Epilogue
Now she owned her own organization, she'd built it from the scratch using the huge amount she made from working for the Senator, and from dating both him and other top Government officials.
Her organization was presently the number one event's management company in her country, the head quarters was in the city of Saru - a six storey building the senator had willed to her before his sudden passing five years ago - with branches all over the country. She now had over six hundred employees - including Dove. She sold and rented luxurious designers wedding attires, foot wears and accessories, she also planned different forms of events for the top citizens of her country.
Sobrina had decided to live and die unmarried, until she met the young gentleman sitting opposite her. Now - even though he's a few years younger than she was - she was no longer so sure. It had been eight sweet months of dating. She'd opened up about her health to him over six months ago, when he had started making deeper conversations and had requested that she visited him in his country of origin. They'd continued chatting on social media after the fling they enjoyed back at the Sin City. She'd not been expecting anything serious to spring out of that night. But after she gradually opened up to him and explained that, that was the reason why she'd insisted on the use of protection, and also why she couldn't date him anymore, she was surprised by his response.
"Sobrina Malcolm", like he liked to address her when he was being very respectful, "please come to the UAE and visit me", he'd insisted.
"I'm afraid I can't, do you understand all I've said?",
"Do I have to respond to that question right now?",
"Well, I...",
"For Christ's sake Sobrina, even though I'm not practicing, I'm a licensed medical doctor. Why don't you come around and we'll talk about it in person? I promise all will be well", he'd assured her.
"But...",
"When should I send the Jet?", he had questioned, interrupting Sobrina over the phone.
Sobrina had very reluctantly obeyed his instructions and visited the UAE for the first time four months ago. The Jet he'd sent was one of the ones belonging to the family business, of which he was an MD. He was the third and last child of an aging Arabic Prince. His brothers managed other sectors of the family business located in different countries, of which one of them was the hotel Sobrina had met him in, back at the United States.
She'd been shown to a beautiful room in the most beautiful place she'd ever set her foot, on arrival. She'd swam in the oversized jacuzzi, drank and eaten two hours before the arrival of the handsome gentle man.
She'd tried to stop him after he had grabbed her as soon as she'd opened the door to let him. But he was strong like a rock and had turned deaf ear to all her protests, seduced and had recklessly made love to her, and things were never the same again.
Sobrina had also resumed the use of Marijuana on her return to Dove's house in Saru, she had been desperately trying to survive the worse heartbreak of her entire life, the one man in the world who'd picked her up from devastation, who had helped her build her adulthood into a respectable one according to the standards of her society, who had cried with her in times of trouble, and celebrated with her in times of plenty, who had taught her to believe in God, who had accepted her when the whole world had rejected her. The one man who had saved her life in many occasions without asking for anything in return, had also joined the rest of the world to destroy her. She had long discovered that the sight of moving water brought peace to her mind, she never stopped visiting her favorite spot - on the hill, by the lake, under an umbrella tree. There she wept regularly while smoking weed. Then later at night, she would dress up and let Dove - who was now a classy lady of the city of Saru - take her to beautiful expensive club houses in the city. The loud music and so much activity helped to calm her troubled mind. Even though Sobrina understood that wasn't the life she'd wanted, she decided it was probably her fate. She made a vow never to get herself involved with religious activities of any kind, or enter a church building for any reason. It was obvious that, "many were called, but few were chosen", and she wasn't part of that few. She'd long forgotten the rudiments of the game, but she allowed herself to be reminded by the best in the business - Dove - and gradually she began to attract the attention of really wealthy men. It was by pure luck that she had met the great Senator one evening at the Billionaires Night Club.
Meeting this handsome Arabian Prince had changed all that for Sobrina, it was neither God nor the Devil. It was by pure human fate. She'd swiftly switched into a flirty mood as soon as she'd turned around to look at the face, the mouth that had said "Hello", belonged to. She had earlier noticed the uniqueness of his cologne, but had been focused on the on going game. She saw the handsome young man, with the funny scarf around his head, smiling at her, and the butterflies that had long slept in her stomach, until she had thought they were dead, awoke. She only intended to enjoy her birthday as recklessly as she could afford, when she agreed to accompany him to the Penthouse upstairs. Even though she understood he must be rich, Sobrina was no longer in the game of exchanging sex for money. She'd quit many years ago, after her business started booming.
A little sex, while blowing Marijuana smoke from mouth to mouth, a little talk and now he'd not only bought her a booming designers clothing business, which had made a second sector of her business - fashion. But had also paid for her very own private jet.
At first, sex with him was like exploiting a naive younger man, but gradually she'd discovered that, that was how he actually wanted it. Sobrina was always in control, asking him to do this or do that, move this way or that way, and he never stopped until she was well satisfied. She also noticed that the only place she could controlled him was in bed, he liked to be in charge in every other matter, a situation she'd tried to change many times but had resigned to accept. He was more than a dream come through.
"Sob... Sobrina?", the young man called. But Sobrina was lost in thought. They'd earlier noticed a strange specie of fish in the large aquarium, and had walked over to take a closer look, they were carrying their glasses containing wine from their second bottle of Krug - the one they'd ordered after lunch. He was standing behind her.
"Sobrina?", he called again.
"Yes, yes?", she responded returning to the moment.
The handsome young Arabian Prince slowly - as if he was afraid and very nervous - went on one knee. Sobrina widened her eyes in surprise. He produced a small box from his pocket and opened it, smiling at her reaction.
"Sobrina Malcolm, I've fantasized about getting married to a pretty black woman, I never thought it was a possibility until I met you. Will you marry me?", Sobrina had mistakenly dropped her glass few seconds ago, it had shattered - in little pieces, like her life had done many years ago - but none of them gave a wink. They were lost in the moment. She'd also covered her gaping mouth with both her palms. She turned around, away from him trying to hide her tears.
"Sobrina, I'm on my knees. It's actually a strange thing for me", the young prince pleaded, afraid she was about to turn him down, "would you please say something?".
"Why... Why would you want to marry me?", she questioned with a shaking voice and without turning around.
"Because I love you honey",
"You're just a kid, what do you know about love?",
"That is very understandable. I might be a kid to you, since I am only twenty five. But I can assure you, you won't find a better man, lover and father for our children", he responded, while still hopefully on his knees.
"But I'm sick...", Sobrina said turning around.
"No, you're not. You're healthier than a billion ladies all over the world, mentally, psychologically and otherwise",
"What will your parents say",
"Well, my mom is no more, as you know. And my dad is very open minded. That said, there are things that will still remain only between us as a family. I love you Sobrina Malcolm, please be my wife", he was encouraged by her demeanor, the fact that she was crying was a great sign.
Sobrina gently walked towards him and stretched out her left hand. He removed the largest diamond Sobrina had ever seen from the small box and put it on her finger - the one next to her pinky. He was smiling happily, while Sobrina was crying more and more. He got up and hugged her, "it has your name written inside it, it was made specifically for a Sobrina Malcolm and registered as such, you're the only one who owns it the world", he said, as he helped her wipe her tears using his sweet smelling handkerchief. He kissed her three times, one on the forehead, one on her nose and the last on her lips.
