Half a year later...
I sat peacefully on my and Keno's bed while absentmindedly stroking my round stomach and listening to the rocking music on the small radio.
Although I didn't like these sounds as much as my quiet pop music, my peanut found the guitar solos very exciting, which I noticed from the way he danced his feet against my stomach again and again.
Taking a deep breath, my gaze wandered to the window and the weather here hadn't changed at all in the last few months. The rain pelted down on us incessantly and the gray clouds never really seemed to pass. Perhaps it was just our destiny to succumb to this gloom. I had no idea and despite the clouds I was just happy every day to wake up and fall asleep right here.
I had seen the darkness. Been the victim of disgusting creatures for days and basically just wanted to enjoy my quiet life in peace.
With this thought to the future, I got up from the bed in my really nice brown maternity dress and padded barefoot over to the window to let my eyes wander over our village. In contrast to the weather, a lot had changed here, even if a stranger wouldn't see it at first glance, but I saw it immediately.
Down there between the huts there were no longer just men who could have been dangerous to me, but now also many female werewolves. While still not enough to satisfy every wolf, it was a small start.
Where did they suddenly come from?
Keno, Jamal, Aymo and I sat down shortly after our return and I told them at length that there was not just one, but probably hundreds of vampire kings in this world and not just that...
I also told them that I was more than certain that they were keeping our fellows in their dungeons.
It hurt the three of them as much as it did me, and we decided not to sit idly by and watch us diminish.
On the contrary!
Keno made himself the executor of the liberation actions and so it was that he would sometimes be out with Aymo and Jamal for days.
They wandered through the forests of this world as wolves and fought the vampires without swords and weapons... but with their natural claws and the help of fire.
Yasha and Juniper also rarely crossed paths and helped them with their projects, much to the delight of Jamal, who would probably never stop wanting to have the two under him.
How much I missed them all...
My job was just to take care of me and the baby and of course to be a good Luna to the pack. I tried to respond to everyone here as best I could. Discussed their problems with them and made new lists every week of things we needed from the cities, but still it wasn't my destiny.
I also wanted to get out into the world. Wanted to free my kind too and couldn't wait for my Ernduss to finally come into this world. Then Keno time could stay at home and I could go hunting.
He didn't know about it yet, but I didn't give it too much thought. To the outside world he was the big alpha who didn't snarl, but to me he was just my keno, massaging my feet in the evenings and reading me the best books so I could calm down and smile Lips could sleep... How much I loved him...
"They're coming!", a female voice tore me out of my thoughts and surprised, I turned to Sonya, who smiled at me happily.
I knew where her happy smile came from. It didn't matter that the men had freed her from a dungeon three weeks ago. It also didn't come from the fact that we had become very good friends....
No...
It was because the playful Aymo was her mate and sadly they hadn't really found the time to get to know each other better, but that was sure to change with his arrival today.
Without giving her anything in return but a mild smile, I preceded her out of the bedroom and down the stairs at a brisk pace, barely getting to the front door, staring at the large wooden gate. My heart was already pounding like crazy and I closed my eyes for a moment to take in the smell of Keno deeply.
It was a lovely smell and even my peanut was enjoying himself and kicking like crazy with it.
Since we knew it would be a boy, we decided on the name Kiro. It had the meaning of hope and I found it very fitting considering that it was only because of him that I had stayed in that stinking dungeon.
"Excited?" Sonya asked me and I caught a glimpse of her nervously ruffling her long brown hair while her eyes fixed on the gate.
"Not as much as you," I replied and suddenly I felt that Keno's eyes were on me and I got goosebumps all over my body while my eyes met his at that moment and my heart almost skips a beat.
Hard to believe that it was only half a year ago that I wanted to break out of here with all my might, because now there was no more beautiful place for me.
"Hey, little one," he greeted me, and then kissed my lips lovingly as I returned, eager for more, while my hands wrapped around his body to pull him closer to me.
"Hey, big guy," I breathed between kisses, reluctantly pulling away from him to look past him at the gate through which several intimidated women were entering at that moment.
"The vampires are getting stronger, the further away they seem," Keno said slightly depressed, who followed my gaze and that's when I first noticed Jamal, whose neck had a really bad injury.
"Oh god," I breathed, wide-eyed, and was about to walk towards Jamal, but Keno grabbed my arm and held me back.
"Don't worry. Yasha will take care of him," he winked, and before I knew what he meant, I suddenly noticed two hands on my eyes and someone close behind me.
"Guess who I am, a thousand kisses is yours," Juniper giggled, and even though Keno's menacing growl sounded next to me, I smiled happily and quickly turned to face her.
"You like surprises, don't you?" I laughed and briefly hugged her, turning back to Keno, who just grabbed my hand.
"Yeah, but I think I'll leave you guys alone," Juniper said, glancing at Keno, who immediately pulled me inside with him and didn't let go of my hand until we got to our bedroom.
"Have I ever told you that I love you?" he said suddenly, gripping my waist tightly so that my entire body heated from his proximity.
"Um... no," I grinned seductively, pointing to the bed next to us. "But I would prefer that you show me now how much you love me."
His eyes instantly darkened, propelled by my words, and I, too, closed my lids to press my lips against his and let my wolf take all the control.
She knew from the start that he was the right one and even if I never wanted to be found, I was more than grateful for that now.
