Chapter 17 B O H

Early the next morning, Sobrina returned to the little space she was sharing with her friend under the office stairs in Veronica Island. She rested while the waitress who had returned earlier left for her morning shift. Sobrina had thanked her and told her she would be leaving later in the day.

She found her way to Idu which was another area on the Island, about seven kilometers far from Veronica Island and called the number the lady from the club had given her. She was later joined by the lady who was returning from wherever she had slept last night. They both made their way down to Blue Ocean hotel, Idu, Lagunde Island, where the lady shared a room with another lady.

"Make yourself comfortable, Basila - my roommate - has gone to a nearby pub where she hustles, she won't be back until later tonight, I barely even see her in a day. She usually returns after I had already left for the club in the evening, please don't touch anything, they're all hers and she would notice". The lady instructed.

The hotel was a two storey building, sandwiched amidst other similar cluster of residential buildings behind the international market at the heart of Idu Island. It had gotten it's name from the fact that it was painted on the outside with blue. It was a popular place due to the fact that it was the only building that housed whores in the area. On the ground floor was the hotel's pub, where some of the ladies who lived in the hotel dresses in next to nothing, dancing and waiting for customers in the evenings. The pub also served as the entrance into the building. A doorless entrance within the pub led to the corridor by which the staircase to the rooms above - where the ladies lived - was built. The staircase was always very dirty, littered with sacks of snacks, plastic bags, used plastic plates and condom papers. It was the duty of the girls to clean up at the end of every week.

Basila was the main owner of the room Sobrina had been admitted into, she had started squatting other ladies to reduce cost, the hotel permitted a maximum of three people in a room. Sobrina and her new roommate rested, the room was much comfortable than sleeping under the stairs at Veronica Island.

Later in the evening, the two ladies dressed up for the club. Sobrina had nothing flashy to wear, her new roommate offered to share her dresses and high heels with her, until she could afford to by hers. It turned out they weren't the only ladies living in the hotel who clubbed at Ynot, in Veronica Island. Other beautiful ladies were seen hurriedly applying makeup on the corridor, it was paramount that they arrived the clubhouse early to avoid the greedy bouncers who work at the club's entrance.

The hotel was occupied by two sets of girls, some who were regarded as cheap whores, who hustled on the dirty Idu Island or around the hotel, and those who clubbed at the different clubhouses littered about the much classy Veronica Island.

Sobrina and her new roommate left without meeting Basila as she had been told.

Tonight, she was beautifully dressed in an expensive mini gown, on the black high heels her roommate had borrowed her. The lady had also taught her how to apply makeup using her kit. Sobrina finally began to attract attention from the white men who patronized the clubhouse. Before long, she was able to afford to buy her own clothes and shoes.
