Chapter 11 Sammie Is Scared Of Mother
Luther POV
I cuddle with my queen. I kiss her and watch her as she falls into a deep sleep. I want her to feel wanted and safe when she is with me. I want to help her lead her tribe, but my pack must also be taken care of by us. I cannot turn my back on my pack. I think we can do this together.
First thing, we need to see how bad the fairy tribe lands are damaged, then I am putting Argo and his brother on investigating what the hell happened to the King and Queen. There is no reason why any of this should have happened. Someone will have to pay for all of this.
I need to check on my brothers and make sure they are okay. I thought they would come here to hunker down when everything happened. Drake is probably hiding with the little witch. Oh, I bet Silas is afraid I will ask him to do something. Silas has always been the lazy one of the three of us.
I lay my head down on my pillow. I fall into a deep sleep, holding Laura Angel. She moves, occasionally waking me. I hold her tighter. I know her heart is broken. It is my job as her husband to help her find the culprits who hurt her family.
The sun breaks through the window of our bedroom. I awake, and Laura is gone. I get out of bed and dress quickly. I need to go with her to the fairy tribe lands. I do not want her to go alone. It will be hard on her if there is no one there to console her. I know she is strong, but I should be with her.
I go down the stairs. I hear my mother talking in the kitchen to my father. "Where is Laura?" I ask my mother.
"She is on the porch talking with Ando," my mother answers me.
I grab a piece of bacon off of the stove and go out onto the porch. Ando and Luara are in a heated discussion. "What is going on?" I ask the two of them.
Laura looks at me. " Well, Ando was telling me that the wolves with that moon symbol are guns for hire and that someone probably hired them to go after my family," Laura says.
"That is true. I think that is what happened. The only question is, who would want to harm your family and your tribe? Any ideas?" I ask her.
Laura shakes her head. "I do not have an answer for that. My parents were wonderful people. They never hurt anyone. They were kind and loving, and damn they were great people. Why would someone want to hurt them?" Laura asks me.
"I do not know either, but we will find out together," I say to her.
Sammie and Shelby flutter up to the house. "Good morning, Alpha. Good Morning Queen Laura," the two tinks say in unison.
"Good morning, tinks," Laura says to them.
Sammie flutters over to me. "Alpha, can we talk," Sammie asks me.
"Sure, are you okay?" I ask her. Sammie looks inside. I look behind me and see my mother watching her. That is odd. My mother rushes out onto the porch.
"Everything okay with the little ones?" My mother asks.
"Yes, we just came by to say good morning," Sammie says. She begins to fly away.
"Wait, let me make sure you get back to your cabin okay," I say to Sammie.
My mother looks startled. "I can take them. I do not mind at all. I am sure you and Laura have things to do," my mother says.
"Noo, we will be fine," Sammie says. She begins to flutter away fast.
"I am worried about them. Laura come with me, you too, Ando," I say.
"Doesn't Ando need to stay here with your father and me," my mother asks.
"No, I need him," I snap at her.
Laura and Ando follow me off the porch as I try to catch up with Sammie and her sister. "What is wrong?" Laura asks me.
"I want to know why Sammie is afraid of my mother. Sammie said she needed to talk to me, but when she saw my mother, she changed her mind and wanted to leave," I say to Laura.
"Your mother left for a while last night," Ando says.
I stop. "What! No one was supposed to leave the house," I yell at Ando.
"It is kind of hard to stop her. You know how she is," Ando says. I agree she is hard to handle.
"Where did she go?" I ask Ando.
"Selene said she needed some air and wanted to go get something from her house," Ando says.
"Did she bring anything back with her?" I ask Ando.
"Yes, a box. It was like a metal box that needs a key to open it," Ando says.
"I want that box," I say to Ando.
"Do you want me to go get it now or go with you?" Ando asks.
"I want you to come with us for now, but when we get back, I want that box," I say.
Laura looks stunned. "You do not think Selene would harm my family. I thought she was happy for us. It was Selene that pushed for us to get married," Laura says.
"I know, Laura, but something is off with her. I know it. She is acting strangely. She is up to something," I say.
The three of us make out way to the cabins where the faires are staying. They all come out to see Laura. They are thrilled to see their queen. "I am going to find Sammie and Shelby, and you talk to your people," I say.
Laura stays behind to talk to her people. I walk around looking for Sammie and Shelby. It takes me a few laps around the cabins, and then I spot fluttering close to the water. I run down to the water. The two tinks are hiding.
"Why are you hiding? Are you afraid?" I ask them.
Sammie flutters up to me. "I wanted to make sure your mother was not with you," Sammie says.
"What did you need to talk to me about Sammie, it seemed important?" I ask her.
"Tell him," Shelby says, fluttering closer to her sister.
"Alpha Luther, I am a bit nosey. I flutter around places I should not sometimes, and I do not sleep very well at night. So last night, I fluttered around trying to make myself tired," Sammie begins.
"Did you see something that scared you?" I ask Sammie.
"Yes, I saw your mother with the wolves. I flew away fast. I do not know if she saw me, but I know it was her with them. She was giving them something. I did not tell anyone. I did not want the other fairies to be angry with you, especially since you and Laura are together," Sammie says.
"How did you know we are together?" I ask her.
"I already told you that I am nosey, and I go places I should not go.
"Thank you, Sammie. I will take care of Selene. You are my favorite fairy by far. You know it," I say to her.
"Oh, Alpha, thank you," Sammie says. She flutters up to my cheek and kissed me right as Laura is coming down to the water.
Laura laughs as the little tinks fly past her. "Are you in love with another Fairy?" Laura asks me.
I take her into my arms. "You are the only fairy for me," I say to her.
"So tell me, what was so important that Sammie needed to tell you?" Laura asks.
"Laura, I think Selene is involved with your parent's murder," I say to her.
Laura is in shock. "Noo, that can not be true. I cannot believe that. I will kill her," Laura says.
Laura takes flight and flies toward the house. She is fast. I take my wolf form to catch her before she kills Selene. I need answers first.
