are planning on war, don’t include me. If they kill me, then let them, I will fight back, but I will never have anything to do with you.” I said, “But you’re telling me all of this…What if I tell the elders about your plan and make you my enemy?”
“Oh, I know you are not that dense, Alpha Kamilah. I know you are going to side with someone strong and right now, that is me. I’m just fulfilling the prophecy.”
“Prophecy?” I stopped at that, his hands grabbing mine and I felt electricity coming. “You keep going on with that, but you’re not.”
Just then, he instantly bit down on my neck and I growled, pushing him away.
“You bastard!”
I held my neck, feeling blood all over, and saw Alpha Magnus licking his lips as his teeth were dripping with blood.
“I apologize, I have to show you so you’ll believe me.” He said, showing his sharp canines as his eyes glinted with red pools of blood. “I am the child of prophecy, Kamilah. I am the hybrid.”
I blinked, feeling my heart beating fast, and gulped.
I tried to recall what the necromancer said to me last century. He said I would meet…my mate when a child of prophecy comes to me. And this child of prophecy is born from a vampire and werewolf. A sign of a great tragedy to ever come.
I stepped back, looking down and breathing deeply. Knowing he’s my mate is one thing. But knowing my mate is a hybrid…“A hybrid..No, this can’t happen,”
“Get out, and don’t include me with all of this,” I said and called Almiro through the mind link.
“Almiro, get him out of here and make sure he never returns back to our territory.”
“As you wish, Alpha.” And Almiro did as I ordered.
“You’ll need my help soon, I promise. Alpha Magnus mouthed before letting Almiro escort him out.
