Chapter 84 LOVE AT LAST
It was a cloudy day, but the weather man had said not to expect either rain or sunshine throughout the whole day. The air was clean and misty, the sky was covered with blue and white clouds as if they were competing with each other. It was very beautiful to behold.
A pretty lady was sitting alone in the vast glassy room. There was a giant cocktail glass sitting on the glassy table in front of her. She was reading from a mini iPad on her open palms.
"Would you like anything else ma'am?", a well dressed handsome waiter gently questioned.
"Not yet",
"Alright, remember to push that little button if you change your mind", he said while pointing towards somewhere on the glassy table. Even the button he was referring to was made of glittering glass, built beneath the table. The dinning tables and chairs in the vast restaurant were also made of glass, the walls of the restaurant, the roof and the floor were all glassy. From where the lady sat, she could observe the pretty sky above her, she could also observe the numerous moving flying boats that looked like tiny bugs from where she was - kilometers above sea level. On one corner of the glassy room was a gigantic aquarium, there were fishes of all sizes, diverse species, and colors swimming within. The restaurant was built in the air, attached to the wall of the tallest building in the world. First timers have been known to refuse entering the restaurant for fear of heights. But it was solidly built by the very best construction company in the world.
"I definitely will darling", the lady responded with a smile, as the waiter bowed a bit and winked at her, before taking his leave.
A gentleman walked briskly in few minutes later, he was dressed in a suit and tie, looking very handsome. He was tall and athletic, the lady always thought he looked perfect like a movie star, except for the kaffiyeh that was constantly around his head no matter how he was dressed. She had never seen a movie star whose always wearing kaffiyeh, not in all her adventures, and she had been to a good number of places in the world.
"Sorry I'm late", the gentleman said as he sat on the glass chair opposite the lady. She looked up from the iPad and gave him the sweetest smile, as he blushed.
"It's my father and his worries, I had to check up on few emergencies before I could be free of him. I hope you haven't been waiting for too long",
"No, I just got here", the lady pleasantly lied. She'd been sitting in the restaurant for quite some time, but it wasn't totally because she was waiting for the handsome young man. She'd decided to explore the great hotel, she didn't have much time to do so the last time she was in the country.
"How was your journey",
"Smooth, pretty smooth. The elevator is very efficient and those little televisions, were they your idea?", she joked.
"I was actually asking about your journey to the UAE",
"Oh that, I probably need to fire my pilot. It was the bumpiest journey ever. But on a second thought, I think I'll just give him another chance. What do you think?",
"The Devil you know is better than the angel you don't, sweetie", the man said, now laughing very heartily.
"Good day sir", the waiter greeted, bowing slightly with his right hand on his chest. The lady hadn't noticed when the gentleman had pushed the little button - beneath the table - at his end. She turned around in surprise at the sound of the waiter's voice. She'd been so caught up in the conversation, enjoying every expression of the handsome gentleman.
"Get us a bottle of Krug", the gentleman said, "I'm also very hungry, please ask the chef to prepare me something to eat", he ordered.
"Do you have any choices, my lord",
"No, just tell him I'm the one asking",
"Yes sir, and my lady?", the waiter questioned turning towards the lady.
"oh no, I just had lunch in my room few minutes ago",
"surely you'll like some sea food then", the gentle man interrupted.
"Oh no no no...",
"Sobrina Malcolm, you can't just sit there while I eat, I would hate to have you notice all my sloppy eating manner",
"Alright then, a plate of lobsters would do", she said laughing, "but believe me when I say it my dear, I enjoy watching you eat. The way you handle those cutleries as if they're part of your hands",
The waiter had bowed again few seconds ago and walked away from their side, towards the kitchen.
"You would be the first to say so", the gentleman said laughing.
Sobrina was visiting the UAE for the fourth time, she was staying in a pretty large apartment in the best hotel in the world. Every thing in her room was large and expensive, she was sure she couldn't afford more than just one week in this hotel, and not without risking much. But thank goodness, she wasn't paying for nothing.
She'd been visiting Las Vegas for a brief vacation on her birthday few months ago when she had met the charming young man now sitting opposite her. She was on a baccarat table, bored and trying to lose a little bit of money, and this sweet smelling young man, with a kaffiyeh around his head had taken a sit beside her. They gradually began talking, a conversation that ended few hours later in his penthouse above the hotel building. It was quite an experience for Sobrina, they were both in a hurry, tearing off each other's dresses, kissing, moaning, talking, pleading for this way or that, until they were both satisfied. Or was it until she was satisfied? He was younger than she was, and had been the type to let her ask for whatever she wanted done, and he never stopped until she couldn't have no more. They had also drank a bit on the gambling table, and had fallen asleep in each other's arms.
It was a very strange activity, that had left Sobrina feeling guilty in the morning. For one, she had been raised in a totally different world, where things had to be done with caution, where everyone cared about what the other person did, where sex was so much of a big-big deal. But she'd began to loosen up many years ago, after she'd survived the worse experience of her life - a journey that wasn't easy at all - and had been blessed with a lucrative white collar job.
She had met a Senator during one of her outings in Saru, she'd thought he was one of the wealthy men who wanted nothing but her body in exchange for a prize. But at the end of their discussion few hours before the morning hours, the man had given her his complimentary card and had asked her to give him a call the following day, before he arose and left her alone in the VIP of the Billionaire's Night Club. She'd decided to give his request a try the following day, and he had invited her to his office at the National Head Quarters.
Sobrina had began working for the senator that very day, but that was eight years ago.
