Chapter 114
XANDER ---
I hear a boom and look at my window to notice one of the engines are on fire. Just wonderful I thought, now what do we do? It's probably one of our engines that's blown up in back
I think it's time for the witches and the vampires to come in. One of the nice things about vampires is that they can turn into bats when they want to. Additionally, they have a magic that allows them to zap themselves out of an airplane in a matter of seconds. Ideally, I would like them to fly outside and discover a land or island. Once they have found that piece of land, I will ask my witches to read their minds and help guide the plane there. They will create an invisible cushion so that the plane can land safely once it reaches the piece of land that they have discovered.
I explained to the witches and vampires, "When we land this plane, we need to land it carefully on land. Because if you guys start zapping them out of the plane magically it will cause a series of questions that none of us want to answer to human authorities" I informed them.
"Does anyone know of a witch who might be capable of putting a protective shield around whatever might end up going kaboom with fire back there?" I had asked the group of witches. Two witches rose their hands. Nodding to me they left to the back of the plane.
"Okay vampires, could I get some of you to find us some land?" I saw the lead vampire pointing and directing some of his men and women vampires to leave. Clair and I seem to attract adventure like bees to honey, I sighed.
If we make it through this alive, I will check if there is a preacher on board and I plan to ask that person to marry us. Despite our best efforts, we can't seem to make it to the alter without disaster looming over us.
When the vampires returned, they found a private island that appeared to be empty of people. The vampires communicated the location of the island to the witches, who directed the plane there. An invisible cushion was created by the witches in order to make landing the plane easier.
It was Claire's responsibility to ensure that all seatbelts were fastened and secured as she walked around the vehicle. There was a possibility of a rough landing, as she warned them.
Essentially, I did not have to fly the plane anymore as the witches were slowly lowering it like a hover plane. Upon landing, they made it appear as if we had flown through trees and left marks on the ground, making it appear as if we had crashed. The plane was torn into several sections, but the sections containing the passengers were not affected. Consequently, it will be considered a miracle by the authorities, even though they may scratch their heads and declare it such. This will not lead them to believe that it was a magical event.
The vampires wiped all the humans’ minds of the real events and planted a different event involving hijackers, knocking them out and landing the plane with a bumpy landing but most of us survived.
The island consisted of a mansion-type house with a minimal staff. It caught my attention that the staff were werewolves. There was still no cell phone reception. While holding Clair's hand, I walked over to the servants.
"Whose place is this?" I asked the servants.
There was an enormous painting in the house that looked exactly like Xander. They had their heads bowed in respect of what they could surmise was an alpha. Consequently, the servants recognized him as a descendant of royalty.
As he walked up to them, Xander said "you may be as you were" as he walked up to them.
“How are you communicating with other people from here? ” Xander asked the servants.
“In about two-days a ship will have supplies and we tell them anything we need or if we need a break, someone will take over for a couple of months until we come back.”
I asked the servants, "What would happen if there were an emergency? ", not believing that my dad took no means of communication with the outside world on this island in case of an emergency.
They smiled and explained that my father had hired a witch to put a spell on the island so that all the inhabitants would be protected from harm of any kind. In a way, this spell is like a protective bubble that surrounds you.
It was then that I smiled and thanked them, and they told me to bring everyone to the mansion so that they could stay in a room. It was also my request that they make sure everyone was fed before they left.
Clair –
“Well looks like we have a couple of days here. I wonder does this place have a pool? Hey how come you didn’t realize this property belongs to your family?”
Xander –
I shrugged. As I replied, “Vampires do not die, and werewolves have a longer life expectancy than humans. It is rare, but it does happen that they can live to be 1000 years old. This would probably have belonged to a 3rd great-grandfather of ours. We have so many properties in our family that I have no idea what they are, or where they are located. In our province, we have wolves that have their own department that is responsible for keeping track of all the land. This department makes sure they are kept in proper condition.”
Clair –
“Well let’s go explain to the passengers how we had no clue your father owned this island.”
Xander and I walked up the stairs and into the grand hallway. Turning left, we entered what appeared to be a den. There was a picture of a man who could have been Xander's identical twin above the desk.
The corners of my mouth dropped open. As I watched Xander approach the painting, he said nothing. His shock at the resemblance was evident.
On the wall of another room, which looked like a formal living room, was a picture of what appeared to be a portrait of Xander and me. Standing there, I wondered how this could be possible.
There was an old photo album on the shelf that was from the 1700s, but it did not appear to be old at all. The servants maintained a perfect level of cleanliness throughout the house. Upon opening the photo album, I discovered a wedding in a gazebo in the backyard. It would be easy for me to believe that those photographs belonged to Xander and me if I were someone else. We may be genetically programmed to find each other or perhaps the moon goddess likes us as a couple.
As I hear Xander's footsteps walking into the living room, I look up and see him looking stunned at the picture above the fireplace, which appears to be a portrait of us.
We hear the passengers in the background Oo and ahh over the mansion.
Clair –
“Well, Xander, what are your theories. I don’t believe in reincarnation”
Xander –
“Coincidence?”
Clair-
“What do we tell the passengers about these paintings, it is hard to believe it is not you and I in them.”
