Blake
Blake POV
I awake with Samantha holding my hand. I am exhausted, and I feel drugged. "What happened?" I ask Samantha. She rubs the top of my hand and looks at me with the sweetest smile.
"Well, you fainted, and then my father found a bite mark on your neck. Do you remember any of the conversations we were having before you fainted?" Samantha asks.
My mind is fuzzy. "I remember you and your father were telling me about vampires. I cannot believe any of that. Vampires, that seems insane," I say. Samantha takes my hand and touches my hand to my neck.
"That is a bite on your neck from a vampire. You should have turned on the train and gone mad with blood thirst, but you did not. You seem more sick than anything. The pack doctor seems to think that maybe you have or had supernatural parents, could even be grandparents, maybe. Any of this ring a bell?" Samantha explains to me.
I shake my head, trying to understand what Samantha is saying. I think about my mother and my father. My father is a high tempered asshole. There is nothing special about him.
"I do not think any relatives in my family are special in any way. My father is a jackass. He is mean, and my mother, well, she was an angel," I say.
Samantha thinks for a moment. "Maybe your grandparents? Your father could be an ass because the magic skipped him?" Samantha inquires, which makes perfect sense everything she is saying.
"You think I am a witch or something?" I ask. Samantha laughs.
"It is possible. My father knows people that can come here to help you. He may be able to find out more about your family and what is so special about you," Samantha says.
I move to the side of the bed. "There is nothing special about me. I am only Blake. I guess now there is something special about me, and I will become a vampire. That is not something I want. I have to die to become a vampire right, I am not ready to die," I say.
Samantha begins to cry. Solomon comes into the bedroom as Samantha begins to shed massive tears and sobs loudly. "I do not want that for you, either. For some reason, even though you should have died after the bite, your body is fighting it. You are trying to stay you and not turn," Samantha says.
Alpha Solomon rushes to his daughters' side and holds her. He reaches over and touches my hand. "I promise to help you, Blake," Alpha Solomon says.
"Thank you. I want to live," I say.
Samatha wipes the tears from her eyes. "There is one thing. The pack will never allow a vampire to be here, not even for the Alpha," Samantha says.
I take a deep breath. "You mean I have to leave. I am homeless again?' I ask.
Alpha Solomon turns his attention to me. "No, you will be my servant and serve me. The pack can say nothing to you if you are my vampire servant," Alpha Solomon says.
"Serve you? Like how?" I ask.
"I will find you a job to do every day, so the pack sees you are working, but in reality, you will be my guest," Alpha Solomon says.
"Okay, thank you," I say.
"Samantha will go over the rules for you, so you do not slip up. You have to address me a certain way. There are a lot of little things to being the Alpha's servant. Samantha will help you, and when you are not being my servant, I will help you locate your family," Alpha Solomon says.
He looks at me as if he actually cares what might happen to me. I was sure he wanted to kill me, and maybe he did at first. Perhaps his daughter changed how he feels about me and my unique situation, or maybe I could be of some benefit to him.
"Are you going to kill me?" I blurt out.
Both Samantha and Alpha Solomon look at me in shock. Alpha Solomon moves closer to me and touches my face so gently. "If you try to harm my pack, I will kill you, Blake. I will have no choice, but if you stay like this and there is no harm to us, you can stay. Trust me, I will be keeping an eye on you," Alpha Solomon says. His eyes are piercing as he annunciates every single word. I know he means it. He will kill me if necessary. No matter how much Samantha wants to keep me.
Samantha breaks the tension and sits beside me on the bed. "I will take care of her today and get her settled, father. I will show her where everything is and make sure she knows her job," Samantha says.
"Good, you do that, but be careful," Alpha Solomon says. Alpha Solomon turns to leave the room. He closes the door. I see something changed in Samantha. She bolts through the door after him. I hear her screaming at him. I cannot make out every word, but I listen to her say mother several times. I wonder if her mother became a vampire and he killed her.
Samantha returns after a few minutes. Her face is red, and she is angry. "Let us get the hell out of here for a while before you turn for real," Samantha says.
I want to ask her about her mother, but I do not think this is the right time. Maybe after we spend some time together, she will tell me about her mother and what happened to her.
"Sure, I only need to freshen up a little," I say.
"Yeah, you are right. You freshen up, and I will be back in an hour. We can go and explore. I can show you where everything is and where not to go. Maybe we could get some food, or not," Samantha says.
"Food sounds good. I could really go for a cheeseburger right now," I say.
"Well, at least you are still craving food; that is a good sign," Samantha says.
She leaves me to take a shower and get dressed. My life just keeps getting more and more screwed up.
I freshen up quickly. I am not sure what I should do. I am not even sure of what is going on with me. Vampires! How can this be real? Wolves? If my life gets any crazier, I will scream.
I step out of the bedroom. Samantha and Alpha Solomon are both waiting for me. "How do you feel?" Alpha Solomon asks.
I take Samantha's hand, hoping to find some comfort with her. "I feel good. Well, as good as to be aspected. I am hungry for some food," I say.
"That is good; Samantha will show you around and prepare you for your duties as my private servant," Alpha Solomon says.
"Thank you," I say. I let go of Samantha's hand and hug Alpha Solomon. His hand touches my back, and he holds me tightly.
"Everything will be okay, Blake," Alpha Solomon says.
"Let us go," Samantha says. She takes my hand and walks me out of the house. Ty is waiting with a car for us. He smiles big at Samantha, and she almost looks like a school girl interacting with him.
I get into the car. "So, what is up with him?" I ask, smiling.
"He is a very good friend, but we are not mates. We only like to have a lot of fun together," Samantha says.
We both erupt into laughter. My life feels normal for a moment. "I want to meet someone, but I guess that will never happen now," I say after the laughing. Samantha looks at me, and I realize I dampened the mood with my tone.
Samantha reaches for my hand. "You will, Blake. You will meet someone perfect for you. I just know it," Samantha says.
I wish I could believe her words, but it is hard to know if she is serious. I am a vampire, well I will be a vampire eventually, and I am the servant of the Alpha now. What man would want me? A wolf may be from the pack or another vampire or Lord Robert. Lord Robert may be my only option.
"You still want that cheeseburger?" Samantha asks.
"Yes," I say. Maybe food will let me be human for a moment.
"Great, I know this amazing place," Samantha says.
She opens the sunroof on the car and turns up the radio, and we feel like ordinary women for a moment as we drive for food and maybe a beer. We pull into a bar at a few miles from the packhouse.
"There will be mostly wolves in here and a few women that like wolves for sex, you know. I do not want to call them whores, but they will never be their mates, and they just want to sleep with a wolf, so I guess maybe whore is the right word," Samantha says.
"Will I be okay in here?" I ask her.
Samantha smiles and touches my hand. "I am the Alpha's daughter, and you are his favorite servant, so we will be fine," Samantha says.
"Okay," I say as I get out of the car, and we go into the old bar. The bar almost looks like a wooden shack. There are bikes out front and a few rough looking wolves, but they quickly smile at Samantha and look friendly.
"Who is your friend?" one of the wolves standing next to his bike asks.
"This is Blake," Samantha says.
"She is hot," one of the wolves says.
"My father speaks for her," Samantha says to shut him up quickly. He backs down fast.
"No disrespect, Samantha," the wolf says.
"None was taken," Samantha says as she opens the door to the bar.
The bar is full of smoke, and it is loud. There are wolves and whores as Samantha calls them every where. "This place is a little rough," I say.
Samantha laughs. "Yeah, but we are safe, and I love to come here. It pisses my father off, and they have great food," Samantha says.
"I definitely want to eat and get a beer," I say.
"Atlas, bring us two beers and two burgers, extra fries," Samantha yells at the bartender. A few moments later, a woman brings us two beers. She smiles at Samantha but looks at me like I am her enemy.
"That is Candy, she is in love with Alpha, but he cannot stand her. I guess she heard me say you are his," Samantha says.
"Great, she might do something to me while I am here," I say.
Samantha shakes her head. "Hell no, she is too afraid of my father. You have no idea. He is fair and kind, but he is also cruel and unforgiving. Just ask my mom," Samantha says. She looks as if she is about to tell me about her mom, but then she smiles and stops the conversation.
"You want to dance?" Samantha asks me.
We grab our beers and head to the dance floor. Several wolves join us as we dance. We finish our beer on the floor, and Candy quickly brings us both another. "If Samantha gets drunk and it is your fault, Alpha Solomon will beat you," Candy says.
Samantha turns to Candy quickly. "Stop trying to scare her, Candy," Samantha snaps at her. There is more than a love affair there. Something happened, and honestly, I do not want to know what it was.
"Our burgers are on the table, come on," Samantha says. She grabs me, and we dance our way back to the table.
"Oh my, this is good," I say as I take a bite out of my burger.
"Do not listen to Candy. She got into some trouble with Alpha Solomon and blamed me, but it really was not my fault," Samantha says.
"It is none of my business," I say.
"I think you will do well here. I want you to be here with me, Blake. I enjoy your company," Samantha says.
"I do you too. I have never really had friends," I say.
As we finished eating and drinking our fifth beer, Alpha Solomon comes into the bar. "Samatha, I thought you were showing her the pack, not getting her drunk," Alpha Solomon says.
"Candy called you, didn't she?" Samatha asks.
Candy comes over. "I am just worried about you, Sugar," Candy says.
Samatha grabs a beer bottle off the table and smacks Candy. "Stupid bitch!" Samantha screams at her. "You will never take my mother's place, and you are just a whore!" Samatha says as she storms away from the table.
I run after Samantha. A wolf is waiting for us in her car. Samantha gets into the car with the wolf, and another wolf grabs me to go with Alpha Solomon. "Alpha said for you to go with him so he can talk to you," the wolf says to me as he places me in the truck.
Alpha Solomon comes out and gets into the truck, and he slams the door. He grabs my face and turns me to face him. "Do not make me regret allowing you to stay here," he says sternly. I shake my head and then look at the ground.
